Isaías 3
1 Porque he aquí que el Señor Jehová de los ejércitos quita de Jerusalem, y de Judá, el sustentador y la sustentadora, todo el vigor del pan, y todo el vigor del agua:
For lo! the Lord, Yahweh of hosts, removing from Jerusalem and from Judah, The stay and staff, —The whole stay of bread, And the whole stay of water:
2 Valiente y varón de guerra, juez y profeta, adivino, y anciano,
Man of might and man of war, —Judge and prophet And diviner and elder;
3 Capitán de cincuenta, y hombre de respeto, consejero, y artífice excelente, y sabio de elocuencia.
Captain of fifty, and favourite; And counsellor and skilled artificer, And master of magical formulas;
4 Y ponerles he mozos por príncipes, y muchachos serán sus señores.
And I will appoint boys to be their princes, —And, petulant children, shall rule over them,
5 Y el pueblo hará violencia los unos a los otros, cada hombre contra su vecino: el mozo se levantará contra el viejo, y el plebeyo contra el noble.
And the people will, tyrannise, Every man over his fellow-man, And every man over his friend, —And they will rage The boy against, the elder, And the despised, against, the honourable,
6 Cuando alguno trabare de su hermano de la familia de su padre, y le dijere: ¿Qué vestir tienes? Tú serás nuestro príncipe: sea en tu mano esta perdición.
When a man shall lay hold, on his brother of the house of his father, [saying] —Clothing, hast thou, Become thou our, ruler, This downfall, be under thy hand,
7 El jurará aquel día, diciendo: No tomaré ese cuidado; porque en mi casa ni hay pan, ni que vestir: no me hagáis príncipe del pueblo.
He will swear, in that day, saying—I will take no control, When in mine own house, is neither food nor clothing, —Ye must not set me for a ruler of people!
8 Cierto arruinado se ha Jerusalem, y caído ha Judá; porque la lengua de ellos y sus obras han sido contra Jehová, para irritar los ojos de su majestad.
For stumbled hath Jerusalem, and, Judah, hath fallen, —Because, their tongue and their doings, are against Yahweh, Provoking his glorious presence,
9 La prueba del rostro de ellos los convencerá: que como Sodoma predicaron su pecado, no lo disimularon: ¡ay de su vida! porque allegaron mal para sí.
The show of their face, hath answered against them, And their sin—like Sodom, have they told, they have not concealed it. Alas for their souls! For they have requited to themselves, calamity.
10 Decíd: Al justo bien le irá; porque comerá de los frutos de sus manos.
Say ye to the righteous It is well! For the fruit of their doings, shall they eat:
11 ¡Ay del impío! mal le irá; porque según las obras de sus manos le será pagado.
Alas! for the lawless, it is ill, For what his own hand hath matured, shall be done to him.
12 Los exactores de mi pueblo son muchachos, y mujeres se enseñorearon de él. Pueblo mío, los que te guian se engañan, y tuercen la carrera de tus caminos.
My people! children, are their tyrants, And, women, rule over them, —My people! they who should lead thee forward, are causing thee to stray, Thy pathways, have they destroyed,
13 Jehová está en pie para litigar, y está para juzgar los pueblos.
Yahweh hath taken his station to plead, —And is standing to judge peoples:
14 Jehová vendrá a juicio contra los ancianos de su pueblo, y contra sus príncipes; porque vosotros pacisteis la viña, y el despojo del pobre está en vuestras casas.
Yahweh, into judgment, will enter, With the elders of his people And their princes, —But ye, have consumed the vineyard, That which hath been robbed from the oppressed, is in your houses.
15 ¿Qué tenéis vosotros, que majáis mi pueblo, y moléis las caras de los pobres? dice el Señor Jehová de los ejércitos.
What right have ye to crush my people, And the faces of the oppressed, to grind? Demandeth My Lord Yahweh of hosts—And Yahweh saith—
16 Dice también Jehová: Porque las hijas de Sión se ensoberbecen, y andan el cuello levantado, y los ojos descompuestos, y cuando andan van como danzando, y haciendo son con los pies:
Because haughty are the daughters of Zion, And they walk with neck thrown back, and wanton eyes, —Tripping along as they go, And with their feet, making, a tinkling sound,
17 Por tanto herirá el Señor, con roña, la mollera de las hijas de Sión, y Jehová descubrirá sus vergüenzas.
Therefore will My Lord, smite with leprosy the crown of hair of the daughters of Zion, —And, as for Yahweh, their shame, will he lay bare!
18 Aquel día quitará el Señor el atavío de los calzados, y las redecillas, y las lunetas,
In that day, will My Lord remove the finery—of the anklets, and the little suns and the little moons;
19 Las bujetas, las ajorcas, y las diademas,
the pendants and the bracelets and the veils;
20 Las tiaras, los atavíos de las piernas, las vendas, las ampollas, y los zarcillos,
the chaplets and the armlets and the girdles, and the scent-cases, and the amulets;
21 Los anillos, y los joyeles de las narices,
the rings and the nose-jewels;
22 Las ropas de remuda, las manteletas, las escofias, y los alfileres,
the robes, and the over-tunics, and the cloaks and the purses;
23 Los espejos, los pañizuelos, las tocas, y los tocados.
and the mirrors and the linen wraps, and the tiaras and the cloaks.
24 Y será que en lugar de los perfumes aromáticos vendrá hediondez, y rompimiento en lugar de la cinta; y en lugar de la compostura de los cabellos peladura, y en lugar de la faja ceñimiento de saco, y quemadura en lugar de la hermosura.
And it shall come to pass—That instead of fragrance, a putrid odour, shall be, And instead of a girdle, an encircling rope, And instead of braided hair, baldness, And instead of a festal robe, a girding of sackcloth, Branding instead of beauty:
25 Tus varones caerán a cuchillo; y tu fuerza en guerra.
Thy males, by the sword shall fall, —And, thy mighty men, by the war;
26 Sus puertas se entristecerán y se enlutarán; y ella desamparada se asentará en tierra.
And her gates shall mourn and lament, —And forsaken, on the ground, shall she sit.
