Oseas 11

1 Cuando Israel era muchacho, yo le amé, y de Egipto llamé a mi hijo.

When Israel was a child, I loved him, And called my son out of Egypt,

2 Clamaban a ellos, así ellos se iban de su presencia: a los Baales sacrificaban, y a las esculturas ofrecían sahumerios.

But they turned away from those that called them. They sacrificed to images of Baal; They burned incense to idols.

3 Yo con todo eso guiaba en pies al mismo Efraím: levantóles en sus brazos, y no conocieron que yo los procuraba.

I helped Ephraim to go, Yea, I took them up in my arms; Yet they marked not that I healed them.

4 Con cuerdas humanas los traje, con cuerdas de amor; y fui para ellos como los que alzan el yugo sobre sus mejillas, y llegué hacia él la comida.

I drew them with human cords, with bands of love; I was to them as those who lift up the yoke from their jaws; I dealt gently with them, and gave them food.

5 No tornará a tierra de Egipto, mas el mismo Asur será su rey, porque no se quisieron convertir.

They shall no more go down to Egypt; For the Assyrian shall be their king, Because they refuse to return to me.

6 Y caerá espada sobre sus ciudades, y consumirá sus aldeas: consumirlas ha a causa de sus consejos.

The sword shall fall upon their cities, It shall consume their bars, and devour Because of their devices.

7 Mas mi pueblo está colgado de la rebelión contra mí; y aunque le llaman al Altísimo, de ninguno de todos es ensalzado.

For my people persevere in turning away from me; Though they are called to the Most High, None will exalt him.

8 ¿Cómo te dejaré, Efraím? ¿cómo te entregaré, Israel? ¿cómo te pondré como Adama, y te tornaré como Seboim? Mi corazón se revuelve dentro de mí, todos mis arrepentimientos son encendidos.

How shall I give thee up, Ephraim? How shall I abandon thee, Israel? How shall I make thee as Admah? How shall I set thee as Zeboim? My heart is changed within me; Yea, my compassion is kindled.

9 No ejecutaré la ira de mi furor: no me volveré para destruir a Efraím; porque Dios soy, y no hombre: Santo en medio de ti, y no entraré en ciudad.

I will not execute the fierceness of mine anger; I will not again destroy Ephraim; For I am God, and not man, The Holy One in the midst of thee, And I will not come in anger.

10 En pos de Jehová caminarán: él bramará como león, él cierto bramará, y los hijos del occidente temblarán.

They shall walk after Jehovah, when he shall roar like a lion, When he shall roar, then shall their sons hasten from the west;

11 Temblarán como ave los de Egipto, y como paloma los de la tierra de Asiria; y ponerlos he en sus casas, dijo Jehová.

They shall hasten as a bird from Egypt, And as a dove from the land of Assyria, And I will place them in their houses, saith Jehovah.

12 Cercóme con mentira Efraím, y con engaño la casa de Israel. Judá aun domina con Dios, y con los santos es fiel.

Ephraim compasseth me about with falsehood, And the house of Israel with deceit; Judah also is inconstant toward God, Toward the holy and faithful one.
