Génesis 35

1 Y dijo Dios a Jacob: Levántate, sube a Bet-el, y está allí: y haz allí altar al Dios, que te apareció cuando huías de tu hermano Esaú.

Then said God unto Jacob, Arise, go up to Bethel, and dwell there, —and make there an altar, to the GOD who appeared unto thee, when thou fleddest from the face of Esau thy brother.

2 Entonces Jacob dijo a su familia, y a todos los que estaban con él: Quitád los dioses ajenos que hay entre vosotros, y limpiaos, y mudád vuestros vestidos:

And Jacob said unto his house, and unto all who were with him, —Put away the gods of the alien which are in your midst, and purify yourselves, and change your garments;

3 Y levantémonos, y subamos a Bet-el: y allí haré altar al Dios que me respondió en el día de mi angustia, y ha sido conmigo en el camino que he andado.

And let us arise, and go up to Beth-el, —that I may make there an altar to the GOD who answered me in the day of my distress, and was with me in the way that I went.

4 Así dieron a Jacob todos los dioses ajenos que había en su poder, y los zarcillos que estaban en sus orejas; y Jacob los escondió debajo de un alcornoque, que estaba en Siquem.

So they gave unto Jacob all the gods of the alien which were in their hand, and the earrings which were in their ears, —and Jacob hid them under the oak, which was by Shechem.

5 Y partiéronse; y el terror de Dios fue sobre las ciudades que estaban en sus alrededores, y no siguieron tras los hijos de Jacob.

And they brake up, —and it came to pass that the terror of God, was on the cities which were round about them, so that they pursued not after the sons of Jacob.

6 Y vino Jacob a Luza, que era en tierra de Canaán, esta es Bet-el; él y todo el pueblo que con él estaba.

And Jacob came in towards Luz, which was in the land of Canaan, the same, is Beth-el, —he and all the people who were with him.

7 Y edificó allí altar, y llamó al lugar, El-bet-el; porque allí le había aparecido Dios cuando huía de su hermano.

And he built there an altar, and called the place El-Beth-el, —because, there, God revealed himself unto him, when he fled from the face of his brother,

8 Entonces murió Débora, ama de Rebeca, y fue sepultada a las raíces de Bet-el, debajo de un alcornoque; y llamó su nombre, Allón-bacut.

And Deborah, Rebekah’s nurse died, and was buried below Beth-el, under the oak, —so the name thereof was called, Allon-bacuth.

9 Y aparecióse otra vez Dios a Jacob cuando fue vuelto de Padan-aram, y bendíjole.

And God appeared unto Jacob again, when he came in from Padan-aram, —and blessed him.

10 Y díjole Dios: Tu nombre es Jacob, no se llamará más tu nombre Jacob, mas Israel será tu nombre: y llamó su nombre Israel.

And God said to him, Thy name, is Jacob, —Thy name shall no longer be called Jacob But, Israel, shall be thy name. So he called his name, Israel.

11 Y díjole Dios: Yo soy el Dios omnipotente, crece y multiplícate: gente, y compañía de gente, saldrá de ti; y reyes saldrán de tus lomos.

And God said to him—I, am GOD Almighty! Be fruitful and multiply, A nation, and a multitude of nations shall spring from thee, —And, kings, from thy loins, shall come forth;

12 Y la tierra, que yo he dado a Abraham y a Isaac, te daré a ti; y a tu simiente después de ti daré la tierra.

And, the land which I gave to Abraham and to Isaac, To thee, will I give it, —And to thy seed after thee, will I give the land.

13 Y fuése de él Dios, del lugar donde había hablado con él.

And God went up from him at the place where he had spoken with him.

14 Y Jacob puso un título en el lugar donde había hablado con él, un título de piedra: y derramó sobre él derramadura, y echó sobre él aceite.

And Jacob set up a pillar in the place where he had spoken with him, a pillar of stone, —and he poured out thereon a drink-offering, and poured thereon oil.

15 Y llamó Jacob el nombre de aquel lugar donde Dios había hablado con él, Bet-el.

And Jacob called the name of the place where God had spoken with him, Beth-el.

16 Y partieron de Bet-el, y había aun como medía legua de tierra para venir a Efrata; y parió Raquel, y hubo trabajo en su parto.

Then brake they up from Beth-el, and it came to pass when there was yet a stretch of country, to enter into Ephrath, that Rachel was in childbirth, and had hard-labour in her child-birth.

17 Y fue, que como hubo trabajo en su parir, díjole la partera: No temas, que aun este hijo también tendrás.

So it came to pass when she was in hard-labour in her child-birth, that the midwife said to her—Do not fear, for this also of thine, is, a son.

18 Y fue, que saliéndosele el alma, porque murió, llamó su nombre Ben-oni; mas su padre le llamó Ben-jamín.

And it came to pass when her soul was going forth—for she died, that she called his name Ben-oni, —but, his father, called him, Ben-jamin.

19 Así murió Raquel; y fue sepultada en el camino de Efrata, esta es Belén.

So Rachel died, —and was buried on the way to Ephrath, the same, is Bethlehem.

20 Y puso Jacob un título sobre su sepultura; este es el título de la sepultura de Raquel, hasta hoy.

And Jacob set up a pillar, over her grave, —the same, is—The Pillar of the Grave of Rachel until this day.

21 Y partió Israel, y tendió su tienda de la otra parte de la torre de Eder.

Then Israel brake up, —and spread his tent at a distance from Migdal Eder.

22 Y fue que morando Israel en aquella tierra, fue Rubén, y durmió con Bala la concubina de su padre: lo cual oyó Israel. Y fueron los hijos de Israel doce.

And it came to pass while Israel inhabited that land, that Reuben went and lay with Bilhah his father’s concubine; and Israel heard of it. And so the Sons of Israel came to be Twelve.

23 Los hijos de Lia: el primogénito de Jacob, Rubén; y Simeón, y Leví, y Judá, e Isacar, y Zabulón.

The sons of Leah, the firstborn of Jacob, Reuben, —And Simeon and Levi and Judah, and Issachar and Zebulon:

24 Los hijos de Raquel: José, y Ben-jamín.

The sons of Rachel, Joseph and Benjamin:

25 Y los hijos de Bala, sierva de Raquel: Dan, y Neftalí.

And the sons of Bilhah, handmaid of Rachel, Dan, and Naphtali:

26 Y los hijos de Zelfa, sierva de Lia: Gad, y Aser. Estos fueron los hijos de Jacob, que le nacieron en Padan-aram.

And the sons of Zilpah, handmaid of Leah, Gad and Asher: These, are the sons of Jacob, who were born to him, in Padan-aram.

27 Y vino Jacob a Isaac su padre a Mamré, ciudad de Arbee, esta es Hebrón, donde habitó Abraham e Isaac.

Then came Jacob unto Isaac his father, to Mamre, the city of Arba, —the same, is Hebron, where had sojourned Abraham and Isaac.

28 Y fueron los días de Isaac ciento y ochenta años.

And the days of Isaac came to be—a hundred and eighty years.

29 Y espiró Isaac y murió; y fue recogido a sus pueblos viejo, y harto de días, y sepultáronle Esaú y Jacob sus hijos.

And Isaac breathed his last, and died and was added unto his people, old, and satisfied with days, —and Esau and Jacob his sons buried him.
