Isaías 2
1 Palabra que vio Isaías, hijo de Amós, tocante a Judá, y a Jerusalem.
That which Isaiah, son of Amoz saw in vision, —concerning Judah and Jerusalem.
2 Y acontecerá en lo postrero de los tiempos, que será confirmado el monte de la casa de Jehová por cabeza de los montes, y será ensalzado sobre los collados; y correrán a él todas las naciones.
But it shall come to pass, in the afterpart of the days, That the mountain of the house of Yahweh Shall be, set up, as the head of the mountains, And be exalted above the hills, —And all the nations, shall stream thereunto;
3 Y vendrán muchos pueblos, y dirán: Veníd, y subamos al monte de Jehová, a la casa del Dios de Jacob, y enseñarnos ha en sus caminos, y caminaremos por sus sendas; porque de Sión saldrá la ley, y de Jerusalem la palabra de Jehová.
And many peoples shall go and say—Come ye, and let us ascend Unto the mountain of Yahweh Unto the house of the God of Jacob, That he may teach us of his ways, And we may walk in his paths, —For, out of Zion, shall go forth a law, And the word of Yahweh out of Jerusalem;
4 Y juzgará entre las naciones, y reprenderá a muchos pueblos; y volverán sus espadas en azadones, y sus lanzas en hoces: no alzará espada nación contra nación, ni se ensayarán más para la guerra.
And he will judge between the nations, And be umpire to many peoples, —And they will beat their swords into ploughshares and their spears into pruning-hooks, Nation—against nation, shall not lift up sword, Neither shall they learn any more to make war,
5 Veníd, o! casa de Jacob, y caminemos a la luz de Jehová.
O house of Jacob! come ye and let us walk in the light of Yahweh.
6 Ciertamente tú has dejado tu pueblo, a la casa de Jacob; porque se han henchido de oriente, y de agoreros, como los Filisteos, y en hijos ajenos descansaron.
Therefore hast thou abandoned thy people the house of Jacob, Because they have become full of the East, And use hidden arts like the Philistines, —And with the children of foreigners, strike hands; —
7 Su tierra está llena de plata y oro, sus tesoros no tienen fin: también está llena su tierra de caballos, ni sus carros tienen número.
So that filled is their land with silver and gold, And there is no end to their treasures, —And filled is their land with horses, And there is no end to their chariots;
8 También está llena su tierra de ídolos; y a la obra de sus manos se han arrodillado, a lo que fabricaron sus dedos.
And filled is their land with idols, —To the work of their own hands, do they bow themselves down, To that which they made with their own fingers.
9 Y todo hombre se ha inclinado, y todo varón se ha humillado: por tanto no los perdonarás.
So the mean man boweth down And the great man stoopeth low, —Therefore do not thou forgive them!
10 Métete en la piedra, escóndete en el polvo de la presencia espantosa de Jehová, y del resplandor de su majestad.
Enter into the rock, Or hide thee in the dust, —Because of the terribleness of Yahweh, And for his majestic splendour.
11 La altivez de los ojos del hombre será abatida, y la soberbia de los hombres será abajada; y Jehová solo será ensalzado en aquel día.
The lofty looks of mean men, shall be humbled, And, the haughtiness of great men, shall be bowed down, —And Yahweh alone shall be exalted in that day.
12 Porque día de Jehová de los ejércitos vendrá sobre todo soberbio y altivo, y sobre todo ensalzado, y será abajado;
For, a day of Yahweh of hosts, [shall be] —Upon every one who is high and lofty, —And upon every one who is lifted up, And he shall be brought low;
13 Y sobre todos los cedros del Líbano, altos y sublimes; y sobre todos los alcornoques de Basán;
And upon all cedars of Lebanon, that are high and lifted up, —And upon all the oaks of Bashan;
14 Y sobre todos los montes altos, y sobre todos los collados levantados;
And upon all the lofty mountains, —And upon all the uplifted hills;
15 Y sobre toda torre alta, y sobre todo muro fuerte;
And upon every high tower, —And upon every fortress wall;
16 Y sobre todas las naves de Társis; y sobre todas pinturas preciadas.
And upon all the ships of Tarshish, —And upon all desirable banners.
17 Y la altivez del hombre será abajada, y la soberbia de los hombres será abatida; y Jehová solo será ensalzado en aquel día.
And the haughtiness of mean men, shall be humbled, —And the loftiness of great men, shall be laid low, —And Yahweh alone shall be exalted in that day.
18 Y quitará totalmente los ídolos;
And, the idols, shall wholly pass away;
19 Y meterse han en las cavernas de las peñas, y en las aberturas de la tierra de la presencia espantosa de Jehová, y del resplandor de su majestad, cuando él se levantará para herir la tierra.
And they shall enter into the holes of the rocks, and into the caves of clay, —Because of the terribleness of Yahweh, And for his majestic splendour, When he ariseth to shake terribly the earth.
20 Aquel día el hombre arrojará en las cuevas, de los topos, y de los murciélagos, sus ídolos de plata, y sus ídolos de oro, que le hicieron para que adorase.
In that day shall the son of earth cast his idols of silver, and his idols of gold, —which had been made for him to worship, into the hole of the mice, and to the bats;
21 Y meterse han en las hendeduras de las piedras, y en las cavernas de las peñas delante de la presencia temerosa de Jehová, y del resplandor de su majestad, cuando se levantará para herir la tierra.
That he may enter into the clefts of the rocks, and into the fissures of the crags, —Because of the terribleness of Yahweh, And for his majestic splendour, When he ariseth to shake terribly the earth.
22 Dejáos, pues, del hombre, cuyo espíritu está en su nariz; porque, ¿de qué es estimado él?
Cease ye from the son of earth, In whose nostrils is but a breath, —For wherein to be reckoned upon, is he?
