Juan 21
1 Después se manifestó Jesús otra vez a sus discípulos junto a la mar de Tiberias; y se manifestó de esta manera:
After these things, Jesus revealed himself again to the disciples at the sea of Tiberias. He revealed himself this way.
2 Estaban juntos Simón Pedro, y Tomás, que se llamaba Dídimo, y Natanael, de Cana de Galilea, y los hijos de Zebedeo, y otros dos de sus discípulos.
Simon Peter, Thomas called Didymus, Nathanael of Cana in Galilee, and the sons of Zebedee, and two others of his disciples were together.
3 Díceles Simón: A pescar voy: Dícenle: Vamos nosotros también contigo. Fueron, y subieron luego en una nave; y aquella noche no tomaron nada.
Simon Peter said to them, "I'm going fishing." They told him, "We are also coming with you." They went out, and entered into the boat. That night, they caught nothing.
4 Empero venida la mañana, Jesús se puso en la ribera; mas los discípulos no sabían que era Jesús.
But when day had already come, Jesus stood on the beach, yet the disciples did not know that it was Jesus.
5 Entonces les dice Jesús: ¿Hijos, tenéis algo de comer? Respondiéronle: No.
Jesus therefore said to them, "Children, have you anything to eat?" They answered him, "No."
6 Y él les dice: Echád la red a la derecha de la nave, y hallaréis. Echáron la pues, y ya no la podían en ninguna manera sacar, por la multitud de los peces.
He said to them, "Cast the net on the right side of the boat, and you will find some." They cast it therefore, and now they weren't able to draw it in for the multitude of fish.
7 Dijo entonces aquel discípulo al cual amaba Jesús, a Pedro: El Señor es. Entonces Simón Pedro, como oyó que era el Señor, ciñóse de pescador, porque estaba desnudo, y echóse a la mar.
That disciple therefore whom Jesus loved said to Peter, "It's the Lord." So when Simon Peter heard that it was the Lord, he wrapped his coat around him (for he was naked), and threw himself into the sea.
8 Y los otros discípulos vinieron con la nave (porque no estaban lejos de tierra, sino como doscientos codos), trayendo la red con los peces.
But the other disciples came in the little boat (for they were not far from the land, but about one hundred yards away), dragging the net full of fish.
9 Y como llegaron a tierra, vieron ascuas puestas, y un pez encima de ellas, y pan.
So when they got out on the land, they saw a fire of coals there, and fish placed on it, and bread.
10 Díceles Jesús: Traéd de los peces que tomasteis ahora.
Jesus said to them, "Bring some of the fish which you have just caught."
11 Subió Simón Pedro, y trajo la red a tierra, llena de grandes peces, ciento y cincuenta y tres; y aun siendo tantos, la red no se rompió.
Simon Peter went up, and drew the net to land, full of great fish, one hundred fifty-three; and even though there were so many, the net was not torn.
12 Díceles Jesús: Veníd, y coméd. Y ninguno de los discípulos le osaba preguntar: ¿Tú, quién eres? sabiendo que era el Señor.
Jesus said to them, "Come and eat breakfast." None of the disciples dared inquire of him, "Who are you?" knowing that it was the Lord.
13 Entonces viene Jesús, y toma el pan, y dáles, y asimismo del pez.
Then Jesus came and took the bread, gave it to them, and the fish likewise.
14 Esta era ya la tercera vez que Jesús se manifestó a sus discípulos, habiendo resucitado de entre los muertos.
This is now the third time that Jesus was revealed to his disciples, after he had risen from the dead.
15 Pues como hubieron comido, Jesús dijo a Simón Pedro: ¿Simón, hijo de Jonás, me amas más que estos? Dícele: Sí, Señor: tú sabes que te amo. Dícele: Apacienta mis corderos.
So when they had eaten their breakfast, Jesus said to Simon Peter, "Simon, son of John, do you love me more than these?" He said to him, "Yes, Lord; you know that I love you." He said to him, "Feed my lambs."
16 Vuélvele a decir la segunda vez: ¿Simón, hijo de Jonás, me amas? Respóndele: Sí, Señor: tú sabes que te amo. Dícele: Apacienta mis ovejas.
He said to him again a second time, "Simon, son of John, do you love me?" He said to him, "Yes, Lord; you know that I love you." He said to him, "Tend my sheep."
17 Dícele la tercera vez: ¿Simón, hijo de Jonás, me amas? Entristecióse Pedro de que le dijese la tercera vez. ¿Me amas? Y le dice: Señor, tú sabes todas las cosas: tú sabes que te amo. Dícele Jesús: Apacienta mis ovejas.
He said to him the third time, "Simon, son of John, do you love me?" Peter was grieved because he asked him the third time, "Do you love me?" And he said to him, "Lord, you know everything. You know that I love you." Jesus said to him, "Feed my sheep.
18 De cierto, de cierto te digo, que cuando eras más mozo, te ceñías, e ibas donde querías; mas cuando ya fueres viejo, extenderás tus manos, y ceñirte ha otro, y te llevará donde no querrías.
Truly I tell you, when you were young, you dressed yourself, and walked where you wanted to. But when you are old, you will stretch out your hands, and another will dress you, and carry you where you do not want to go."
19 Y esto dijo, dando a entender con que muerte había de glorificar a Dios. Y dicho esto, dícele: Sígueme.
Now he said this, signifying by what kind of death he would glorify God. When he had said this, he said to him, "Follow me."
20 Entonces volviéndose Pedro, ve a aquel discípulo al cual amaba Jesús que seguía, el que también se había recostado sobre su pecho en la cena, y le había dicho: ¿Señor, quién es el que te ha de entregar?
Then Peter, turning around, saw a disciple following. This was the disciple whom Jesus sincerely loved, the one who had also leaned on Jesus' chest at the evening meal and asked, "Lord, who is going to betray You?"
21 Así que, como Pedro vio a éste, dice a Jesús: ¿Señor, y qué será de éste?
Peter seeing him, said to Jesus, "Lord, what about this man?"
22 Dícele Jesús: Si quiero que él quede hasta que yo venga, ¿qué se te da a ti? Sígueme tú.
Jesus said to him, "If I desire that he stay until I come, what is that to you? You follow me."
23 Salió pues este dicho entre los hermanos, que aquel discípulo no había de morir; mas Jesús no le dijo: No morirá; sino: Si quiero que él quede hasta que yo venga, ¿qué se te da a ti?
This saying therefore went out among the brothers, that this disciple would not die. Yet Jesus did not say to him that he would not die, but, "If I desire that he stay until I come, what is that to you?"
24 Este es el discípulo que da testimonio de estas cosas, y escribió estas cosas; y sabemos que su testimonio es verdadero.
This is the disciple who testifies about these things, and wrote these things. We know that his witness is true.
25 Y hay también otras muchas cosas que hizo Jesús, que si se escribiesen cada una por sí, ni aun en el mundo pienso que cabrían los libros que se habrían de escribir. Amén.
There are also many other things which Jesus did, which if they would all be written, I suppose that even the world itself would not have room for the books that would be written.
