2 Reyes 7

1 Y dijo Eliseo: Oíd palabra de Jehová: Así dijo Jehová: Mañana a estas horas el modio de flor de harina, un siclo: y dos modios de cebada, un siclo a la puerta de Samaria.

And Elisha said, Hear ye the word of Jehovah. Thus says Jehovah, Tomorrow about this time a measure of fine flour shall be sold for a shekel, and two measures of barley for a shekel, in the gate of Samaria.

2 Y un príncipe, sobre cuya mano el rey se recostaba, respondió al varón de Dios, y dijo: ¿Si Jehová hiciese ahora ventanas en el cielo, sería esto así? Y él dijo: He aquí, tú lo verás con tus ojos, mas no comerás de ello.

Then the captain on whose hand the king leaned answered the man of God, and said, Behold, if Jehovah should make windows in heaven, might this thing be? And he said, Behold, thou shall see it with thine eyes, but shall not eat of it.

3 Y había cuatro hombres leprosos a la entrada de la puerta, los cuales dijeron el uno al otro: ¿Para qué nos estamos aquí hasta que muramos?

Now there were four leprous men at the entrance of the gate, and they said one to another, Why do we sit here until we die?

4 Si hablaremos de entrar en la ciudad, por la hambre que hay en la ciudad moriremos en ella: y si nos quedamos aquí también moriremos. Veníd pues ahora, y pasémosnos al ejército de los Siros: si ellos nos dieren la vida, viviremos, y si nos dieren la muerte, moriremos.

If we say, We will enter into the city, then the famine is in the city, and we shall die there. And if we sit still here, we die also. Now therefore come, and let us fall to the army of the Syrians. If they save us alive, we shall live, and if they kill us, we shall but die.

5 Y levantáronse en el principio de la noche, para irse al campo de los Siros; y llegando a las primeras estancias de los Siros, no había allí hombre.

And they rose up in the twilight, to go to the camp of the Syrians. And when they came to the outermost part of the camp of the Syrians, behold, there was no man there.

6 Porque el Señor había hecho que en el campo de los Siros se oyese estruendo de carros, sonido de caballos, y estruendo de grande ejército: y dijeron los unos a los otros: He aquí, el rey de Israel ha pagado contra nosotros a los reyes de los Jetteos, y a los reyes de los Egipcios, para que vengan contra nosotros.

For the Lord had made the army of the Syrians to hear a noise of chariots, and a noise of horses, even the noise of a great army. And they said one to another, Lo, the king of Israel has hired against us the kings of the Hittites, and the kings of the Egyptians, to come upon us.

7 Y así se habían levantado, y habían huido al principio de la noche, dejando sus tiendas, sus caballos, sus asnos, y el campo como se estaba, y habían huido por salvar las vidas.

Therefore they arose and fled in the twilight, and left their tents, and their horses, and their donkeys, even the camp as it was, and fled for their life.

8 Y como los leprosos llegaron a las primeras estancias, entráronse en una tienda, y comieron y bebieron, y tomaron de allí plata y oro, y vestidos, y fueron, y escondiéronlo: y vueltos entraron en otra tienda, y de allí también tomaron, y fueron, y escondieron.

And when these lepers came to the outermost part of the camp, they went into one tent, and ate and drank, and carried from there silver, and gold, and raiment, and went and hid it. And they came back, and entered into another tent, and carried from there also, and went and hid it.

9 Y dijeron el uno al otro: No hacemos bien: hoy es día de dar buena nueva, y nosotros callamos: y si esperamos hasta la luz de la mañana, seremos tomados en la maldad. Veníd pues ahora, entremos, y demos la nueva en casa del rey.

Then they said one to another, We are not doing right. This day is a day of good news, and we keep silent. If we delay till the morning light, punishment will overtake us. Now therefore come, let us go and tell the king's household.

10 Y vinieron, y dieron voces a las guardias de la puerta de la ciudad, y declaráronles, diciendo: Nosotros venímos al campo de los Siros, y, he aquí que no había allá hombre, ni voz de hombre, sino los caballos atados, y los asnos atados, y el campo como se estaba.

So they came and called to the porter of the city. And they told them, saying, We came to the camp of the Syrians, and, behold, there was no man there, neither voice of man, but the horses tied, and the donkeys tied, and the tents as they were.

11 Y los porteros dieron voces, y declaráronlo dentro en el palacio del rey.

And he called the porters, and they told it to the king's household within.

12 Y levantóse el rey de noche, y dijo a sus siervos: Yo os declararé lo que nos han hecho los Siros: ellos saben que tenemos hambre, y hánse salido de las tiendas, y escondídose en el campo, diciendo: Cuando hubieren salido de la ciudad, los tomaremos vivos, y entraremos en la ciudad.

And the king arose in the night, and said to his servants, I will now show you what the Syrians have done to us. They know that we are hungry. Therefore they have gone out of the camp to hide themselves in the field, saying, When they come out of the city we shall take them alive, and get into the city.

13 Entonces respondió uno de sus siervos, y dijo: Tomen ahora cinco de los caballos que han quedado en la ciudad, porque ellos también han sido como toda la multitud de Israel, que ha quedado en ella: ellos también han sido como toda la multitud de Israel que ha perecido, y enviémoslos, y veremos.

And one of his servants answered and said, Let, I pray thee, some men take five of the horses that remain, which are left in the city (behold, they are as all the multitude of Israel that are left in it; behold, they are as all the multitude of Israel that are consumed), and let us send and see.

14 Y tomaron dos caballos de un carro, y envió el rey tras el campo de los Siros, diciendo: Id, y ved.

Therefore they took two chariots with horses. And the king sent after the army of the Syrians, saying, Go and see.

15 Y ellos fueron, y siguiéronlos hasta el Jordán: y, he aquí, todo el camino estaba lleno de vestidos y de vasos, que los Siros habían echado con priesa. Y volvieron los mensajeros, e hiciéronlo saber al rey.

And they went after them to the Jordan. And, lo, all the way was full of garments and vessels, which the Syrians had cast away in their haste. And the messengers returned, and told the king.

16 Entonces el pueblo salió, y saquearon el campo de los Siros; y fue un modio de flor de harina por un siclo, y dos modios de cebada por un siclo, conforme a la palabra de Jehová.

And the people went out, and plundered the camp of the Syrians. So a measure of fine flour was sold for a shekel, and two measures of barley for a shekel, according to the word of Jehovah.

17 Y el rey puso a la puerta a aquel príncipe, sobre cuya mano él se había recostado, y el pueblo le atropelló a la entrada, y murió, conforme a lo que había dicho el varón de Dios, lo que habló cuando el rey descendió a él.

And the king appointed the captain on whose hand he leaned to have the charge of the gate. And the people trampled upon him in the gate, and he died as the man of God had said, who spoke when the king came down to him.

18 Y aconteció de la manera que el varón de Dios había dicho al rey, diciéndole: Dos modios de cebada por un siclo, y el modio de flor de harina por un siclo: será mañana a estas horas a la puerta de Samaria.

And it came to pass, as the man of God had spoken to the king, saying, Two measures of barley for a shekel, and a measure of fine flour for a shekel, shall be tomorrow about this time in the gate of Samaria.

19 A lo cual aquel príncipe había respondido al varón de Dios, diciendo: ¿Si Jehová hiciese ventanas en el cielo, hacerse ha eso? Y él dijo: He aquí, tú lo verás con tus ojos, mas no comerás de ello.

And that captain answered the man of God, and said, Now, behold, if Jehovah should make windows in heaven, might such a thing be? And he said, Behold, thou shall see it with thine eyes, but shall not eat of it.

20 Y acontecióle así: porque el pueblo le atropelló en la entrada, y murió.

It came to pass even so to him, for the people trampled upon him in the gate, and he died.
