Génesis 18
1 Y aparecióle Jehová en el alcornocal de Mamré, estando él sentado a la puerta de su tienda, cuando comenzaba el calor del día.
And God appeared to him by the oak of Mambre, as he sat by the door of his tent at noon.
2 Y alzó sus ojos, y miró, y he aquí tres varones, que estaban junto a él: y como los vio, salió corriendo a recibirlos desde la puerta de su tienda, e inclinóse a tierra.
And he lifted up his eyes and beheld, and lo! three men stood before him; and having seen them he ran to meet them from the door of his tent, and did obeisance to the ground.
3 Y dijo: Señor, si ahora he hallado gracia en tus ojos, ruégote que no pases de tu siervo.
And he said, Lord, if indeed I have found grace in thy sight, pass not by thy servant.
4 Tómese ahora un poco de agua, y lavad vuestros pies, y recostaos debajo de un árbol:
Let water now be brought, and let them wash your feet, and do ye refresh [yourselves] under the tree.
5 Y tomaré un bocado de pan, y sustentad vuestro corazón, después pasaréis; porque por eso habéis pasado cerca de vuestro siervo. Y ellos dijeron: Haz así como has hablado.
And I will bring bread, and ye shall eat, and after this ye shall depart on your journey, on account of which [refreshment] ye have turned aside to your servant. And he said, So do, as thou hast said.
6 Entonces Abraham fue a priesa a la tienda a Sara, y díjole: Toma presto tres medidas de flor de harina, amasa y haz panes cocidos debajo de la ceniza.
And Abraam hasted to the tent to Sarrha, and said to her, Hasten, and knead three measures of fine flour, and make cakes.
7 Y corrió Abraham a las vacas, y tomó un becerro tierno y bueno, y dióle al mozo, y dióse priesa a aderezarlo.
And Abraam ran to the kine, and took a young calf, tender and good, and gave it to his servant, and he hasted to dress it.
8 Tomó también manteca y leche, y el becerro que había aderezado, y púsolo delante de ellos; y él estaba junto a ellos debajo del árbol, y comieron.
And he took butter and milk, and the calf which he had dressed; and he set them before them, and they did eat, and he stood by them under the tree.
9 Y dijéronle: ¿Dónde está Sara tu mujer? Y él respondió: Aquí en la tienda.
And he said to him, Where is Sarrha thy wife? And he answered and said, Behold! in the tent.
10 Entonces dijo: Volviendo volveré a ti según el tiempo de la vida, y, he aquí, tendrá un hijo Sara tu mujer. Y Sara escuchaba a la puerta de la tienda: y ella estaba detrás de él.
And he said, I will return and come to thee according to this period seasonably, and Sarrha thy wife shall have a son; and Sarrha heard at the door of the tent, being behind him.
11 Y Abraham y Sara eran viejos, entrados en días: ya a Sara había cesado la costumbre de las mujeres.
And Abraam and Sarrha were old, advanced in days, and the custom of women ceased with Sarrha.
12 Y rióse Sara entre sí, diciendo: ¿Después que he envejecido, tendré deleite? Así mismo mi señor es ya viejo.
And Sarrha laughed in herself, saying, The thing has not as yet happened to me, even until now, and my lord is old.
13 Entonces Jehová dijo a Abraham: ¿Por qué se ha reído Sara, diciendo; De cierto tengo de parir, que soy ya vieja?
And the Lord said to Abraam, Why is it that Sarrha has laughed in herself, saying, Shall I then indeed bear? but I am grown old.
14 ¿Esconderse ha de Jehová alguna cosa? Al tiempo señalado volveré a ti según el tiempo de la vida, y Sara tendrá un hijo.
Shall anything be impossible with the Lord? At this time I will return to thee seasonably, and Sarrha shall have a son.
15 Entonces Sara negó, diciendo: No me reí, porque tuvo miedo. Y él dijo: No es así; porque te reíste.
But Sarrha denied, saying, I did not laugh, for she was afraid. And he said to her, Nay, but thou didst laugh.
16 Y los varones se levantaron de allí, y miraron hacia Sodoma: y Abraham iba con ellos acompañándolos.
And the men having risen up from thence looked towards Sodom and Gomorrha. And Abraam went with them, attending them on their journey.
17 Y Jehová dijo: ¿Encubro yo de Abraham lo que yo hago:
And the Lord said, Shall I hide from Abraam my servant what things I intend to do?
18 Habiendo de ser Abraham en gran gente y fuerte, y habiendo de ser benditas en él todas las naciones de la tierra?
But Abraam shall become a great and populous nation, and in him shall all the nations of the earth be blest.
19 Porque yo lo he conocido, que mandará a sus hijos y a su casa después de sí, que guarden el camino de Jehová, haciendo justicia y juicio, para que haga venir Jehová sobre Abraham lo que ha hablado sobre él.
For I know that he will order his sons, and his house after him, and they will keep the ways of the Lord, to do justice and judgment, that the Lord may bring upon Abraam all things whatsoever he has spoken to him.
20 Entonces Jehová le dijo: El clamor de Sodoma y de Gomorra, porque se ha engrandecido, y el pecado de ellos, porque se ha agravado en gran manera.
And the Lord said, The cry of Sodom and Gomorrha has been increased towards me, and their sins are very great.
21 Descenderé ahora, y veré, si según su clamor que ha venido hasta mí, hayan hecho consumación: y si no, saberlo he.
I will therefore go down and see, if they completely correspond with the cry which comes to me, and if not, that I may know.
22 Y apartáronse de allí los varones, y fueron a Sodoma: mas Abraham estuvo aún delante de Jehová.
And the men having departed thence, came to Sodom; and Abraam was still standing before the Lord.
23 Y acercóse Abraham, y dijo: ¿Destruirás también al justo con el impío?
And Abraam drew nigh and said, Wouldest thou destroy the righteous with the wicked, and shall the righteous be as the wicked?
24 Quizá hay cincuenta justos dentro de la ciudad: ¿destruirás también, y no perdonarás al lugar por cincuenta justos que estén dentro de él?
Should there be fifty righteous in the city, wilt thou destroy them? wilt thou not spare the whole place for the sake of the fifty righteous, if they be in it?
25 Nunca tal hagas, que hagas morir al justo con el impío: ¿y que sea el justo como el impío? Nunca tal hagas. El Juez de toda la tierra, ¿no ha de hacer derecho?
By no means shalt thou do as this thing [is] so as to destroy the righteous with the wicked, so the righteous shall be as the wicked: by no means. Thou that judgest the whole earth, shalt thou not do right?
26 Entonces respondió Jehová: Si hallare en Sodoma cincuenta justos dentro de la ciudad, perdonaré a todo este lugar por amor de ellos.
And the Lord said, If there should be in Sodom fifty righteous in the city, I will spare the whole city, and the whole place for their sakes.
27 Y Abraham replicó, y dijo: He aquí, ahora que he comenzado a hablar a mi Señor, aunque soy polvo y ceniza;
And Abraam answered and said, Now I have begun to speak to my Lord, and I am earth and ashes.
28 Quizá faltarán de cincuenta justos, cinco: ¿destruirás por aquellos cinco, que falten, toda la ciudad? Y dijo: No la destruiré, si hallare allí cuarenta y cinco.
But if the fifty righteous should be diminished to forty-five, wilt thou destroy the whole city because of the five [wanting]? And he said, I will not destroy it, if I should find there forty-five.
29 Y añadió más a hablarle, y dijo: ¿Quizá se hallarán allí cuarenta? Y respondió: No lo haré por cuarenta.
And he continued to speak to him still, and said, But if there should be found there forty? And he said, I will not destroy it for the forty's sake.
30 Y dijo: No se enoje ahora mi Señor, si hablare: ¿Quizá se hallarán allí treinta? Y respondió: No lo haré si hallare allí treinta.
And he said, Will there be anything [against me], Lord, if I shall speak? but if there be found there thirty? And he said, I will not destroy it for the thirty's sake.
31 Y dijo: He aquí ahora que he comenzado a hablar a mi Señor: ¿Quizá se hallarán allí veinte? Respondió: No destruiré por veinte.
And he said, Since I am able to speak to the Lord, what if there should be found there twenty? And he said, I will not destroy it, if I should find there twenty.
32 Y volvió a decir: No se enoje ahora mi Señor, si hablare solamente una vez: ¿Quizá se hallarán allí diez? Respondió: No destruiré por diez.
And he said, Will there be anything [against me], Lord, if I speak yet once? but if there should be found there ten? And he said, I will not destroy it for the ten's sake.
33 Y se fue Jehová después que acabó de hablar a Abraham: y Abraham se volvió a su lugar.
And the Lord departed, when he left off speaking to Abraam, and Abraam returned to his place.
