Amós 6
1 ¡Ay de los reposados en Sión, y de los confiados en el monte de Samaria, nombrados entre las mismas naciones principales, las cuales vendrán sobre ellos, o! casa de Israel!
Woe to them that are at ease in Zion and that are secure in the mountain of Samaria, the renowned of the first of the nations, to whom the house of Israel come.
2 Pasád a Calanna, y mirád; y de allí id a la gran Emat; y descendéd a Get de los Palestinos, ¿si son aquellos reinos mejores que estos reinos? ¿si su término es mayor que vuestro término?
Pass unto Calneh, and see; and from thence go to Hamath the great; and go down to Gath of the Philistines: are they better than these kingdoms? or their border greater than your border?
3 Los que dilatáis el día malo, y acercáis la silla de iniquidad:
Ye that put far away the evil day, and cause the seat of violence to come near;
4 Los que duermen en camas de marfil, y se extienden sobre sus lechos, y comen los corderos del rebaño, y los becerros de en medio del engordadero:
that lie upon beds of ivory, and stretch themselves upon their couches, and eat the lambs out of the flock, and the calves from the midst of the stall;
5 Los que hacen de garganta al son de la flauta, e inventan instrumentos músicos, como David:
that chant to the sound of the lute, [and] invent them instruments of music, like David;
6 Los que beben vino en tazones, y se ungen con los ungüentos más preciosos, ni se afligen por el quebrantamiento de José.
that drink wine in bowls, and anoint themselves with the chief ointments; but are not grieved for the breach of Joseph.
7 Por tanto ahora pasarán en el principio de los que pasaren; y se acercará el lloro de los extendidos.
Therefore shall they now go captive, with the first that go captive, and the revelry of them that stretched themselves shall pass away.
8 El Señor Jehová juró por su alma, Jehová Dios de los ejércitos dijo: Tengo en abominación la grandeza de Jacob, y sus palacios aborrezco; y la ciudad, y su plenitud entregaré al enemigo.
The Lord Jehovah hath sworn by himself, saith Jehovah, the God of hosts, I abhor the pride of Jacob, and hate his palaces; and I will deliver up the city with all that is therein.
9 Y acontecerá que si diez hombres quedaren en una casa, morirán.
And it shall come to pass, if there remain ten men in one house, that they shall die.
10 Y su tio tomará a cada uno, y le quemará, para sacar los huesos de casa; y dirá al que estará en los rincones de la casa: ¿Hay aun alguno contigo? y dirá: No. Y dirá: Calla, que no conviene hacer memoria del nombre de Jehová.
And a man's uncle, and he that should burn him, shall take him up to bring out the bones from the house, and shall say unto him that is in the inner parts of the house, Is there yet [any] with thee? and he shall say, None. And he will say, Silence! for we may not make mention of Jehovah's name.
11 Porque he aquí que Jehová mandará, y herirá de hendeduras la casa mayor; y la casa menor de aberturas.
For behold, Jehovah commandeth, and he will smite the great house with breaches, and the little house with clefts.
12 ¿Correrán los caballos por las piedras? ¿ararán con vacas? ¿por qué habéis vosotros tornado el juicio en veneno, y el fruto de justicia en ajenjo?
Shall horses run upon the rock? will [men] plough [thereon] with oxen? For ye have turned judgment into gall, and the fruit of righteousness into wormwood,
13 Los que os alegráis en nada: los que decís: ¿Nosotros no nos tomamos cuernos con nuestra fortaleza?
— ye that rejoice in a thing of nought, that say, Have we not taken to us power by our own strength?
14 Porque he aquí que yo levantaré sobre vosotros, o! casa de Israel, dijo Jehová Dios de los ejércitos, nación, que os apretará desde la entrada de Emat, hasta el arroyo del desierto.
For behold, O house of Israel, saith Jehovah the God of hosts, I will raise up against you a nation; and they shall afflict you from the entering in of Hamath unto the torrent of the Arabah.
