Ezequiel 15

1 Y fue palabra de Jehová a mí, diciendo:

And thee word of the Lord came vnto me, saying,

2 Hijo del hombre, ¿qué es el palo de la vid más que todo palo? ¿el sarmiento, qué es entre los maderos del monte?

Sonne of man, what commeth of the vine tree aboue all other trees? and of the vine braunch, which is among the trees of ye forest?

3 ¿Tomarán de él madera para hacer alguna obra? ¿Tomarán de él una estaca para colgar de ella algún vaso?

Shall wood bee taken thereof to doe any worke? or wil men take a pin of it to hang any vessel thereon?

4 He aquí que es puesto en el fuego para ser consumido, sus dos cabos consumió el fuego, y la parte del medio se quemó: ¿aprovechará para alguna obra?

Behold, it is cast in the fire to be consumed: the fire consumeth both the endes of it, and the middes of it is burnt. Is it meete for any worke?

5 He aquí que cuando estaba entero, no era para alguna obra, ¿cuánto menos después que el fuego lo hubiere consumido, y fuere quemado? ¿será más para alguna obra?

Behold, when it was whole, it was meete for no worke: how much lesse shall it bee meete for any worke, when the fire hath consumed it, and it is burnt?

6 Por tanto así dijo el Señor Jehová: Como el palo de la vid entre los maderos del monte, el cual yo entregué al fuego, para que lo consuma, así he entregado a los moradores de Jerusalem.

Therefore thus sayth the Lord God, As the vine tree, that is among the trees of the forest, which I haue giuen to the fire to be consumed, so will I giue the inhabitants of Ierusalem.

7 Y pondré mi rostro contra ellos; de un fuego salieron, y otro fuego los consumirá; y sabréis que yo soy Jehová, cuando yo pusiere mi rostro contra ellos.

And I will set my face against them: they shall go out from one fire, and another fire shall consume them: and ye shall know, that I am the Lord, when I set my face against them,

8 Y tornaré la tierra en asolación, por cuanto rebelaron con rebelión, dijo el Señor Jehová.

And when I make the lande waste, because they haue greatly offended, saith the Lord God.
