Isaías 7

1 Aconteció en los días de Acaz, hijo de Joatam, hijo de Ozías, rey de Judá, que Rezín rey de Siria, y Face, hijo de Romelías, rey de Israel, subieron a Jerusalem para combatirla, mas no la pudieron tomar.

And it came to pass in the days of Achaz the son of Joathan, the son of Ozias, king of Juda, that Basin king of Syria, and Phacee the son of Romelia king of Israel, came up to Jerusalem, to fight against it: but they could not prevail over it.

2 Y vino la nueva a la casa de David, diciendo, como Siria se había confederado con Efraím; y estremeciósele el corazón, y el corazón de su pueblo, como se estremecen los árboles del monte a causa del viento.

And they told the house of David, saying: Syria hath rested upon Ephraim, and his heart was moved, and the heart of his people, as the trees of the woods are moved with the wind.

3 Entonces Jehová dijo a Isaías: Sal ahora al encuentro a Acaz, tú, y Searjasub tu hijo, al cabo del conducto de la pesquera de arriba, en el camino de la heredad del batanero.

And the Lord said to Isaias: Go forth to meet Achaz, thou and Jasub thy son that is left, to the conduit of the upper pool, a in the way of the fuller’s held.

4 Y díle: Guarda, y repósate: no temas, ni se enternezca tu corazón a causa de estos dos cabos de tizones que humean, es a saber, por el furor de la ira de Rezín y del Siro, y del hijo de Romelías:

And thou shalt say to him: See thou be quiet: fear not, and let not thy heart be afraid of the two tails of these fire brands, smoking with the wrath of the fury of Rasin king of Syria, and of the son of Romelia.

5 Por haber acordado maligno consejo contra ti el Siro, con Efraím, y con el hijo de Romelías, diciendo:

Because Syria hath taken counsel against thee, unto the evil of Ephraim and the son of Romelia, saying:

6 Vamos contra Judá, y despertarla hemos, y partirla hemos entre nosotros, y pondremos en medio de ella por rey al hijo de Tabeal.

Let us go up to Juda, and rouse it up, and draw it away to us, and make the son of Tabeel king in the midst thereof.

7 El Señor Jehová dice así: No permanecerá, y no será.

Thus saith the Lord God: It shall not stand, and this shall not be.

8 Porque la cabeza de Siria será Damasco, y la cabeza de Damasco Rezín. Y dentro de sesenta y cinco años Efraím será quebrantado, y nunca más será pueblo:

But the head of Syria is Damascus, and the head of Damascus is Basin: and within threescore and five years, Ephraim shall cease to be a people:

9 Entre tanto la cabeza de Efraím será Samaria, y la cabeza de Samaria el hijo de Romelías. Si no creyereis, cierto no permaneceréis.

And the head of Ephraim is Samaria and the head of Samaria the son of Romelia. If you will not believe, you shall not continue.

10 Y habló más Jehová a Acaz, diciendo:

And the Lord spoke again to Achaz, saying:

11 Pide para ti señal de Jehová tu Dios, demandando en el profundo, o arriba en lo alto. (Sheol h7585)

Ask thee a sign of the Lord thy God either unto the depth of hell, or unto the height above. (Sheol h7585)

12 Y respondió Acaz: No pediré, y no tentaré a Jehová.

And Achaz said: I will not ask, and I will not tempt the Lord.

13 Y dijo: Ahora oíd, casa de David: ¿No os basta ser molestos a los hombres, si no que también lo seáis a mi Dios?

And he said: Hear ye therefore, O house of David: Is it a small thing for you to be grievous to men, that you are grievous to my God also?

14 Por tanto el mismo Señor os dará señal. He aquí que la virgen concebirá, y parirá hijo, y llamará su nombre Emmanuel.

Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign. Behold a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and his name shall be called Emmanuel.

15 Comerá manteca y miel, hasta que sepa desechar lo malo, y escoger lo bueno.

He shall eat butter and honey, that he may know to refuse the evil, and to choose the good.

16 Porque antes que el niño sepa desechar lo malo, y escoger lo bueno, la tierra que tu aborreces será dejada de sus dos reyes.

For before the child know to refuse the evil, and to choose the good, the land which thou abhorrest shall be forsaken of the face of her two kings.

17 Jehová hará venir sobre ti, y sobre tu pueblo, y sobre la casa de tu padre días, cuales nunca vinieron desde el día que Efraím se apartó de Judá, es a saber, al rey de Asiria.

The Lord shall bring upon thee, and upon thy people, and upon the house of thy father, days that have not come since the time of the separation of Ephraim from Juda with the king of the Assyrians.

18 Y acontecerá que aquel día silbará Jehová a la mosca que está en el fin de los ríos de Egipto, y a la abeja que está en la tierra de Asiria;

And it shall come to pass in that day, that the Lord shall hiss for the fly, that is in the uttermost parts of the rivers of Egypt, and for the bee that is in the land of Assyria.

19 Y vendrán, y asentarse han todos en los valles desiertos, y en las cavernas de las piedras, y en todos los zarzales, y en todas las matas.

And they shall come, and shall all of them rest in the torrents of the valleys, and in the holes of the rocks, and upon all places set with shrubs, and in all hollow places.

20 En aquel día raerá el Señor con navaja alquilada, con los que habitan de la otra parte del río, es a saber, con el rey de Asiria, cabeza y pelos de los pies; y aun la barba también quitará.

In that day the Lord shall shave with a razor that is hired by them that are beyond the river, by the king of the Assyrians, the head and the hairs of the feet, and the whole beard.

21 Y acontecerá en aquel tiempo, que crie un hombre una res vacuna, y dos ovejas:

And it shall come to pass in that day, that a man shall nourish a young cow, and two sheep.

22 Y acontecerá, que a causa de la multitud de la leche que le darán, comerá manteca: cierto manteca y miel comerá el que quedare en medio de la tierra.

And for the abundance of milk he shall eat butter: for butter and honey shall every one eat that shall be left in the midst of the land.

23 Acontecerá también en aquel tiempo, acontecerá, que el lugar donde había mil vides que valían mil siclos de plata, será para los espinos y para los cardos.

And it shall come to pass in that day, that every place where there were a thousand vines, at a thousand pieces of silver, shall become thorns and briers.

24 Con saetas y arco irán allá; porque toda la tierra será espinos, y cardos.

With arrows and with bows they shall go in thither: for briars and thorns shall be in all the land.

25 Mas a todos los montes que se cavan con azada, no llegará allá el temor de los espinos y de los cardos: mas serán para pasto de vacas, y para ser hollados de ovejas.

And as for all the hills that shall be raked with a rake, the fear of thorns and briers shall not come thither, but they shall be for the ox to feed on, and the lesser cattle to tread upon.
