Jeremías 11
1 Palabra que fue de Jehová a Jeremías, diciendo:
The worde that came to Ieremiah from the Lord, saying,
2 Oíd las palabras de este concierto, y hablád a todo varón de Judá, y a todo morador de Jerusalem;
Heare ye the wordes of this couenant, and speake vnto the men of Iudah, and to the inhabitants of Ierusalem,
3 Y decirles has: Así dijo Jehová Dios de Israel: Maldito el varón que no obedeciere a las palabras de este concierto;
And say thou vnto them, Thus sayeth the Lord God of Israel, Cursed be the man that obeyeth not the wordes of this couenant,
4 El cual mandé a vuestros padres el día que los saqué de la tierra de Egipto, del horno de hierro, diciéndoles: Oíd mi voz, y hacédla, conforme a todo lo que os mandaré; y serme heis por pueblo, y yo seré a vosotros por Dios:
Which I commanded vnto your fathers, when I brought them out of the lande of Egypt, from the yron fornace, saying, Obey my voyce, and doe according to all these things, which I commande you: so shall ye be my people, and I will be your God,
5 Para que confirme el juramento que juré a vuestros padres, que les daría la tierra que corre leche y miel, como este día. Y respondí, y dije: Amén, o! Jehová.
That I may confirme the othe, that I haue sworne vnto your fathers, to giue them a lande, which floweth with milke and hony, as appeareth this day. Then answered I and sayde, So be it, O Lord.
6 Y Jehová me dijo: Pregona todas estas palabras en las ciudades de Judá, y en las calles de Jerusalem, diciendo: Oíd las palabras de este concierto, y hacédlas.
Then the Lord saide vnto me, Cry all these words in the cities of Iudah, and in the streetes of Ierusalem, saying, Heare yee the words of this couenant, and doe them.
7 Porque protestando protesté a vuestros padres el día que los hice subir de la tierra de Egipto, hasta el día de hoy, madrugando y protestando, diciendo: Oíd mi voz:
For I haue protested vnto your fathers, whe I brought them vp out of the land of Egypt vnto this day, rising earely and protesting, saying, Obey my voyce.
8 Y no oyeron, ni abajaron su oído, antes se fueron cada uno tras la imaginación de su corazón malvado: por tanto traeré sobre ellos todas las palabras de este concierto, el cual mandé que hiciesen, y no lo hicieron.
Neuerthelesse they would not obey, nor encline their eare: but euery one walked in the stubbernesse of his wicked heart: therefore I will bring vpon them all the wordes of this couenant, which I commanded them to do, but they did it not.
9 Y díjome Jehová: Conjuración se ha hallado en los varones de Judá, y en los moradores de Jerusalem.
And the Lord sayd vnto me, A conspiracie is found among the men of Iudah, and among the inhabitants of Ierusalem.
10 Vuéltose han a las maldades de sus primeros padres, los cuales no quisieron oír a mis palabras, antes se fueron tras dioses ajenos para servirles; invalidaron mi concierto la casa de Israel y la casa de Judá, el cual yo había concertado con sus padres.
They are turned backe to the iniquities of their forefathers, which refused to heare my wordes: and they went after other gods to serue them: thus the house of Israel, and the house of Iudah haue broken my couenant, which I made with their fathers.
11 Por lo cual Jehová dijo así: He aquí que yo traigo sobre ellos mal, del cual no podrán salir; y clamarán a mí, y no los oiré.
Therefore thus sayth the Lord, Beholde, I will bring a plague vpon them, which they shall not be able to escape, and though they crye vnto me, I will not heare them.
12 Irán pues las ciudades de Judá y los moradores de Jerusalem, y clamarán a los dioses a quienes ellos queman enciensos, los cuales no los podrán salvar en el tiempo de su mal.
Then shall the cities of Iudah, and the inhabitants of Ierusalem goe, and crie vnto the gods vnto whome they offer incense, but they shall not bee able to helpe them in time of their trouble.
13 Porque al número de tus ciudades fueron tus dioses, o! Judá; y al número de tus calles, o! Jerusalem, pusistes los altares de confusión, altares para ofrecer sahumerios a Baal.
For according to the number of thy cities were thy gods, O Iudah, and according to the number of the streetes of Ierusalem haue yee set vp altars of confusion, euen altars to burne incense vnto Baal.
14 Tú, pues, no ores por este pueblo, ni levantes por ellos clamor ni oración; porque yo no oiré el día que clamaren a mí por su aflicción.
Therfore thou shalt not pray for this people, neither lift vp a crie, or prayer for them: for when they cry vnto mee in their trouble, I will not heare them.
15 ¿Qué tiene mi amado en mi casa, habiendo hecho abominaciones muchas? Y las carnes santas pasarán de sobre ti, porque te gloriaste en tu maldad.
What shoulde my beloued tarie in mine house, seeing they haue committed abomination with manie? and the holy flesh goeth away from thee: yet when thou doest euill, thou reioycest.
16 Oliva verde, hermosa en fruto y en parecer, llamó Jehová tu nombre: a voz de gran palabra hizo encender fuego sobre ella, y quebraron sus ramas.
The Lord called thy name, A greene oliue tree, faire, and of goodly fruite: but with noyse and great tumult he hath set fyre vpon it, and the branches of it are broken.
17 Y Jehová de los ejércitos, el que te planta, pronunció mal contra ti, a causa de la maldad de la casa de Israel y de la casa de Judá que hicieron a sí mismos, provocándome a ira, incensando a Baal.
For the Lord of hostes that planted thee, hath pronounced a plague against thee, for the wickednes of the house of Israel, and of the house of Iudah, which they haue done against themselues to prouoke me to anger in offering incense vnto Baal.
18 Y Jehová me hizo saber, y conocí: entonces me hiciste ver sus obras.
And the Lord hath taught me, and I knowe it, euen then thou shewedst mee their practises.
19 Y yo como cordero, o buey que llevan a degollar, que no entendía que pensaban contra mí pensamientos, diciendo: Destruyamos el árbol con su fruto; y cortémoslo de la tierra de los vivos, y no haya más memoria de su nombre.
But I was like a lambe, or a bullocke, that is brought to the slaughter, and I knewe not that they had deuised thus against me, saying, Let vs destroy the tree with the fruite thereof, and cut him out of the lande of the liuing, that his name may be no more in memory.
20 Mas, o! Jehová de los ejércitos, que juzgas justicia, que sondas los riñones y el corazón, vea yo tu venganza de ellos; porque a ti he descubierto mi causa.
But O Lord of hostes, that iudgest righteously, and triest the reines and the heart, let me see thy vengeance on them: for vnto thee haue I opened my cause.
21 Por tanto Jehová dijo así de los varones de Anatot, que buscan tu alma, diciendo: No profetices en nombre de Jehová, y no morirás a nuestras manos.
The Lord therefore speaketh thus of the men of Anathoth, (that seeke thy life, and say, Prophecie not in the Name of the Lord, that thou die not by our hands)
22 Por tanto así dijo Jehová de los ejércitos: He aquí que yo los visito: los mancebos morirán a cuchillo: sus hijos y sus hijas morirán de hambre;
Thus therefore sayth the Lord of hostes, Beholde, I will visite them: the yong men shall die by the sword: their sonnes and their daughters shall die by famine,
23 Y no quedará resta de ellos, porque yo traeré mal sobre los varones de Anatot, año de su visitación.
And none of them shall remaine: for I will bring a plague vpon the men of Anathoth, euen the yeere of their visitation.
