Juan 19
1 Así que entonces tomó Pilato a Jesús, y le azotó.
Then Pilate tooke Iesus and scourged him.
2 Y los soldados entretejieron de espinas una corona, y la pusieron sobre su cabeza, y le vistieron de una ropa de grana,
And the souldiers platted a crowne of thornes, and put it on his head, and they put on him a purple garment,
3 Y decían: Dios te guarde, Rey de los Judíos; y le daban de bofetadas.
And saide, Haile, King of the Iewes. And they smote him with their roddes.
4 Entonces Pilato salió otra vez fuera, y les dijo: He aquí, os le traigo fuera, para que entendáis que ningún crímen hallo en él.
Then Pilate went foorth againe, and said vnto them, Behold, I bring him forth to you, that ye may knowe, that I finde no fault in him at all.
5 Entonces salió Jesús fuera llevando la corona de espinas, y la ropa de grana. Y díceles Pilato: ¡He aquí el hombre!
Then came Iesus foorth wearing a crowne of thornes, and a purple garment. And Pilate said vnto them, Beholde the man.
6 Y como le vieron los príncipes de los sacerdotes, y los ministros, dieron voces, diciendo: Crucifíca le, crucifíca le. Díceles Pilato: Tomádle vosotros, y crucificád le; porque yo no hallo en él crímen.
Then when the hie Priests and officers sawe him, they cried, saying, Crucifie, crucifie him. Pilate said vnto them, Take yee him and crucifie him: for I finde no fault in him.
7 Respondiéronle los Judíos: Nosotros tenemos una ley, y según nuestra ley debe morir, porque se hizo el Hijo de Dios.
The Iewes answered him, We haue a lawe, and by our law he ought to die, because he made himselfe the Sonne of God.
8 Pilato pues como oyó esta palabra, tuvo más miedo.
When Pilate then heard that woorde, he was the more afraide,
9 Y entró otra vez en el pretorio, y dijo a Jesús: ¿De dónde eres tú? Mas Jesús no le dio respuesta.
And went againe into the common hall, and saide vnto Iesus, Whence art thou? But Iesus gaue him none answere.
10 Entonces dícele Pilato: ¿A mí no me hablas? ¿no sabes que tengo potestad para crucificarte, y que tengo potestad para soltarte?
Then saide Pilate vnto him, Speakest thou not vnto me? Knowest thou not that I haue power to crucifie thee, and haue power to loose thee?
11 Respondió Jesús: Ninguna potestad tendrías contra mí, si no te fuese dada de arriba; por tanto el que a ti me ha entregado, mayor pecado tiene.
Iesus answered, Thou couldest haue no power at all against me, except it were giuen thee from aboue: therefore he that deliuered me vnto thee, hath the greater sinne.
12 Desde entonces procuraba Pilato de soltarle; mas los Judíos daban voces, diciendo: Si a éste sueltas, no eres amigo de César: cualquiera que se hace rey, habla contra César.
From thence foorth Pilate sought to loose him, but the Iewes cried, saying, If thou deliuer him, thou art not Cesars friende: for whosoeuer maketh himselfe a King, speaketh against Cesar.
13 Entonces Pilato oyendo este dicho, llevó fuera a Jesús, y se sentó en el tribunal, en el lugar que se llama el Pavimento, y en el Hebreo Gabbatha.
When Pilate heard this woorde, hee brought Iesus foorth, and sate downe in the iudgement seate in a place called the Pauement, and in Hebrewe, Gabbatha.
14 Y era la preparación de la pascua, y como la hora de sexta: entonces dijo a los Judíos: ¡He aquí vuestro Rey!
And it was the Preparation of the Passeouer, and about the sixt houre: and hee sayde vnto the Iewes, Beholde your King.
15 Mas ellos dieron voces: Quíta le, quíta le, crucifícale. Díceles Pilato: ¿A vuestro Rey tengo de crucificar? Respondieron los sumos sacerdotes: No tenemos rey, sino a César.
But they cried, Away with him, away with him, crucifie him. Pilate sayde vnto them, Shall I crucifie your King? The high Priestes answered, We haue no King but Cesar.
16 Entonces pues se le entregó para que fuese crucificado. Y tomaron a Jesús, y le llevaron.
Then deliuered he him vnto them, to be crucified. And they tooke Iesus, and led him away.
17 Y él llevando su cruz, salió al lugar que se llama el lugar de la Calavera, y en Hebreo Gólgota:
And he bare his owne crosse, and came into a place named of dead mens Skulles, which is called in Hebrewe, Golgotha:
18 Donde le crucificaron, y con él otros dos, de una parte y de otra, y Jesús en medio.
Where they crucified him, and two other with him, on either side one, and Iesus in the middes.
19 Y escribió Pilato un título, el cual puso encima de la cruz; y el escrito era: JESUS NAZARENO, REY DE LOS JUDÍOS.
And Pilate wrote also a title, and put it on the crosse, and it was written, JESUS OF NAZARETH THE KING OF THE JEWES.
20 Y muchos de los Judíos leyeron este título; porque el lugar donde fue crucificado Jesús, estaba cerca de la ciudad; y era escrito en Hebreo, y en Griego, y en Latín.
This title then read many of the Iewes: for the place where Iesus was crucified, was neere to the citie: and it was written in Hebrewe, Greeke and Latine.
21 Y decían a Pilato los sumos sacerdotes de los Judíos: No escribas: Rey de los Judíos; sino que él dijo: Rey soy de los Judíos.
Then saide the hie Priests of the Iewes to Pilate, Write not, The King of the Iewes, but that he sayd, I am King of the Iewes.
22 Respondió Pilato: Lo que he escrito, he escrito.
Pilate answered, What I haue written, I haue written.
23 Y como los soldados hubieron crucificado a Jesús, tomaron sus vestidos, e hicieron cuatro partes (a cada soldado una parte, ) y también la túnica, mas la túnica era sin costura, toda tejida desde arriba.
Then the souldiers, when they had crucified Iesus, tooke his garments (and made foure partes, to euery souldier a part) and his coat: and the coat was without seame wouen from the toppe throughout.
24 Dijeron pues entre sí: No la partamos, sino echemos suertes sobre ella cuya será; para que se cumpliese la Escritura que dice: Partieron para sí mis vestidos, y sobre mi vestidura echaron suertes. Estas cosas pues los soldados hicieron.
Therefore they sayde one to another, Let vs not deuide it, but cast lots for it, whose it shall be. This was that the Scripture might be fulfilled, which sayth, They parted my garments among them, and on my coate did cast lots. So the souldiers did these things in deede.
25 Y estaban junto a la cruz de Jesús su madre, y la hermana de su madre, María mujer de Cléofas, y María Magdalena.
Then stoode by the crosse of Iesus his mother, and his mothers sister, Marie the wife of Cleopas, and Marie Magdalene.
26 Y como vio Jesús a su madre, y al discípulo que él amaba, que estaba presente, dice a su madre: Mujer, he ahí tu hijo.
And when Iesus sawe his mother, and the disciple standing by, whom he loued, he said vnto his mother, Woman, beholde thy sonne.
27 Y luego dice al discípulo: He ahí tu madre. Y desde aquella hora el discípulo la recibió en su propia casa.
Then saide he to the disciple, Beholde thy mother: and from that houre, the disciple tooke her home vnto him.
28 Después de esto, sabiendo Jesús que todas las cosas estaban ya cumplidas, para que la Escritura se cumpliese, dijo: Tengo sed.
After, when Iesus knew that all things were performed, that the Scripture might be fulfilled, he said, I thirst.
29 Y había allí puesta una vasija llena de vinagre. Entonces ellos hinchieron una esponja de vinagre, y puesta sobre un hisopo se la llegaron a la boca.
And there was set a vessell full of vineger: and they filled a spondge with vineger: and put it about an Hyssope stalke, and put it to his mouth.
30 Y como Jesús tomó el vinagre, dijo: Consumado está. Y abajando la cabeza, dio el espíritu.
Nowe when Iesus had receiued of the vineger, he saide, It is finished, and bowed his head, and gaue vp the ghost.
31 Entonces los Judíos, por cuanto era el día de la preparación, para que los cuerpos no quedasen en la cruz en el sábado, porque era gran día aquel sábado, rogaron a Pilato que se les quebrasen las piernas, y que fuesen quitados.
The Iewes then (because it was the Preparation, that the bodies should not remaine vpon the crosse on the Sabbath day: for that Sabbath was an hie day) besought Pilate that their legges might be broken, and that they might be taken downe.
32 Vinieron pues los soldados, y a la verdad quebraron las piernas al primero, y al otro que había sido crucificado con él:
Then came the souldiers and brake the legges of the first, and of the other, which was crucified with Iesus.
33 Mas cuando vinieron a Jesús, como le vieron ya muerto, no le quebraron las piernas.
But when they came to Iesus, and saw that he was dead alreadie, they brake not his legges.
34 Empero uno de los soldados le abrió el costado con una lanza, y luego salió sangre y agua.
But one of the souldiers with a speare pearced his side, and foorthwith came there out blood and water.
35 Y el que lo vio da testimonio, y su testimonio es verdadero; y él sabe que dice verdad, para que vosotros también creáis.
And he that sawe it, bare recorde, and his record is true: and he knoweth that he saith true, that ye might beleeue it.
36 Porque estas cosas fueron hechas, para que se cumpliese la Escritura: Hueso no será quebrantado de él.
For these things were done, that the Scripture shoulde be fulfilled, Not a bone of him shalbe broken.
37 Y también otra Escritura dice: Mirarán a aquel al cual traspasaron.
And againe an other Scripture saith, They shall see him whom they haue thrust through.
38 Pasadas estas cosas, rogó a Pilato José de Arimatea, el cual era discípulo de Jesús, mas secreto, por miedo de los Judíos, que él quítase el cuerpo de Jesús: lo cual permitió Pilato. Entonces él vino, y quitó el cuerpo de Jesús.
And after these things, Ioseph of Arimathea (who was a disciple of Iesus, but secretly for feare of the Iewes) besought Pilate that he might take downe the bodie of Iesus. And Pilate gaue him licence. He came then and tooke Iesus body.
39 Y vino también Nicodemo, el que antes había venido a Jesús de noche, trayendo una mistura de mirra y de áloes, como cien libras.
And there came also Nicodemus (which first came to Iesus by night) and brought of myrrhe and aloes mingled together about an hundreth pound.
40 Y tomaron el cuerpo de Jesús, y le envolvieron en lienzos con especias, como es costumbre de los Judíos sepultar.
Then tooke they the body of Iesus, and wrapped it in linnen clothes with the odours, as the maner of the Iewes is to burie.
41 Y en aquel lugar, donde había sido crucificado, había un huerto, y en el huerto un sepulcro nuevo, en el cual aun no había sido puesto alguno.
And in that place where Iesus was crucified, was a garden, and in the garden a newe sepulchre, wherein was neuer man yet laid.
42 Allí pues pusieron a Jesús, por causa del día de la preparación de los Judíos, porque aquel sepulcro estaba cerca.
There then laide they Iesus, because of the Iewes Preparation day, for the sepulchre was neere.
