Isaías 37
1 Aconteció pues que el rey Ezequías, oído esto, rompió sus vestidos, y cubierto de saco vino a la casa de Jehová.
And it came to pass, when King Hezekiah heard it, that he rent his clothes, —and covered himself with sackcloth, and entered the house of Yahweh;
2 Y envió a Eliacim mayordomo, y a Sobna escriba, y a los ancianos de los sacerdotes cubiertos de sacos a Isaías profeta, hijo de Amós.
and sent Eliakim who was over the household and Shebna the scribe and the elders of the priests, covered with sackcloth, —unto Isaiah the prophet, Son of Amoz;
3 Los cuales le dijeron: Ezequías dice así: día de angustia, de reprensión, y de blasfemia es este día; porque los hijos han llegado hasta la rotura, y no hay fuerza en la que pare.
and they said unto him, Thus, saith Hezekiah, A day of distress and rebuke and reviling, is this day, —For children are come to the birth, and, strength, is there none to bring forth.
4 Quizá oirá Jehová tu Dios las palabras de Rabsaces, al cual envió el rey de Asiria su señor a blasfemar al Dios vivo, y a reprender con las palabras que oyó Jehová tu Dios: alza pues oración tú por los restos que han aun quedado.
It may be, that Yahweh thy God will hear the words of Rabshakeh whom the king of Assyria his lord, hath sent to reproach a Living God, and will rebuke the words which Yahweh thy God hath heard, —Wherefore lift thou up a prayer, for the remnant that remaineth.
5 Vinieron pues los siervos de Ezequías a Isaías.
So the servants of King Hezekiah came unto Isaiah.
6 Y díjoles Isaías: Diréis así a vuestro señor: Jehová dice así: No temas por las palabras que has oído, con las cuales me han blasfemado los siervos del rey de Asiria.
And Isaiah said unto them, Thus, shall ye, surely say, unto your lord, —Thus, saith Yahweh—Be not thou afraid because of the words which thou hast heard, wherewith the servants of the king of Assyria have reviled, Me.
7 He aquí que yo doy en él un espíritu, y oirá un rumor, y volverse ha a su tierra; y yo haré que en su tierra caiga a cuchillo.
Behold me! about to let go against him a blast of alarm, and when he heareth the report, then will he return to his own country, —and I will cause him to fall by the sword in his own land.
8 Vuelto pues Rabsaces halló al rey de Asiria, que batía a Lebna; porque ya había oído que se había apartado de Laquis.
So Rabshakeh returned, and found the king of Assyria, warring against Libnah, —for he had heard, that he had broken up from Lachish.
9 Mas oyendo decir de Taraca, rey de Etiopía: He aquí que ha salido para hacerte guerra: en oyéndolo, envió mensajeros a Ezequías, diciendo:
And he heard it reported concerning Tirhakah king of Ethiopia, saying, He hath come forth to fight with thee, —so when he heard it, he sent messengers unto Hezekiah, saying:
10 Diréis así a Ezequías, rey de Judá: No te engañe tu Dios, en quien tú confías, diciendo: Jerusalem no será entregada en mano del rey de Asiria.
Thus, shall ye surely speak unto Hezekiah king of Judah, saying, Let not thy God, in whom, thou, art trusting, beguile thee, saying, —Jerusalem, shall not be given over, into the hand of the king of Assyria.
11 He aquí que tu oíste lo que hicieron los reyes de Asiria a todas las tierras, como las destruyeron: ¿escaparte has tú?
Lo! thou, thyself, hast heard what the kings of Assyria have done to all the lands in devoting them to destruction, —and shalt, thou, be delivered?
12 ¿Libraron los dioses de las naciones a los que destruyeron mis antepasados, a Gozán, y Harán, Rezef, y a los hijos de Edén, que moraban en Telasar?
Did the gods of the nations, deliver them, whom my fathers destroyed, —Gozan, and Haran, —and Rezeph, and the sons of Eden, who were in Telassar?
13 ¿Dónde está el rey de Hamat, y el rey de Arfad, el rey de la ciudad de Sefarvaim, de Ana, y de Hava?
Where are the king of Hamath, and the king of Arpad, and the king of the city of Sepharvaim, —of Hena, and Ivvah?
14 Y tomó Ezequías las cartas de las manos de los mensajeros, y leyólas, y subió a la casa de Jehová, y extendiólas delante de Jehová.
And, when Hezekiah had received the letter at the hand of the messengers, and had read it, then went he up to the house of Yahweh, and Hezekiah spread it out, before Yahweh.
15 Entonces Ezequías oró a Jehová, diciendo:
And Hezekiah prayed unto Yahweh saying:
16 Jehová de los ejércitos, Dios de Israel, que moras entre los querubines, tú eres Dios solo sobre todos los reinos de la tierra: tú hiciste los cielos, y la tierra.
O Yahweh of hosts, God of Israel—inhabiting the cherubim, Thou thyself, art GOD, even thou alone, for all the kingdoms of the earth: Thou, didst make the heavens and the earth.
17 Inclina, o! Jehová, tu oído, y oye: abre, o! Jehová, tus ojos, y mira, y oye todas las palabras de Senaquerib, el cual envió a blasfemar al Dios viviente.
Bow down, O Yahweh, thine ear—and hear, Open, O Yahweh, thine eyes—and see, —Yea hear thou all the words of Sennacherib, who hath sent—to reproach a Living God.
18 Ciertamente, o! Jehová, los reyes de Asiria destruyeron todas las tierras, y sus comarcas;
Of a truth, O Yahweh, —the kings of Assyria have devoted to destruction all the countries, and their land;
19 Y a los dioses de ellos pusieron en fuego; porque no eran dioses, mas obra de manos de hombre, madero y piedra; por eso los deshicieron.
and have put their gods in the fire, —for, no-gods, were they, but the work of the hands of men wood and stone and so they destroyed them.
20 Ahora pues, Jehová Dios nuestro, líbranos de su mano, para que todos los reinos de la tierra conozcan, que tú, o! Jehová, eres solo.
Now, therefore, O Yahweh our God, save us, out of his hand, —That all the kingdoms of the earth, may know, That, thou, art Yahweh, thou alone.
21 Entonces Isaías, hijo de Amós, envió a decir a Ezequías: Jehová Dios de Israel dice así: Acerca de lo que me rogaste de Senaquerib, rey de Asiria;
Then Isaiah son of Amoz sent unto Hezekiah saying, —Thus, saith Yahweh, God of Israel, In that thou hast prayed unto me concerning Sennacherib king of Assyria,
22 Esto es lo que Jehová habló de él: ¿Háte menospreciado? ¿ha hecho escarnio de ti, o! virgen hija de Sión? ¿meneó su cabeza a tus espaldas, o! hija de Jerusalem?
this, is the word which Yahweh hath spoken concerning him, —The virgin daughter of Zion, laugheth thee to scorn—mocketh thee, The daughter of Jerusalem after thee doth wag her head,
23 ¿A quién injuriaste, y a quién blasfemaste? ¿Contra quién alzaste tu voz, y alzaste tus ojos en alto? Contra el alto Santo de Israel.
Whom, hast thou reproached and insulted? And, against whom, hast thou lifted high thy voice? Yea thou hast proudly raised thine eyes, against the Holy One of Israel.
24 Por mano de tus siervos denostaste al Señor, y dijiste: Yo con la multitud de mis carros subiré a las alturas de los montes, a las cuestas del Líbano: cortaré sus altos cedros, sus hayas escogidas: después vendré a lo alto de su fin, al monte de su Carmelo.
Through thy servants, thou hast reproached My Lord and hast said, —With my multitude of chariots, have I ascended The height of the mountains The recesses of Lebanon, That I may cut down Its tallest cedars Its choicest firs, That I may enter Its highest summit, Its thick garden forest:
25 Yo cavé, y bebí las aguas: con las pisadas de mis pies secaré todos los ríos de munición.
I, have digged, and drunk waters, —That I may dry up, with the soles of my feet, all the Nile-streams of Egypt.
26 ¿No has oído decir, que yo la hice de luengo tiempo, que yo la formé de días antiguos? Ahora la he hecho venir, y será para destrucción de ciudades fuertes en montones de asolamiento.
Hast thou not heard—That, long ago, that, is what I appointed, And from days of old, devised? Now, have I brought it to pass, That thou mightest Serve to lay waste, in desolate ruins, fortified cities;
27 Y sus moradores, cortos de manos, quebrantados, y avergonzados: serán grama del campo, y hortaliza verde: yerba de los tejados, que antes de madura se seca.
And their inhabitants, being powerless, were overthrown and put to shame—They became—Grass of the field and Young herbage, Grass on housetops, and Seed parched before it came up.
28 Tu estada, tu salida, y tu entrada, he entendido; y tu furor contra mí.
Howbeit, thine abode and thy coming out and thy going in, I know, —and thy raging against me.
29 Porque te airaste contra mí, y tu estruendo ha subido a mis oídos: pondré pues mi anzuelo en tu nariz, y mi freno en tus labios, y hacerte he tornar por el camino por donde veniste.
Because, thy raging against me, and thy contempt, have come up into mine ears, Therefore will I put My ring in thy nose, and My bit in thy lips, And will turn thee back, by the way by which thou camest.
30 Y esto te será por señal: Comerás este año lo que nace de suyo; y el año segundo también lo que nace de suyo; y el año tercero sembraréis, y segaréis, y plantaréis viñas, y comeréis el fruto de ellos.
And, this unto thee, is the sign, Eating this year, the growth of scattered seeds, And in the second year, that which shooteth up of itself, —Then in the third year, Sow ye—and reap, and Plant ye vineyards, and eat the fruit thereof.
31 Y lo que hubiere escapado de la casa de Judá, tornará a echar raíz abajo, y hará fruto arriba.
Then shall the escaped of the house of Judah that remain, again, Take root downward, —And bear fruit upward.
32 Porque de Jerusalem saldrán residuos, y del monte de Sión escapada. El zelo de Jehová de los ejércitos hará esto.
For, out of Jerusalem, shall come forth a remnant, And that which hath escaped, out of Mount Zion, —the jealousy of Yahweh of hosts, will perform, this.
33 Por tanto así dice Jehová acerca del rey de Asiria: No entrará en esta ciudad, ni echará saeta en ella: no vendrá delante de ella escudo, ni será echado sobre ella baluarte.
Therefore, thus, saith Yahweh, concerning the king of Assyria, He shall not enter this city, Nor shoot there, an arrow, —Nor attack it with shield, Nor cast up against it a mound:
34 Por el camino que vino, se tornará, y no entrará en esta ciudad, dice Jehová.
By the way that he Came in, By the Same, shall he return, —And into this city, shall he not enter, Declareth Yahweh.
35 Y yo ampararé a esta ciudad para salvarla por amor de mí, y por amor de David mi siervo.
Thus will I throw a covering over this city to save it, —For mine own sake, And for the sake of David my servant.
36 Y salió el ángel de Jehová, e hirió ciento y ochenta y cinco mil en el campo de los Asirios; y cuando se levantaron por la mañana, he aquí que todo era cuerpos de muertos.
Then went forth the messenger of Yahweh, and smote—in the camp of the Assyrians—a hundred and eighty-five thousand, —and when men arose early in the morning, lo! they were all, dead bodies!
37 Entonces Senaquerib rey de Asiria partiéndose se fue, y se tornó; e hizo su morada en Nínive.
So Sennacherib the king of Assyria brake up, and went his way, and returned, —and remained in Nineveh.
38 Y acaeció, que estando orando en el templo de Nisroc su dios, Adramelec y Sarezer sus hijos le hirieron a cuchillo, y huyeron a la tierra de Armenia; y reinó en su lugar Asaradón su hijo.
And it came to pass, as he was bowing down in the house of Nisroch his god, that, Adrammelech and Sharezer his sons, smote him with the sword, howbeit, they, escaped into the land of Ararat, —and, Esarhaddon his son, reigned, in his stead.
