Hechos 9
1 Y Saulo aun resoplando amenazas y muerte contra los discípulos del Señor, vino al sumo sacerdote,
But Saul, still breathing out threatenings and slaughter against the disciples of the Lord, having come to the high priest,
2 Y demandó de él cartas para Damasco a las sinagogas, para que si hallase algunos de este camino, varones o mujeres, los trajese presos a Jerusalem.
asked from him letters to Damascus against the synagogues, in order that if he should find any being of the way, both men and women, he might lead them bound to Jerusalem.
3 Y yendo por el camino, aconteció que llegó cerca de Damasco, y súbitamente le cercó un resplandor de luz del cielo.
And it came to pass, while prosecuting the journey he drew near to Damascus, suddenly a light from heaven shone around him;
4 Y cayendo en tierra, oyó una voz que le decía: Saulo, Saulo, ¿por qué me persigues?
and falling on the ground, he heard a voice saying to him, Saul, Saul, why do you persecute me? And he said, Who art thou, Lord?
5 Y él dijo: ¿Quién eres, Señor? Y el Señor dijo: Yo soy Jesús a quien tú persigues: dura cosa te es dar coces contra el aguijón.
And He said, I am Jesus whom you are persecuting.
6 Y él temblando y asombrado, dijo: Señor, ¿qué quieres que yo haga? Y el Señor le dijo: Levántate, y entra en la ciudad; y te se dirá lo que debes hacer.
But stand up, and go into the city, and it shall be told thee what it behooves thee to do.
7 Y los varones que iban con él, se pararon atónitos, oyendo a la verdad la voz, mas no viendo a nadie.
And the men journeying along with him stood speechless, indeed hearing the voice, but seeing no one.
8 Entonces Saulo se levantó de tierra, y abriendo los ojos no veía a nadie; mas llevándole por la mano, le metieron en Damasco.
And Saul arose from the ground; and his eyes being open, he saw nothing: but leading him by the hand, they led him into Damascus;
9 Y estuvo tres días sin ver; y no comió, ni bebió.
and he was three days not seeing, neither did he eat nor drink.
10 Y había un discípulo en Damasco, llamado Ananías, al cual el Señor dijo en visión: Ananías. Y él respondió: He aquí estoy, Señor.
And there was a certain disciple in Damascus, Ananias by name; and the Lord said to him in a vision, Ananias. And he said, Behold, I am here, Lord.
11 Y el Señor le dijo: Levántate, y vé a la calle, que se llama la Derecha, y busca en casa de Júdas a Saulo, llamado el de Tarso; porque, he aquí, él ora:
And the Lord said to him, Arising, go to the street which is called Straight, and seek a Tarsean, by name Saul, in the house of Judas; for, behold, he is praying,
12 Y ha visto en visión a un varón llamado Ananías, que entra, y le pone la mano encima para que reciba la vista.
and he saw a man, Ananias by name, coming in, and putting his hands on him, in order that he may look up.
13 Entonces Ananías respondió: Señor, he oído decir a muchos de este varón, cuantos males ha hecho a tus santos en Jerusalem;
And Ananias responded, Lord I have heard from many about this man, how much evil he has done to thy saints in Jerusalem:
14 Y aun aquí tiene facultad de los príncipes de los sacerdotes para atar a todos los que invocan tu nombre.
and he here has authority from the chief priests to bind all those calling on thy name.
15 Y le dijo el Señor: Vé; porque vaso escogido me es éste, para que lleve mi nombre en presencia de los Gentiles, y de reyes, y de los hijos de Israel.
And the Lord said to him, Go: because he is a vessel of election to me, to bear my name both before the Gentiles, and kings, and sons of Israel:
16 Porque yo le mostraré cuán grandes cosas le es menester que padezca por mi nombre.
for I will show him how many things it behooves him to suffer for my name's sake.
17 Ananías entonces fue, y entró en la casa; y poniéndole las manos encima, dijo: Saulo, hermano, el Señor, a saber, Jesús, que te apareció en el camino por donde venías, me ha enviado para que recibas la vista, y seas lleno del Espíritu Santo.
And Ananias departed, and came into the house: and putting his hands on him said, Brother Saul, the Lord, Jesus, that appeared to you in the way in which thou didst come, hath sent me, that thou mayest look up, and he filled with the Holy Ghost.
18 Y al instante le cayeron de los ojos como escamas, y recibió luego la vista; y levantándose fue bautizado.
And immediately there fell from his eyes as scales: and he looked up; and having stood up, was baptized,
19 Y cuando hubo comido, fue confortado. Y estuvo Saulo con los discípulos que estaban en Damasco, por algunos días.
and having received food, he was strengthened. And he was with the disciples who were in Damascus some days;
20 Y luego en las sinagogas predicaba a Cristo, que éste es el Hijo de Dios.
and immediately he was preaching Jesus in the synagogues, that he is the Son of God.
21 Mas todos los que le oían estaban atónitos, y decían: ¿No es éste el que asolaba en Jerusalem a los que invocaban este nombre; y a eso vino acá para llevarlos atados a los príncipes de los sacerdotes?
And all those hearing were astonished, and continued to say, Is not this the one laying waste those calling on this name in Jerusalem? and has come hither for this, that he may lead them bound to the chief priests.
22 Empero Saulo mucho más se esforzaba, y confundía a los Judíos que moraban en Damasco demostrando que éste es el Cristo.
And Saul continued to be the more filled up with dynamite, and he was confounding the Jews dwelling in Damascus, proving that Jesus is the Christ.
23 Y pasados muchos días, acordaron juntos los Judíos de matarle.
And when many days were being filled up, the Jews issued a verdict to kill him:
24 Mas las asechanzas de ellos fueron entendidas de Saulo: y ellos guardaban las puertas de día y de noche, para matarle.
but their plot was made known to Saul. And they were keeping the gates both day and night in order that they might kill him:
25 Entonces los discípulos, tomándole de noche, le bajaron por el muro metido en una espuerta.
and his disciples taking him, let him down through the wall in the night, lowering him in a basket.
26 Y como Saulo vino a Jerusalem, tentaba de juntarse con los discípulos; mas todos tenían miedo de él, no creyendo que era discípulo.
And arriving in Jerusalem, he was endeavoring to join himself to the disciples: and all were afraid of him, not believing that he was a disciple.
27 Entonces Barnabás, tomándole, le trajo a los apóstoles; y les contó, como había visto al Señor en el camino, y que él le había hablado, y como en Damasco había hablado animosamente en el nombre de Jesús.
But Barnabas taking him, led him to the apostles, and related to them how he saw the Lord on the way, and that He spoke to him, and how he preached boldly in Damascus in the name of Jesus.
28 Y estaba con ellos, entrando y saliendo en Jerusalem.
And he was with them going in and coming out in Jerusalem, preaching boldly in the name of the Lord;
29 Y hablaba animosamente en el nombre del Señor Jesús, y disputaba con los Griegos; mas ellos procuraban de matarle.
and he was speaking and arguing against the Hellenists, and they undertook to kill him.
30 Lo cual como los hermanos entendieron, le acompañaron hasta Cesarea, y le enviaron a Tarso.
And the brethren, taking cognizance, led him to Caesarea, and sent him away to Tarsus.
31 Las iglesias entonces por toda Judea, y Galilea, y Samaria, tenían paz, y eran edificadas; y andando en el temor del Señor, y en el consuelo del Espíritu Santo eran multiplicadas.
Then indeed the church had peace throughout all Judea and Galilee and Samaria, being edified and progressing in the fear of the Lord; and was being multiplied by the exhortation of the Holy Ghost.
32 Y aconteció, que Pedro andando por todas partes, vino también a los santos que habitaban en Lidda.
And it came to pass, that Peter going through all parts, came down also to the saints living at Lydda.
33 Y halló allí a uno que se llamaba Enéas, que había ya ocho años que estaba en cama, que era paralítico.
And he found there a certain man, by name Eneas, lying on a bed eight years, who was paralyzed.
34 Y le dijo Pedro: Enéas, Jesu Cristo te sana: levántate, y hazte tu cama. Y luego se levantó.
And Peter said to him, Eneas, Jesus Christ heals thee: arise, and take up thy bed: and immediately he arose.
35 Y viéronle todos los que habitaban en Lidda y en Sarona, los cuales se convirtieron al Señor.
And all those dwelling at Lydda and Sharon, whosoever saw him, turned to the Lord.
36 Y había en Joppe una discípula llamada Tabita, que interpretado, quiere decir Dórcas. Esta era llena de buenas obras, y de limosnas que hacía.
But there was a certain disciple in Joppa, by name Tabitha, who being interpreted is called Dorcas: and she was full of good works and alms which she was doing.
37 Y aconteció en aquellos días, que enfermando, murió; la cual después de lavada, la pusieron en un cenadero.
And it came to pass during those days, she being sick, died: and washing her, they placed her in an upper chamber.
38 Y como Lidda estaba cerca de Joppe, los discípulos, oyendo que Pedro estaba allí, le enviaron dos varones, rogándo le: No te detengas de venir a nosotros.
And Lydda being near to Joppa, the disciples hearing that Peter is in it, sent two men to him, entreating him, Do not delay to come unto us.
39 Pedro entonces levantándose, vino con ellos. Y como llegó, le llevaron al cenadero, y se le presentaron todas las viudas, llorando y mostrándole las túnicas y los vestidos que Dórcas hacía, cuando estaba con ellas.
And Peter rising up came along with them; whom, on arrival, they led to the upper chamber: and all the widows stood by him weeping, and showing him the chitoons and himations, so many as Dorcas made, while with them.
40 Entonces echados fuera todos, Pedro puesto de rodillas, oró; y vuelto al cuerpo, dijo: Tabita, levántate. Y ella abrió los ojos; y viendo a Pedro, se sentó.
And Peter having put them all out, and putting down his knees, prayed; and having turned toward the body, said, Tabitha, arise. And she opened her eyes: and seeing Peter sat up.
41 Y dándole él la mano, la levantó: entonces llamando a los santos y a las viudas, la presentó viva.
And having given her his hand, he raised her up, and calling the saints and widows, he presented her alive.
42 Esto fue conocido por toda Joppe; y creyeron muchos en el Señor.
And it was known throughout all Joppa; and many believed on the Lord.
43 Y aconteció que se quedó muchos días en Joppe, en casa de un cierto Simón curtidor.
And it came to pass, that he remained some days in Joppa, with one Simon a tanner.
