Daniel 1
1 En el año tercero del reino de Joacim, rey de Judá, vino Nabucodonosor, rey de Babilonia, a Jerusalem, y cercóla.
In year three of [the] reign of Jehoiakim [the] king of Judah he came Nebuchadnezzar [the] king of Babylon Jerusalem and he laid siege on it.
2 Y el Señor entregó en sus manos a Joacim, rey de Judá, y parte de los vasos de la casa de Dios, y trájolos a tierra de Sennaar a la casa de su dios; y metió los vasos en la casa del tesoro de su dios.
And he gave [the] Lord in hand his Jehoiakim [the] king of Judah and some of [the] end of [the] vessels of [the] house of God and he brought them [the] land of Shinar [the] house of god his and the vessels he brought [the] house of [the] treasury of god his.
3 Y dijo el rey a Aspenez príncipe de sus eunucos, que trajese de los hijos de Israel, del linaje real, y de los príncipes;
And he said the king to Ashpenaz [the] chief of officials his to bring some of [the] people of Israel and some of [the] offspring of royalty and some of the nobles.
4 Muchachos en quien no hubiese alguna mácula, y de buen parecer, y enseñados en toda sabiduría, y sabios en ciencia, y de buen entendimiento, y que tuviesen fuerzas para estar en el palacio del rey, y que les enseñase las letras y la lengua de los Caldeos.
Youths whom not [was] in them any (blemish *Q(K)*) and good of appearance and having insight in all wisdom and knowing knowledge and understanding knowledge and whom ability [was] in them to stand in [the] palace of the king and to teach them [the] writing and [the] tongue of [the] Chaldeans.
5 Y señalóles el rey ración para cada día, de la ración de la comida del rey, y del vino de su beber; que los criase tres años, para que al fin de ellos estuviesen delante del rey.
And he assigned to them the king [the] matter of a day in day its some of [the] deli-caci[es] of the king and some of [the] wine of drink his and to bring up them years three and from [the] end their they will stand before the king.
6 Y fueron entre ellos de los hijos de Judá, Daniel, Ananías, Misael, y Azarías:
And he was among them from [the] people of Judah Daniel Hananiah Mishael and Azariah.
7 A los cuales el príncipe de los eunucos puso nombres. Y puso a Daniel, Baltasar; y a Ananías, Sidrac; y a Misael, Misac; y a Azarías, Abdenago.
And he assigned to them [the] chief of the officials names and he assigned to Daniel Belteshazzar and to Hananiah Shadrach and to Mishael Meshach and to Azariah Abed-nego.
8 Y Daniel propuso en su corazón de no contaminarse en la ración de la comida del rey, y en el vino de su beber; y pidió al príncipe de los eunucos de no se contaminar.
And he set Daniel on heart his that not he defiled himself with [the] delicaci[es] of the king and with [the] wine of drink his and he requested from [the] chief of the officials that not he will defile himself.
9 (Y puso Dios a Daniel en gracia, y en buena voluntad con el príncipe de los eunucos.)
And he gave God Daniel favor and compassion before [the] chief of the officials.
10 Y dijo el príncipe de los eunucos a Daniel: Tengo temor de mi señor el rey, que señaló vuestra comida, y vuestra bebida: el cual porque verá vuestros rostros más tristes que los de los muchachos que son semejantes a vosotros, condenaréis para con el rey mi cabeza.
And he said [the] chief of the officials to Daniel [am] fearing I master my the king who he has assigned food your and drink your that why? will he see faces your looking thin more than the youths who [are] about age your and you will endanger head my to the king.
11 Y Daniel dijo a Malasar, que era señalado por el príncipe de los eunucos sobre Daniel, Ananías, Misael, y Azarías:
And he said Daniel to the guardian whom he had assigned [the] chief of the officials over Daniel Hananiah Mishael and Azariah.
12 Prueba, yo te ruego, tus siervos diez días, y dénnos de las legumbres a comer, y agua a beber:
Put to [the] test please servants your days ten so let people give to us some of the vegetables so we may eat and water so we may drink.
13 Y parezcan delante de ti nuestros rostros, y los rostros de los muchachos que comen de la ración de la comida del rey, y según que vieres, harás con tus siervos.
And they may appear before you appearance our and [the] appearance of the youths who are eating [the] delicaci[es] of the king and just as you will see deal with servants your.
14 Consintió pues con ellos en esto, y probó con ellos diez días.
And he listened to them to the thing this and he put to [the] test them days ten.
15 Y al cabo de los diez días pareció el rostro de ellos mejor, y más gordo de carne que los otros muchachos, que comían de la ración de la comida del rey.
And from [the] end of days ten it appeared appearance their good and fat of flesh more than all the youths who were eating [the] delicaci[es] of the king.
16 Y fue, que Malasar tomaba la ración de la comida de ellos, y el vino de su beber, y dábales legumbres.
And he was the guardian taking away delicaci[es] their and [the] wine of drink their and giving to them vegetables.
17 Y a estos cuatro muchachos dióles Dios conocimiento, e inteligencia en todas letras y ciencia: mas Daniel tuvo entendimiento en toda visión y sueños.
And the youths these [the] four of them he gave to them God knowledge and insight in all writing and wisdom and Daniel he understood every vision and dreams.
18 Pasados pues los días al fin de los cuales dijo el rey que los trajesen, el príncipe de los eunucos los trajo delante de Nabucodonosor.
And from [the] end of the days which he had said the king to bring them and he brought them [the] chief of the officials before Nebuchadnezzar.
19 Y el rey habló con ellos, y no fue hallado entre todos ellos otro como Daniel, Ananías, Misael, y Azarías; y estuvieron delante del rey.
And he spoke with them the king and not he was found any of all of them like Daniel Hananiah Mishael and Azariah and they stood before the king.
20 Y en todo negocio de sabiduría e inteligencia que el rey les demandó, los halló diez veces sobre todos los magos y astrólogos que había en todo su reino.
And every matter of wisdom of understanding which he sought from them the king and he found them ten hands above all the soothsayer-priests the conjurers who [were] in all kingdom his.
21 Y fue Daniel hasta el año primero del rey Ciro.
And he was Daniel until year one of Cyrus the king.
