Isaías 21
1 Carga del desierto de la mar. Como los torbellinos que pasan por el desierto en la región del mediodía, que vienen de la tierra horrible.
The oracle on the desert of the sea: As storm-winds in the South which with a rush from the desert, do come from a terrible land,
2 Visión dura me ha sido mostrada: para un prevaricador, otro prevaricador; y para un destruidor, otro destruidor. Sube, Persa: cerca, Medo. Todo su gemido hice cesar.
[So] hath, a grievous vision, been told me: —the deceiver, is deceiving. And the spoiler, is spoiling, Go up, O Elam Besiege O Media, All the sighing she hath caused, have I made to cease.
3 Por tanto mis lomos se hinchieron de dolor: angustias me comprendieron, como angustias de mujer de parto: agobiéme oyendo, y espantéme viendo.
For this cause, are my loins filled with anguish, Pangs, have seized me, as the pangs of her that is giving birth, —I writhe so that I cannot hear, I tremble, so that I cannot see:
4 Mi corazón se despavorió, asombróme el horror: la noche de mi deseo me tornó en espanto.
My heart fluttereth, A horror, terrifieth me, —My twilight of pleasure, hath he turned for me into a time of trembling.
5 Pon la mesa: mira de la atalaya: come, bebe, levantáos, príncipes, ungíd escudo.
[Ye thought] to prepare the table—spread the mat—eat—drink! …Arise ye chieftains anoint the shield!
6 Porque el Señor me dijo así: Vé, pon centinela, que haga saber lo que viere.
For, thus, hath My Lord said unto me, —Go, set the watchman, What he seeth, let him tell!
7 Y vio un carro de un par de caballeros, un carro de asno, y un carro de camello: luego miró muy más atentamente,
When he seeth A train of horsemen in double rank, A train of asses, A train of camels, Then shall he hearken attentively with diligent heed.
8 Y dijo a voces: León sobre atalaya: Señor, yo estoy continuamente todo el día, y las noches enteras sobre mi guarda.
Then cried he. A lion! On the watch, O My Lord, had I been standing continually, by day, And at my post, had I been stationed whole nights; —
9 Y, he aquí, este carro de hombres viene, un par de caballeros. Y habló, y dijo: Cayó, cayó Babilonia; y todos los ídolos de sus dioses quebrantó en tierra.
When lo! here was a train of men coming. With horsemen in double rank, —And one began and said, Fallen! fallen! is Babylon, And all the images of her gods, are smashed to the ground!
10 Trilla mía, y paja de mi era: díchoos he lo que oí de Jehová de los ejércitos, Dios de Israel.
O thou My threshing! And the grain of my corn-floor! That which I have heard from Yahweh of hosts, the God of Israel, Have I declared, unto you.
11 Carga de Duma. Dánme voces de Seir: Guarda, ¿qué hay esta noche? Guarda, ¿qué hay esta noche?
The oracle on Dumah: Unto me, is one crying—out of Seir, Watchman! how far gone is the night? Watchman, how far gone is the night?
12 El que guarda respondió: La mañana viene, y después la noche. Si preguntareis, preguntád, volvéd, y veníd.
Said the watchman, There cometh a morning. But also a night, —If ye will enquire, enquire, ye—Come, again!
13 Carga sobre Arabia. En el monte tendréis la noche en Arabia, o! caminantes de Dedanim.
The oracle on Arabia, —Among the shrubs in Arabia, must ye lodge, Ye caravans of Dedanites.
14 Salió al encuentro llevando aguas al sediento, o! moradores de tierra de Tema: socorréd con su pan al que huye.
To meet the thirsty, bring ye water, —Ye dwellers in the land of Tema; With bread for him, get in advance of him that is in flight!
15 Porque de la presencia de las espadas huyen, de la presencia de la espada desnuda, de la presencia del arco entesado, de la presencia del peso de la batalla.
For, before swords, have they fled: Before a sword that is drawn, Before a bow that is bent, And before the stress of war.
16 Porque Jehová me ha dicho así: De aquí a un año, semejante a años de mozo de soldada, se deshará toda la gloria de Cedar.
For, thus, hath My Lord said unto me, —Within a year according to the yearn of a hireling, shall fail all the glory of Kedar;
17 Y los restos del número de los valientes flecheros, hijos de Cedar, serán apocados; porque Jehová Dios de Israel lo ha dicho.
And, the remnant of the record of bowmen, The heroes of the sons of Kedar, shall become few; For Yahweh God of Israel, hath spoken.
