2 Reyes 8

1 Y habló Eliseo a aquella mujer, cuyo hijo había hecho vivir, diciendo: Levántate, vete, tú y toda tu casa, a vivir donde pudieres; porque Jehová ha llamado hambre, la cual vendrá también sobre la tierra siete años.

Then spake Elisha vnto the woman, whose sonne he had restored to life, saying, Vp, and goe, thou, and thine house, and soiourne where thou canst soiourne: for the Lord hath called for a famine, and it commeth also vpon the land seuen yeeres.

2 Entonces la mujer se levantó, e hizo como el varón de Dios la dijo: y partióse ella y su casa, y vivió en tierra de los Filisteos siete años.

And the woman arose, and did after the saying of the man of God, and went both shee and her housholde and soiourned in the lande of the Philistims seuen yeeres.

3 Y como fueron pasados los siete años, la mujer volvió de la tierra de los Filisteos: y salió para clamar al rey por su casa, y por sus tierras.

And at the seuen yeeres ende, the woman returned out of the lande of the Philistims, and went out to call vpon the King for her house and for her land.

4 Y el rey había hablado con Giezi siervo del varón de Dios, diciéndole: Ruégote que me cuentes todas las maravillas que ha hecho Eliseo.

And the King talked with Gehazi the seruant of the man of God, saying, Tell mee, I pray thee, all the great actes, that Elisha hath done.

5 Y contando él al rey, como había hecho vivir un muerto, he aquí la mujer, cuyo hijo había hecho vivir, que clamaba al rey por su casa, y por sus tierras. Entonces dijo Giezi: Rey señor mío, esta es la mujer, y este es su hijo, al cual Eliseo hizo vivir.

And as he told the King, howe he had restored one dead to life, behold, the woman, whose sonne he had raised to life, called vpon the King for her house and for her land. Then Gehazi sayd, My lorde, O King, this is the woman, and this is her sonne, whom Elisha restored to life.

6 Y preguntando el rey a la mujer, ella se lo contó. Y el rey le dio un eunuco, diciéndole: Házle volver todas las cosas que eran suyas, y todos los frutos de las tierras desde el día que dejó las tierras hasta ahora.

And when the King asked the woman, shee told him: so the King appoynted her an Eunuch, saying, Restore thou all that are hers, and all the fruites of her landes since the day shee left the land, euen vntill this time.

7 Eliseo se fue a Damasco, y Ben-adad rey de Siria estaba enfermo, al cual dieron aviso, diciendo: El varón de Dios es venido aquí.

Then Elisha came to Damascus, and Ben-hadad the King of Aram was sicke, and one told him, saying, The man of God is come hither.

8 Y el rey dijo a Hazael: Toma en tu mano un presente, y vé a recibir al varón de Dios, y consulta por él a Jehová, diciendo: ¿Tengo de sanar de esta enfermedad?

And the king sayd vnto Hazael, Take a present in thine hande, and goe meete the man of God, that thou mayest inquire of ye Lord by him, saying, Shall I recouer of this disease?

9 Y Hazael tomó en su mano un presente de todos los bienes de Damasco, cuarenta camellos cargados, y salióle a recibir: y llegó y púsose delante de él, y dijo: Tu hijo Ben-adad rey de Siria me ha enviado a ti, diciendo: ¿Tengo de sanar de esta enfermedad?

So Hazael went to meete him, and tooke the present in his hand, and of euery good thing of Damascus, euen the burden of fourtie camels, and came and stood before him, and sayde, Thy sonne Ben-hadad King of Aram hath sent me to thee, saying, Shall I recouer of this disease?

10 Y Eliseo le dijo: Vé, díle: Viviendo vivirás: empero Jehová me ha mostrado que muriendo ha de morir.

And Elisha sayd to him, Goe, and say vnto him, Thou shalt recouer: howbeit the Lord hath shewed me, that he shall surely dye.

11 Y el varón de Dios le volvió el rostro afirmadamente, y estúvose así una gran pieza, y lloró el varón de Dios.

And hee looked vpon him stedfastly, till Hazael was ashamed, and the man of God wept.

12 Entonces díjole Hazael: ¿Por qué llora mi señor? Y él respondió: Porque sé el mal que has de hacer a los hijos de Israel: sus fortalezas encenderás a fuego, y sus mancebos pasarás a cuchillo, y sus niños estrellarás, y sus preñadas abrirás.

And Hazael sayde, Why weepeth my lord? And he answered, Because I knowe the euill that thou shalt do vnto the children of Israel: for their strong cities shalt thou set on fire, and their yong men shalt thou slay with the sworde, and shalt dash their infantes against the stones, and rent in pieces their women with child.

13 Y Hazael dijo: ¿Por qué? ¿Es tu siervo perro, para hacer esta gran cosa? Y respondió Eliseo: Jehová me ha mostrado, que tú has de ser rey de Siria.

Then Hazael said, What? is thy seruant a dog, that I should doe this great thing? And Elisha answered, The Lord hath shewed mee, that thou shalt be King of Aram.

14 Y él se partió de Eliseo, y vino a su señor: y él le dijo: ¿Qué te dijo Eliseo? Y él respondió: Díjome, que viviendo vivirás.

So he departed from Elisha, and came to his master, who said to him, What saide Elisha to thee? And he answered, Hee tolde mee that thou shouldest recouer.

15 El día siguiente tomó un paño basto y metióle en agua, y tendióle sobre su rostro: y murió, y reinó Hazael en su lugar.

And on the morow he tooke a thick cloth and dipt in it water, and spread it on his face, and hee dyed: and Hazael reigned in his stead.

16 En el quinto año de Joram, hijo de Acab, rey de Israel, y de Josafat rey de Judá, comenzó a reinar Joram, hijo de Josafat rey de Judá.

Now in the fift yere of Ioram ye sonne of Ahab King of Israel, and of Iehoshaphat King of Iudah, Iehoram the sonne of Iehoshaphat King of Iudah began to reigne.

17 De treinta y dos años era, cuando comenzó a reinar, y ocho años reinó en Jerusalem.

He was two and thirtie yere olde, when he began to reigne: and hee reigned eight yeere in Ierusalem.

18 Anduvo en el camino de los reyes de Israel, como hizo la casa de Acab: porque una hija de Acab fue su mujer, e hizo lo malo en ojos de Jehová.

And hee walked in the wayes of the Kings of Israel, as did the house of Ahab: for the daughter of Ahab was his wife, and hee did euill in the sight of the Lord.

19 Con todo eso Jehová no quiso cortar a Judá, por amor de David su siervo, como le había prometido de darle lámpara de sus hijos perpetuamente.

Yet the Lord would not destroy Iudah, for Dauid his seruants sake, as he had promised him to giue him a light, and to his children for euer.

20 En su tiempo se rebeló Edom de debajo de la mano de Judá: y pusieron rey sobre sí.

In those dayes Edom rebelled from vnder the hand of Iudah, and made a King ouer themselues.

21 Y Joram pasó en Seir, él y todos sus carros con él: y levantándose de noche hirió a los Idumeos, los cuales le habían encerrado, juntamente con los capitanes de los carros: y el pueblo huyó a sus estancias.

Therefore Ioram went to Zair, and all his charets with him, and he arose by night, and smote the Edomites which were about him with the captains of the charets, and the people fled into their tents.

22 Y se rebeló Edom de debajo de la mano de Judá hasta hoy. Entonces se rebeló Lebna en el mismo tiempo.

So Edom rebelled from vnder the hand of Iudah vnto this day. then Libnah rebelled at that same time.

23 Lo demás de los hechos de Joram, y todas las cosas que hizo, ¿no está escrito en el libro de las crónicas de los reyes de Judá?

Concerning the rest of the actes of Ioram and all that hee did, are they not written in the booke of the Chronicles of the Kings of Iudah?

24 Y durmió Joram con sus padres, y fue sepultado con sus padres en la ciudad de David: y reinó en su lugar Ocozías su hijo.

And Ioram slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in the citie of Dauid. And Ahaziah his sonne reigned in his stead.

25 En el año doce de Joram, hijo de Acab, rey de Israel, comenzó a reinar Ocozías, hijo de Joram rey de Judá.

In the twelft yere of Ioram the sonne of Ahab King of Israel did Ahaziah the sonne of Iehoram King of Iudah begin to reigne.

26 De veinte y dos años era Ocozías cuando comenzó a reinar: y reinó un año en Jerusalem: el nombre de su madre fue Atalía, hija de Amrí, rey de Israel.

Two and twentie yeere olde was Ahaziah when he began to reigne, and he reigned one yere in Ierusalem, and his mothers name was Athaliah the daughter of Omri King of Israel.

27 Anduvo en el camino de la casa de Acab, e hizo lo malo en ojos de Jehová, como la casa de Acab; porque era yerno de la casa de Acab.

And he walked in the way of the house of Ahab, and did euill in the sight of the Lord, like the house of Ahab: for hee was the sonne in law of the house of Ahab.

28 Y fue a la guerra con Joram, hijo de Acab, a Ramot de Galaad contra Hazael rey de Siria: y los Siros hirieron a Joram.

And he went with Ioram the sonne of Ahab to warre against Hazael King of Aram in Ramoth Gilead, and the Aramites smote Ioram.

29 Y el rey Joram se volvió a Jezrael para curarse de las heridas que los Siros le dieron delante de Ramot, cuando peleó contra Hazael rey de Siria: y descendió Ocozías, hijo de Joram, rey de Judá, a visitar a Joram, hijo de Acab, en Jezrael, porque estaba enfermo.

And King Ioram returned to bee healed in Izreel of the wounds which ye Aramites had giuen him at Ramah, whe he fought against Hazael King of Aram. And Ahaziah the sonne of Iehoram King of Iudah went downe to see Ioram the sonne of Ahab in Izreel, because he was sicke.
