Efesios 2

1 Y a vosotros os dio vida, estando muertos en vuestros delitos y pecados,

and you also [[he raised up]], who were dead through your trespasses and sins,

2 En que en otro tiempo anduvisteis, conforme a la condición de este mundo, conforme a la voluntad del príncipe de la potestad del aire, del espíritu que ahora obra en los hijos de la desobediencia: (aiōn g165)

in which ye once walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the powers of the air, the spirit that is now working in the sons of disobedience; (aiōn g165)

3 Entre los cuales todos nosotros también conversamos en otro tiempo en los deseos de nuestra carne, haciendo las voluntades de la carne y de los pensamientos, y éramos por naturaleza hijos de ira, también como los demás.

among whom even we all had our way of life in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the thoughts, and were by nature children of wrath, even as others;

4 Empero Dios, que es rico en misericordia, por su mucho amor con que nos amó,

but God, who is rich in mercy, on account of his great love wherewith he loved us, gave to us,

5 Aun estando nosotros muertos en pecados, nos dio vida juntamente con Cristo, (por gracia sois salvos; )

even when dead through our trespasses, life with Christ, —by grace have ye been saved, —

6 Y nos resucitó juntamente con él, y asimismo nos ha hecho asentar en los cielos con Cristo Jesús;

and raised us up with him, and caused us to sit with him in the heavenly regions in Christ Jesus,

7 Para mostrar en los siglos venideros las abundantes riquezas de su gracia, en su bondad para con nosotros en Cristo Jesús. (aiōn g165)

that he might show in the ages to come the exceeding riches of his grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. (aiōn g165)

8 Porque por gracia sois salvos por medio de la fe, y esto no de vosotros, es el don de Dios:

For by grace ye have been saved, through faith; and this is not of yourselves; it is the gift of God;

9 No por obras, para que nadie se gloríe.

not of works, lest any one should boast.

10 Porque hechura suya somos, creados en Cristo Jesús para buenas obras, las cuales Dios ordenó antes para que anduviésemos en ellas.

For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God before prepared that we should walk in them.

11 Por tanto tenéd memoria que vosotros que en otro tiempo eráis Gentiles en la carne, que eráis llamados Incircuncisión por la que se llama Circuncisión en la carne, la cual se hace por mano;

Wherefore remember, that in time past ye, the gentiles in the flesh, who are called uncircumcised by those who are called circumcised, having the circumcision of the flesh, performed by hand, —

12 Que eráis en aquel tiempo sin Cristo alejados de la república de Israel, y extranjeros a los conciertos de la promesa, sin esperanza, y sin Dios en el mundo;

that ye were at that time without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers to the covenants of the promise, having no hope, and without God, in the world;

13 Mas ahora en Cristo Jesús, vosotros que en otro tiempo estabais lejos, habéis sido hechos cercanos por la sangre de Cristo.

but now, in Christ Jesus, ye, who formerly were afar off, have been brought nigh by the blood of Christ.

14 Porque él es nuestra paz, el que de ambos pueblos ha hecho uno solo, y ha derribado el muro de división que mediaba entre ellos:

For it is he who is our peace, who made both one, and broke down the middle wall of partition between us, that is, the enmity;

15 Deshaciendo en su carne la enemistad, es a saber, la ley de los mandamientos que consistían en ritos; para formar en sí mismo los dos en un nuevo hombre, haciendo así la paz:

having abolished in his flesh the law of commandments contained in ordinances; that he might create of the two one new man in himself, thus making peace,

16 Y para reconciliar con Dios a ambos en un mismo cuerpo por la cruz, habiendo matado por ella la enemistad.

and might reconcile both to God in one body by the cross, having slain on it the enmity.

17 Y vino, y anunció la paz a vosotros que estabais lejos, y a los que estaban cerca:

And he came and brought the glad tidings of peace to you who were afar off, and of peace to those that were near;

18 Que por él los unos y los otros tenemos entrada por un mismo Espíritu al Padre.

for through him we both have our access in one Spirit to the Father.

19 Así que ya no sois forasteros y extranjeros, sino conciudadanos de los santos, y familiares de Dios:

So then ye are no longer strangers and foreigners, but are fellow-citizens with the saints, and members of the household of God,

20 Edificados sobre el fundamento de los apóstoles y de los profetas, siendo el mismo Jesu Cristo la principal piedra angular:

and are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus himself being the chief corner-stone;

21 En el cual todo el edificio, bien ajustado consigo mismo, crece para ser templo santo en el Señor:

in whom all the building, fitly framed together, is growing into a holy temple in the Lord;

22 En el cual vosotros también sois juntamente edificados, para morada de Dios por el Espíritu.

in whom ye also are built together into a dwelling-place of God in the Spirit.
