Juan 18
1 Como Jesús hubo dicho estas cosas, salióse con sus discípulos a la otra parte del arroyo de Cedrón, donde había un huerto, en el cual entró él, y sus discípulos.
When Jesus had spoken these words, he went forth with his disciples over the brook Cedron, where was a garden, into the which he entered, and his disciples.
2 Y también Júdas, el que le entregaba, conocía aquel lugar, porque muchas veces Jesús se juntaba allí con sus discípulos.
And Judas also, which betrayed him, knew the place: for Jesus frequently resorted thither with his disciples.
3 Júdas pues tomando una compañía de soldados, y ministros de los sumos sacerdotes y de los Fariseos, vino allí con linternas y antorchas, y con armas.
Judas then, having received a band of men and officers from the chief priests and Pharisees, comes thither with lanterns and torches and weapons.
4 Empero Jesús, sabiendo todas las cosas que habían de venir sobre él, salió delante, y les dijo. ¿A quién buscáis?
Jesus therefore, knowing all things that should come upon him, went forth, and said unto them, Whom seek all of you?
5 Respondiéronle: A Jesús Nazareno. Díceles Jesús: Yo soy. (Y estaba también con ellos Júdas el que le entregaba.)
They answered him, Jesus of Nazareth. Jesus says unto them, I am he. And Judas also, which betrayed him, stood with them.
6 Y como les dijo: Yo soy: volvieron atrás, y cayeron en tierra.
As soon then as he had said unto them, I am he, they went backward, and fell to the ground.
7 Volvióles pues a preguntar: ¿A quién buscáis? Y ellos dijeron: A Jesús Nazareno.
Then asked he them again, Whom seek all of you? And they said, Jesus of Nazareth.
8 Respondió Jesús: Ya os he dicho que yo soy: pues si a mí buscáis, dejád ir a estos:
Jesus answered, I have told you that I am he: if therefore all of you seek me, let these go their way:
9 Para que se cumpliese la palabra que había dicho: De los que me diste, ninguno de ellos perdí.
That the saying (logos) might be fulfilled, which he spoke, Of them which you gave me have I lost none.
10 Entonces Simón Pedro, que tenía una espada, la sacó, e hirió a un siervo del sumo sacerdote, y le cortó la oreja derecha; y el siervo se llamaba Malco.
Then Simon Peter having a sword drew it, and stroke the high priest's servant, and cut off his right ear. The servant's name was Malchus.
11 Jesús entonces dijo a Pedro: Mete tu espada en la vaina: ¿la copa que mi Padre me ha dado, no la tengo de beber?
Then said Jesus unto Peter, Put up your sword into the sheath: the cup which my Father has given me, shall I not drink it?
12 Entonces la compañía de los soldados, y el tribuno, y los ministros de los Judíos prendieron a Jesús, y le ataron.
Then the band and the captain and officers of the Jews took Jesus, and bound him,
13 Y le trajeron primeramente a Annás, porque era suegro de Caifás, el cual era sumo sacerdote de aquel año.
And led him away to Annas first; for he was father in law to Caiaphas, which was the high priest that same year.
14 Y era Caifás el que había dado el consejo a los Judíos, que era necesario que un hombre muriese por el pueblo.
Now Caiaphas was he, which gave counsel to the Jews, that it was expedient that one man should die for the people.
15 Y seguía a Jesús Simón Pedro, y otro discípulo; y aquel discípulo era conocido del sumo sacerdote, y entró con Jesús en el palacio del sumo sacerdote.
And Simon Peter followed Jesus, and so did another disciple: that disciple was known unto the high priest, and went in with Jesus into the palace of the high priest.
16 Mas Pedro estaba fuera a la puerta. Entonces salió aquel discípulo que era conocido del sumo sacerdote, y habló a la portera, y metió dentro a Pedro.
But Peter stood at the door without. Then went out that other disciple, which was known unto the high priest, and spoke unto her that kept the door, and brought in Peter.
17 Entonces la criada portera dijo a Pedro: ¿No eres tú también uno de los discípulos de este hombre? Dice él: No soy.
Then says the damsel that kept the door unto Peter, Are not you also one of this man's disciples? He says, I am not.
18 Y estaban en pie los criados y los ministros que habían hecho fuego de carbón, porque hacía frío, y se calentaban; y estaba con ellos Pedro en pie calentándose.
And the servants and officers stood there, who had made a fire of coals; for it was cold: and they warmed themselves: and Peter stood with them, and warmed himself.
19 Y el sumo sacerdote preguntó a Jesús de sus discípulos, y de su doctrina.
The high priest then asked Jesus of his disciples, and of his doctrine.
20 Jesús le respondió: Yo manifiestamente he hablado al mundo: yo siempre he enseñado en la sinagoga, y en el templo, donde siempre se juntan todos los Judíos; y nada he hablado en oculto.
Jesus answered him, I spoke openly to the world; I ever taught in the synagogue, and in the temple, where the Jews always resort; and in secret have I said nothing.
21 ¿Por qué me preguntas a mí? Pregunta a los que han oído, qué les haya yo hablado: he aquí, estos saben lo que yo he dicho.
Why ask you me? ask them which heard me, what I have said unto them: behold, they know what I said.
22 Y como él hubo dicho esto, uno de los ministros que estaba allí, dio una bofetada a Jesús, diciendo: ¿Así respondes al sumo sacerdote?
And when he had thus spoken, one of the officers which stood by struck Jesus with the palm of his hand, saying, Answer you the high priest so?
23 Respondióle Jesús: Si he hablado mal, da testimonio del mal; mas si bien, ¿por qué me hieres?
Jesus answered him, If I have spoken evil, bear witness of the evil: but if well, why smite you me?
24 Habíale enviado Annás atado a Caifás sumo sacerdote.
Now Annas had sent him bound unto Caiaphas the high priest.
25 Estaba pues Pedro en pie calentándose: y le dijeron: ¿No eres tú también uno de sus discípulos? El lo negó, y dijo: No soy.
And Simon Peter stood and warmed himself. They said therefore unto him, Are not you also one of his disciples? He denied it, and said, I am not.
26 Uno de los criados del sumo sacerdote, pariente de aquel a quien Pedro había cortado la oreja, le dice: ¿No te ví yo en el huerto con él?
One of the servants of the high priest, being his kinsman whose ear Peter cut off, says, Did not I see you in the garden with him?
27 Y negó Pedro otra vez; y luego el gallo cantó.
Peter then denied again: and immediately the cock crew.
28 Y llevan a Jesús de Caifás al pretorio; y era de mañana; y ellos no entraron en el pretorio por no ser contaminados, sino poder comer la pascua.
Then led they Jesus from Caiaphas unto the hall of judgment: and it was early; and they themselves went not into the judgment hall, lest they should be defiled; but that they might eat the passover.
29 Entonces salió Pilato a ellos fuera, y dijo: ¿Qué acusación traeis contra este hombre?
Pilate then went out unto them, and said, What accusation bring all of you against this man?
30 Respondieron, y le dijeron: Si éste no fuera malhechor, no te le hubiéramos entregado.
They answered and said unto him, If he were not a villain, we would not have delivered him up unto you.
31 Díceles entonces Pilato: Tomádle vosotros, y juzgádle según vuestra ley. Y los Judíos le dijeron: A nosotros no nos es lícito matar a nadie.
Then said Pilate unto them, Take all of you him, and judge him according to your law. The Jews therefore said unto him, It is not lawful for us to put any man to death:
32 Para que se cumpliese el dicho de Jesús que había dicho, dando a entender de qué muerte había de morir.
That the saying (logos) of Jesus might be fulfilled, which he spoke, signifying what death he should die.
33 Entonces Pilato volvióse a entrar en el pretorio, y llamó a Jesús, y le dijo: ¿Eres tú el Rey de los Judíos?
Then Pilate entered into the judgment hall again, and called Jesus, and said unto him, Are you the King of the Jews?
34 Respondióle Jesús: ¿Dices tú esto de ti mismo, o te lo han dicho otros de mí?
Jesus answered him, Say you this thing of yourself, or did others tell it you of me?
35 Pilato respondió: ¿Soy yo Judío? Tu misma nación, y los sumos sacerdotes, te han entregado a mí: ¿qué has hecho?
Pilate answered, Am I a Jew? your own nation and the chief priests have delivered you unto me: what have you done?
36 Respondió Jesús: Mi reino no es de este mundo: si de este mundo fuera mi reino, mis servidores pelearían para que yo no fuera entregado a los Judíos, ahora pues mi reino no es de aquí.
Jesus answered, My kingdom is not of this world: if my kingdom were of this world, then would my servants fight, that I should not be delivered to the Jews: but now is my kingdom not from behind.
37 Díjole entonces Pilato: ¿Luego rey eres tú? Respondió Jesús: Tú dices que yo soy rey. Yo para esto he nacido, y para esto he venido al mundo, es a saber, para dar testimonio a la verdad. Todo aquel que es de la verdad, oye mi voz.
Pilate therefore said unto him, Are you a king then? Jesus answered, You say that I am a king. To this end was I born, and for this cause came I into the world, that I should bear witness unto the truth. Every one that is of the truth hears my voice.
38 Dícele Pilato: ¿Qué cosa es verdad? Y como hubo dicho esto, volvió a los Judíos, y les dice: Yo no hallo en él crímen alguno.
Pilate says unto him, What is truth? And when he had said this, he went out again unto the Jews, and says unto them, I find in him no fault at all.
39 Empero vosotros tenéis costumbre, que yo os suelte uno en la pascua: ¿queréis pues que os suelte al Rey de los Judíos?
But all of you have a custom, that I should release unto you one at the passover: will all of you therefore that I release unto you the King of the Jews?
40 Entonces todos dieron voces otra vez, diciendo: No a éste, sino a Barrabás. Y Barrabás era un ladrón.
Then cried they all again, saying, Not this man, but Barabbas. Now Barabbas was a robber.
