Hageo 1
1 En el año segundo del rey Darío, en el mes sexto, en el primer día del mes, fue palabra de Jehová por mano del profeta Aggeo, a Zorobabel, hijo de Salatiel, gobernador de Judá; y a Josué, hijo de Josedec, gran sacerdote, diciendo:
IN the second year of Darius the king, in the sixth month, in the first day of the month, came the word of the Lord by Haggai the prophet unto Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and to Joshua the son of Josedech, the high priest, saying,
2 Jehová de los ejércitos habla así, diciendo: Este pueblo dice: No es aun venido el tiempo, el tiempo de la casa de Jehová para edificarse.
Thus speaketh the Lord of hosts, saying, This people say, The time is not come, the time that the Lord’s house should be built.
3 Fue pues palabra de Jehová por mano del profeta Aggeo, diciendo:
Then came the word of the Lord by Haggai the prophet, saying,
4 ¿Tenéis vosotros tiempo, vosotros, para morar en vuestras casas dobladas, y esta casa será desierta?
Is it time for you, O ye, to dwell in your cieled houses, and this house lie waste?
5 Pues así dijo Jehová de los ejércitos: Pensád bien sobre vuestros caminos:
Now therefore thus saith the Lord of hosts; Consider your ways.
6 Sembráis mucho, y encerráis poco: coméis, y no os hartáis: bebéis, y no os embriagáis: os vestís, y no os calentáis; y el que anda a jornal, recibe su jornal en trapo horadado.
Ye have sown much, and bring in little; ye eat, but ye have not enough; ye drink, but ye are not filled with drink; ye clothe you, but there is none warm; and he that earneth wages earneth wages to put it into a bag with holes.
7 Así dijo Jehová de los ejércitos: Pensád bien sobre vuestros caminos.
Thus saith the Lord of hosts; Consider your ways.
8 Subíd al monte, y traed madera, y edificád la casa; y pondré en ella mi voluntad, y honrarme he con ella, dijo Jehová.
Go up to the mountain, and bring wood, and build the house; and I will take pleasure in it, and I will be glorified, saith the Lord.
9 Miraréis a mucho, y hallaréis poco; y encerraréis en casa, y yo lo soplaré. ¿Por qué? dijo Jehová de los ejércitos. Por cuanto mi casa está desierta, y cada uno de vosotros corre a su casa.
Ye looked for much, and, lo, it came to little; and when ye brought it home, I did blow upon it. Why? saith the Lord of hosts. Because of mine house that is waste, and ye run every man unto his own house.
10 Por esto se detuvo la lluvia de los cielos sobre vosotros, y la tierra detuvo sus frutos.
Therefore the heaven over you is stayed from dew, and the earth is stayed from her fruit.
11 Y llamé a la sequedad sobre esta tierra, y sobre los montes, y sobre el trigo, y sobre el vino, y sobre el aceite, y sobre todo lo que la tierra produce; y sobre los hombres, y sobre las bestias, y sobre todo trabajo de manos.
And I called for a drought upon the land, and upon the mountains, and upon the corn, and upon the new wine, and upon the oil, and upon that which the ground bringeth forth, and upon men, and upon cattle, and upon all the labour of the hands.
12 Y oyó Zorobabel, hijo de Salatiel, y Josué, hijo de Josedec, gran sacerdote, y todo el demás pueblo la voz de Jehová su Dios, y las palabras del profeta Aggeo, como le había enviado Jehová el Dios de ellos; y temió el pueblo delante de Jehová.
Then Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, and Joshua the son of Josedech, the high priest, with all the remnant of the people, obeyed the voice of the Lord their God, and the words of Haggai the prophet, as the Lord their God had sent him, and the people did fear before the Lord.
13 Y habló Aggeo embajador de Jehová en la embajada de Jehová al pueblo, diciendo: Yo con vosotros, dijo Jehová.
Then spake Haggai the Lord’s messenger in the Lord’s message unto the people, saying, I am with you, saith the Lord.
14 Y despertó Jehová el espíritu de Zorobabel, hijo de Salatiel, gobernador de Judá, y el espíritu de Josué, hijo de Josedec, gran sacerdote, y el espíritu de todo el resto del pueblo, y vinieron, e hicieron obra en la casa de Jehová de los ejércitos su Dios,
And the Lord stirred up the spirit of Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and the spirit of Joshua the son of Josedech, the high priest, and the spirit of all the remnant of the people; and they came and did work in the house of the Lord of hosts, their God,
15 En el día veinte y cuatro del mes sexto, en el segundo año del rey Darío.
In the four and twentieth day of the sixth month, in the second year of Darius the king.
