Éxodo 19
1 Al tercero mes de la salida de los hijos de Israel de la tierra de Egipto, en aquel día vinieron al desierto de Sinaí.
In the third month, by the coming forth of the sons of Israel out of the land of Egypt, on this day, came they into the desert of Sinai:
2 Y partieron de Rafidim, y vinieron al desierto de Sinaí, y asentaron en el desierto, y asentó allí Israel delante del monte.
then was it that they brake up out of Rephidim and came into the desert of Sinai, and encamped in the desert, —yea Israel encamped there before the mountain.
3 Y Moisés subió a Dios: y Jehová le llamó desde el monte, diciendo: Así dirás a la casa de Jacob, y denunciarás a los hijos de Israel:
And when Moses, had gone up unto God, then called Yahweh unto him out of the mountain saying, Thus, shalt thou say to the house of Jacob, And tell the sons of Israel:
4 Vosotros visteis lo que hice a los Egipcios, y como os tomé sobre alas de águilas, y os he traído a mí.
Ye, have seen what I did unto the Egyptians, —And how I bare you upon wings of eagles, And brought you in unto myself: —
5 Ahora pues si oyendo oyereis mi voz, y guardareis mi concierto, vosotros seréis mi tesoro sobre todos los pueblos; porque mía es toda la tierra.
Now, therefore, if ye will, indeed hearken, to my voice, And keep my covenant, Then shall ye be mine as a treasure beyond all the peoples, For, mine, is all the earth;
6 Y vosotros seréis mi reino de sacerdotes y gente santa. Estas son las palabras que dirás a los hijos de Israel.
But, ye, shall be mine, As a kingdom of priests, And a holy nation. These, are the words, which thou shalt speak unto the sons of Israel.
7 Entonces vino Moisés, y llamó a los ancianos del pueblo, y propuso en presencia de ellos todas estas palabras, que Jehová le había mandado.
Then came Moses, and called for the elders of the people, —and put before them all these words which Yahweh had commanded him.
8 Y todo el pueblo respondió a una, y dijeron: Todo lo que Jehová ha dicho, haremos. Y Moisés relató las palabras del pueblo a Jehová.
And all the people responded together and said, All that Yahweh hath spoken, will we do. And Moses took back the words of the people, unto Yahweh.
9 Y Jehová dijo a Moisés: He aquí, yo vengo a ti en una nube espesa, para que el pueblo oiga mientras yo hablo contigo, y también para que te crean para siempre. Y Moisés denunció las palabras del pueblo a Jehová.
Then said Yahweh unto Moses: Lo! I, am coming unto thee in the veiling of cloud, in order that the people may hear when I speak with thee, moreover also, that, in thee, they may trust to times age-abiding. Then told Moses the words of the people unto Yahweh.
10 Y Jehová dijo a Moisés: Vé al pueblo, y santifícalos hoy y mañana, y laven sus vestidos:
And Yahweh said unto Moses—Go unto the people, and thou shalt hallow them to-day, and to-morrow, —and they shall wash their clothes;
11 Y estén apercebidos para el tercero día; porque al tercero día Jehová descenderá a ojos de todo el pueblo sobre el monte de Sinaí.
and shall be ready, by the third day, —for on the third day, will Yahweh come down in the sight of all the people upon Mount Sinai.
12 Y señalarás término al pueblo al rededor, diciendo: Guardáos, no subáis al monte, ni toquéis a su término: cualquiera que tocare el monte, que muera de muerte.
So then thou shalt set bounds for the people round about saying, Take heed to yourselves—that ye go not up into the mountain, nor touch the boundary thereof, whosoever toucheth the mountain, shall, surely die.
13 No le tocará mano, mas será apedreado, o asaeteado: sea animal, o sea hombre, no vivirá. En habiendo sonado luengamente el cuerno, subirán al monte.
No hand shall touch it but he shall be, surely stoned, or be, surely shot, whether beast or man, he shall not live, —When the ram’s horn soundeth, they themselves, shall come up within the mount,
14 Y descendió Moisés del monte al pueblo, y santificó al pueblo, y lavaron sus vestidos.
Then Moses went down out of the mount, unto the people, —and hallowed the people, and they washed their clothes.
15 Y dijo al pueblo: Estád apercebidos para el tercero día: no lleguéis a mujer.
And he said unto the people, Be ready, by the third day, —do not approach a woman.
16 Y aconteció al tercero día cuando vino la mañana, que vinieron truenos y relámpagos, y grave nube sobre el monte; y un sonido de bocina muy fuerte: y estremecióse todo el pueblo que estaba en el real.
And it came to pass on the third day, when the morning had come, that there were thunderings and lightnings, and a heavy cloud upon the mount, and the sound of a horn, loud exceedingly, —and all the people who were in the camp trembled.
17 Y Moisés sacó del real al pueblo a recibir a Dios, y pusiéronse a lo bajo del monte.
And Moses brought forth the people, to meet God out of the camp, —and they stationed themselves in the lower part of the mount,
18 Y todo el monte de Sinaí humeaba, porque Jehová había descendido sobre él en fuego: y el humo de él subía, como el humo de un horno, y todo el monte se estremeció en gran manera.
And Mount Sinai, smoked, all over, because Yahweh had come down thereon in fire, —and the smoke thereof went up as the smoke of a furnace, and all the mountain trembled exceedingly.
19 Y el sonido de la bocina iba esforzándose en gran manera: Moisés hablaba, y Dios le respondía en voz.
And as oft as the sound of the horn went on and became exceeding loud, Moses, spake and, God, responded to him with a voice.
20 Y descendió Jehová sobre el monte de Sinaí, sobre la cumbre del monte, y llamó Jehová a Moisés a la cumbre del monte: Y Moisés subió.
Thus came Yahweh down upon Mount Sinai unto the top of the mount, —and Yahweh called Moses unto the top of the mount, and Moses went up.
21 Y Jehová dijo a Moisés: Desciende, requiere al pueblo, que no derriben el término por ver a Jehová; que caerá multitud de él.
Then said Yahweh unto Moses, Go down, adjure the people, —lest they press through unto Yahweh to see, and so there fall from among them a multitude.
22 Y también los sacerdotes que se llegan a Jehová, se santifiquen, porque Jehová no haga en ellos portillo.
Yea, even the priests who do approach unto Yahweh, must hallow themselves, —lest Yahweh break in upon them.
23 Y Moisés dijo a Jehová: El pueblo no podrá subir al monte de Sinaí; porque tú nos has requerido, diciendo: Señala términos al monte, y santifícalo.
And Moses said unto Yahweh, The people cannot come up into Mount Sinai, —for, thou thyself, hast adjured us saying: Set bounds to the mountain and hallow it.
24 Y Jehová le dijo: Vé, desciende, y subirás tú y Aarón contigo: mas los sacerdotes y el pueblo no derriben el término por subir a Jehová, porque no haga en ellos portillo.
And Yahweh said unto him—Away, down, then shalt thou come up, thou and Aaron with thee, —but as for the priests and the people, let it not be that they press through to come up unto Yahweh lest he break in upon them.
25 Entonces Moisés descendió al pueblo, y habló con ellos.
So Moses went down unto the people, —and said [these things] unto them.
