Génesis 3
1 Empero la serpiente era astuta más que todos los animales del campo, que Jehová Dios había hecho: la cual dijo a la mujer: Cuanto más que Dios dijo: No comáis de todo árbol del huerto.
Now, the serpent, was more crafty than any living thing of the field which Yahweh God had made, so he said unto the woman, Can it really be that God hath said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?
2 Y la mujer respondió a la serpiente: Del fruto de los árboles del huerto comemos;
And the woman said unto the serpent, —Of the fruit of the trees of the garden, we may eat;
3 Mas del fruto del árbol que está en medio del huerto dijo Dios; No comeréis de él, ni tocaréis en él, porque no muráis.
but of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said Ye shall not eat of it neither shall ye touch it, —lest ye die.
4 Entonces la serpiente dijo a la mujer: No moriréis.
And the serpent said unto the woman, —Ye shall not die,
5 Mas sabe Dios, que en el día que comiereis de él, serán abiertos vuestros ojos; y seréis como dioses, sabiendo el bien y el mal.
For God doth know, that in the day ye eat thereof, then shall your eyes be opened, —and ye shall become like God, knowing good and evil.
6 Y vio la mujer que el árbol era bueno para comer, y que era deseable a los ojos, y árbol de codicia para entender: y tomó de su fruto, y comió, y dio también a su marido, y comió con ella.
And, when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was desirable to the eyes and the tree was pleasant to make one knowing, then took she of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and she gave to her husband also, along with her, and he did eat.
7 Y fueron abiertos los ojos de ellos ambos, y conocieron que estaban desnudos: entonces cosieron hojas de higuera, e hiciéronse delantales.
Then were opened the eyes of them both, and they knew that, naked, they were, —so they tacked together fig-leaves, and made for themselves girdles,
8 Y oyeron la voz de Jehová Dios, que se paseaba en el huerto al aire del día; y escondióse el hombre y su mujer de delante de Jehová Dios entre los árboles del huerto.
Then heard they the sound of Yahweh God, walking to and fro in the garden at the breeze of the day, —so he hid himself—the man with his wife, from the face of Yahweh God, amid the trees of the garden.
9 Y llamó Jehová Dios al hombre, y díjole: ¿Dónde estás tú?
And Yahweh God called unto the man, —and said to him, Where art thou?
10 Y él respondió: Oí tu voz en el huerto, y tuve miedo; porque estaba desnudo: y escondíme.
And he said, The sound of thee, heard I in the garden, and I was afraid, for, naked, was I, so I hid myself.
11 Y díjole: ¿Quién te enseñó, que estabas desnudo? ¿Has comido del árbol de que yo te mandé que no comieses?
And he said, Who told thee that, naked, thou wast? Of the tree whereof I commanded thee not to eat, hast thou eaten?
12 Y el hombre respondió: La mujer que diste para estar conmigo, ella me dio del árbol, y comí.
And the man said, —The woman whom thou didst put with me, she, gave me of the tree, so I did eat.
13 Entonces Jehová Dios dijo a la mujer: ¿Qué es esto que hiciste? Y dijo la mujer: La serpiente me engañó, y comí.
Then said Yahweh God to the woman, What is this that thou hast done? And the woman said, the serpent, deceived me, so I did eat.
14 Y Jehová Dios dijo a la serpiente: Porque hiciste esto, maldita serás más que todas las bestias, y que todos los animales del campo: sobre tu pecho andarás, y polvo comerás todos los días de tu vida.
Then said Yahweh God unto the serpent—Because thou hast done this, Accursed, art thou above every tame-beast, and above every wild-beast of the field, —on thy belly, shalt thou go, and dust, shalt thou eat all the days of thy life.
15 Y enemistad pondré entre ti y la mujer, y entre tu simiente y su simiente; esta te herirá en la cabeza, y tú le herirás en el calcañar.
And enmity, will I put between thee, and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed, —He shall crush thy head, but, thou, shalt crush his heel.
16 A la mujer dijo: Multiplicando multiplicaré tus dolores, y tus preñeces: con dolor parirás los hijos, y a tu marido será tu deseo, y él se enseñoreará de ti.
Unto the woman, he said, I will, increase, thy pain of pregnancy, In pain, shalt thou bear children, —Yet, unto thy husband, shall be thy longing, Though, he, rule over thee.
17 Y al hombre dijo: Porque obedeciste a la voz de tu mujer, y comiste del árbol de que te mandé, diciendo: No comerás de él: Maldita será la tierra por amor de ti: con dolor comerás de ella todos los días de tu vida.
And, to the man, he said, Because thou didst hearken to the voice of thy wife, and so didst eat of the tree as to which I commanded thee, saying, Thou shalt not eat of it, Accursed be the ground for thy sake, In pain, shalt thou eat of it, all the days of thy life;
18 Espinos y cardos te producirá, y comerás yerba del campo.
Thorn also and thistle, shall it shoot forth to thee, —when thou hast come to eat of the herb of the field:
19 En el sudor de tu rostro comerás el pan, hasta que vuelvas a la tierra, porque de ella fuiste tomado: Porque polvo eres, y al polvo serás tornado.
In the sweat of thy face, shalt thou eat bread, until thou return to the ground, because therefrom, wast thou taken, —For, dust, thou art, And, unto dust, shalt thou return.
20 Y llamó el hombre el nombre de su mujer, Eva: por cuanto ella era madre de todos los vivientes.
So the man called the name of his wife, Eve, —in that, she, was made mother of every one living.
21 Y Jehová Dios hizo al hombre y a su mujer túnicas de pieles, y vistiólos.
And Yahweh God made for the man—and for his wife—tunics of skin and clothed them.
22 Y dijo Jehová Dios: He aquí, el hombre es como uno de nos, sabiendo el bien y el mal: ahora pues, porque no meta su mano, y tome también del árbol de la vida, y coma, y viva para siempre.
Then said Yahweh God—Lo! man, hath become like one of us, in respect of knowing good and evil, —Now, therefore, lest he thrust forth his hand, and take even of the tree of life, and eat, and live to times age-abiding, —
23 Y sacóle Jehová del huerto de Edén, para que labrase la tierra, de que fue tomado.
So Yahweh God put him forth from the garden of Eden, —to till the ground wherefrom he had been taken.
24 Y echó al hombre, y puso al oriente del huerto de Edén querubines, y una espada flamante que andaba alrededor, para guardar el camino del árbol de la vida.
So he expelled the man, —and caused to dwell—in front of the garden of Eden—cherubim and a brandishing sword—flame, to keep the way to the tree of life.
