Génesis 21
1 Y visitó Jehová a Sara, como había dicho; e hizo Jehová con Sara como había hablado.
And Jehovah visited Sarah as he had said, and Jehovah did to Sarah as he had spoken.
2 Que concibió y parió Sara a Abraham un hijo en su vejez, en el tiempo que Dios dijo.
And Sarah conceived, and bore Abraham a son in his old age, at the set time of which God had spoken to him.
3 Y llamó Abraham el nombre de su hijo, que le nació, que le parió Sara, Isaac.
And Abraham called the name of his son who was born to him, whom Sarah bore to him, Isaac.
4 Y circuncidó Abraham a su hijo Isaac de ocho días, como Dios le mandó.
And Abraham circumcised his son Isaac when he was eight days old, as God had commanded him.
5 Y era Abraham de cien años, cuando le nació Isaac su hijo.
And Abraham was a hundred years old, when his son Isaac was born to him.
6 Entonces dijo Sara: Risa me ha hecho Dios; y cualquiera que lo oyere, se reirá conmigo.
And Sarah said, God has made me to laugh. Everyone who hears will laugh with me.
7 Y dijo: ¿Quién dijera a Abraham, que Sara había de dar leche a hijos? que le he parido un hijo a su vejez.
And she said, Who would have said to Abraham, that Sarah should give sons suck? For I have borne him a son in his old age.
8 Y creció el niño, y fue destetado; e hizo Abraham gran banquete el día que fue destetado Isaac.
And the child grew, and was weaned. And Abraham made a great feast on the day that Isaac was weaned.
9 Y vio Sara al hijo de Agar la Egipcia, que había parido a Abraham, que se burlaba.
And Sarah saw the son of Hagar the Egyptian, whom she had borne to Abraham, mocking.
10 Y dijo a Abraham: Echa a esta sierva y a su hijo, que el hijo de esta sierva no ha de heredar con mi hijo, con Isaac.
Therefore she said to Abraham, Cast out this handmaid and her son. For the son of this handmaid shall not be heir with my son, even with Isaac.
11 Este dicho pareció grave en gran manera a Abraham a causa de su hijo.
And the thing was very grievous in Abraham's sight on account of his son.
12 Entonces dijo Dios a Abraham: No te parezca grave a causa del mozo y de tu sierva: en todo lo que te dijere Sara, oye en su voz; porque en Isaac te será llamada generación.
And God said to Abraham, Let it not be grievous in thy sight because of the lad, and because of thy handmaid. In all that Sarah says to thee, hearken to her voice. For in Isaac shall thy seed be called.
13 Y también al hijo de la sierva pondré en gente, porque es tu simiente.
And also I will make a nation of the son of the handmaid, because he is thy seed.
14 Entonces Abraham se levantó muy de mañana, y tomó pan, y un cuero de agua, y diólo a Agar poniéndolo sobre su hombro; y dióle al muchacho, y envióla: y ella fue, y perdióse en el desierto de Beer-seba.
And Abraham rose up early in the morning, and took bread and a bottle of water, and gave it to Hagar, putting it on her shoulder, and the child, and sent her away. And she departed, and wandered in the wilderness of Beersheba.
15 Y faltóle el agua del cuero, y echó el muchacho debajo de un árbol,
And the water in the bottle was spent, and she cast the child under one of the shrubs.
16 Y fuése, y sentóse en derecho, alejándose cuanto un tiro de arco, diciendo: No veré cuando el muchacho morirá; y sentóse en derecho, y alzó su voz y lloró.
And she went, and sat herself down opposite him a good way off, as it were a bowshot. For she said, Let me not look upon the death of the child. And she sat opposite him, and lifted up her voice, and wept.
17 Y oyó Dios la voz del muchacho: y el ángel de Dios dio voces a Agar desde los cielos, y díjole: ¿Qué has Agar? no hayas miedo; porque Dios ha oído la voz del muchacho en donde está.
And God heard the voice of the lad. And the agent of God called to Hagar out of heaven, and said to her, What troubles thee, Hagar? Fear not, for God has heard the voice of the lad where he is.
18 Levántate, alza el muchacho, y tómale de tu mano; que en gran gente le tengo de poner.
Arise, lift up the lad, and hold him in thy hand, for I will make him a great nation.
19 Entonces abrió Dios sus ojos, y vio una fuente de agua; y fue, e hinchió el cuero de agua, y dio de beber al muchacho.
And God opened her eyes, and she saw a well of water. And she went, and filled the bottle with water, and gave the lad drink.
20 Y fue Dios con el muchacho; y creció, y habitó en el desierto, y fue tirador de arco.
And God was with the lad, and he grew. And he dwelt in the wilderness, and became, as he grew up, an archer.
21 Y habitó en el desierto de Farán, y su madre le tomó mujer de la tierra de Egipto.
And he dwelt in the wilderness of Paran. And his mother took for him a wife out of the land of Egypt.
22 Y fue en aquel mismo tiempo, que habló Abimelec, y Ficol príncipe de su ejército a Abraham, diciendo: Dios es contigo en todo cuanto haces.
And it came to pass at that time, that Abimelech and Phicol the captain of his army spoke to Abraham, saying, God is with thee in all that thou do.
23 Ahora, pues, júrame aquí por Dios, que no faltarás a mí, y a mi hijo, y a mi nieto: conforme a la misericordia que yo hice contigo, harás tú conmigo, y con la tierra donde has peregrinado.
Now therefore swear to me here by God that thou will not deal falsely with me, nor with my son, nor with my son's son. But according to the kindness that I have done to thee, thou shall do to me, and to the land in which thou have sojourned.
24 Y respondió Abraham: Yo juraré.
And Abraham said, I will swear.
25 Y Abraham reprendió a Abimelec a causa de un pozo de agua, que los siervos de Abimelec le habían tomado.
And Abraham reproved Abimelech because of the well of water which Abimelech's servants had taken away violently.
26 Y respondió Abimelec: Yo no sé quien haya hecho esto: ni tampoco tú me lo hiciste saber, ni yo lo he oído hasta hoy.
And Abimelech said, I know not who has done this thing, neither did thou tell me, nor yet did I hear of it, but today.
27 Y tomó Abraham ovejas y vacas, y dio a Abimelec, e hicieron ambos alianza.
And Abraham took sheep and oxen, and gave them to Abimelech. And the two made a covenant.
28 Y puso Abraham siete corderas de la manada a parte.
And Abraham set seven ewe lambs of the flock by themselves.
29 Y dijo Abimelec a Abraham: ¿Qué significan estas siete corderas, que has puesto a parte?
And Abimelech said to Abraham, What do these seven ewe lambs mean which thou have set by themselves?
30 Y él respondió: Que estas siete corderas tomarás de mi mano, para que me sea en testimonio, que yo cavé este pozo.
And he said, These seven ewe lambs thou shall take from my hand, that it may be a witness to me, that I have dug this well.
31 Por esto llamó a aquel lugar Beer-seba; por que allí juraron ambos.
Therefore he called that place Beersheba, because there they swore both of them.
32 E hicieron alianza en Beer-seba: y levantóse Abimelec, y Ficol príncipe de su ejército, y volviéronse a tierra de los Filisteos.
So they made a covenant at Beersheba. And Abimelech rose up, and Phicol the captain of his army, and they returned into the land of the Philistines.
33 Y plantó un bosque en Beer-seba, e invocó allí el nombre de Jehová Dios eterno.
And Abraham planted a tamarisk tree in Beersheba, and there called on the name of Jehovah, the Everlasting God.
34 Y moró Abraham en tierra de los Filisteos muchos días.
And Abraham sojourned in the land of the Philistines many days.
