Efesios 5
1 Así pues sed imitadores de Dios, como hijos amados;
Be you therefore followers of God, as dear children;
2 Y andád en amor, como también Cristo nos amó, y se entregó a sí mismo por nosotros por ofrenda y sacrificio a Dios de olor suave.
And walk in love, as Christ also has loved us, and has given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet smelling smell.
3 Mas la fornicación y toda inmundicia, o avaricia, ni aun se miente entre vosotros, como conviene a santos:
But fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not be once named among you, as becomes saints;
4 Ni palabras torpes, ni insensatas, ni truhanerías, que no convienen; sino antes hacimientos de gracias.
Neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor jesting, which are not convenient: but rather giving of thanks.
5 Porque ya habéis entendido esto, que ningún fornicario, o inmundo, o avaro, que es un idólatra, tiene herencia en el reino de Cristo, y de Dios.
For this you know, that no fornicator, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God.
6 Nadie os engañe con palabras vanas; porque a causa de estas cosas viene la ira de Dios sobre los hijos de desobediencia.
Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things comes the wrath of God on the children of disobedience.
7 No seáis pues participantes con ellos.
Be not you therefore partakers with them.
8 Porque en otro tiempo eráis tinieblas, mas ahora sois luz en el Señor: andád como hijos de luz;
For you were sometimes darkness, but now are you light in the Lord: walk as children of light:
9 (Porque el fruto del Espíritu es en toda bondad, y justicia, y verdad: )
(For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth; )
10 Aprobando lo que es agradable al Señor.
Proving what is acceptable to the Lord.
11 Y no tengáis parte en las obras infrutuosas de las tinieblas; mas antes reprobad las.
And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them.
12 Porque lo que estos hacen en oculto, torpe cosa es aun decirlo.
For it is a shame even to speak of those things which are done of them in secret.
13 Mas todas las cosas que son reprobadas, son hechas manifiestas por la luz; porque lo que manifiesta todo, la luz es.
But all things that are reproved are made manifest by the light: for whatever does make manifest is light.
14 Por lo cual dice: Despiértate tú que duermes, y levántate de entre los muertos, y te alumbrará Cristo.
Why he says, Awake you that sleep, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give you light.
15 Mirád, pues, que andéis avisadamente: no como necios, mas como sabios,
See then that you walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise,
16 Redimiendo el tiempo, porque los días son malos.
Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.
17 Por tanto no seáis imprudentes, sino entendidos de cual sea la voluntad del Señor.
Why be you not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is.
18 Y no os emborrachéis con vino, en el cual hay disolución; antes sed llenos del Espíritu;
And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit;
19 Hablando entre vosotros con salmos, y con himnos, y canciones espirituales, cantando y salmeando al Señor en vuestros corazones;
Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord;
20 Dando gracias siempre por todas las cosas a Dios y al Padre en el nombre del Señor nuestro Jesu Cristo.
Giving thanks always for all things to God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ;
21 Sujetándoos los unos a los otros en el temor de Dios.
Submitting yourselves one to another in the fear of God.
22 Las casadas sean sujetas a sus propios maridos, como al Señor.
Wives, submit yourselves to your own husbands, as to the Lord.
23 Porque el marido es cabeza de la mujer, así como Cristo es cabeza de la iglesia; y él es el Salvador del cuerpo.
For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the savior of the body.
24 Como pues la iglesia es sujeta a Cristo, así también las casadas lo sean a sus propios maridos en todo.
Therefore as the church is subject to Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in every thing.
25 Maridos, amád a vuestras mujeres, así como Cristo amó a la iglesia, y se entregó a sí mismo por ella,
Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;
26 Para santificarla, limpiándola en el lavamiento del agua por la palabra,
That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word,
27 Para que la presentase a sí mismo, iglesia gloriosa, que no tuviese mancha, ni arruga, ni cosa semejante; sino que fuese santa y sin mancha.
That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.
28 Así han también los maridos de amar a sus mujeres, como a sus mismos cuerpos: el que ama a su mujer, a sí mismo ama.
So ought men to love their wives as their own bodies. He that loves his wife loves himself.
29 Porque ninguno aborreció jamás su propia carne; antes la sustenta y regala, como también el Señor a la iglesia.
For no man ever yet hated his own flesh; but nourishes and cherishes it, even as the Lord the church:
30 Porque somos miembros de su cuerpo, de su carne, y de sus huesos.
For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones.
31 Por causa de esto dejará el hombre a su padre y a su madre, y apegarse ha a su mujer; y los dos serán una misma carne.
For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined to his wife, and they two shall be one flesh.
32 Este misterio grande es; mas yo hablo en cuanto a Cristo y a la iglesia.
This is a great mystery: but I speak concerning Christ and the church.
33 Empero vosotros también, cada uno en particular, ame tanto a su propia mujer como a sí mismo; y la mujer, mire que tenga en reverencia a su marido.
Nevertheless let every one of you in particular so love his wife even as himself; and the wife see that she reverence her husband.
