2 Corintios 10

1 Ruégoos, empero, yo Pablo, por la mansedumbre y dulzura de Cristo, ( yo que en presencia soy despreciable entre vosotros, pero que estando ausente soy osado para con vosotros, )

Now I Paul myself beseech you by the meekness and gentleness of Christ, I, who present indeed am lowly among you, but am bold toward you when absent;

2 Ruégo os, pues, que cuando estuviere presente, no tenga que ser atrevido con la confianza con que pienso ser osado contra algunos, que nos tienen como si anduviésemos según la carne:

but I entreat you, that I may not when I am present be bold with that confidence wherewith I think of being bold towards some, who think of us as walking according to the flesh.

3 Porque aunque andamos en la carne, no militamos según la carne:

For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh,

4 (Porque las armas de nuestra milicia no son carnales, sino poderosas de parte de Dios para destrucción de fortalezas; )

(for the weapons of our warfare are not fleshly, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds, )

5 Derribando conceptos, y toda cosa alta que se levanta contra la ciencia de Dios; y cautivando todo entendimiento a la obediencia de Cristo,

casting down reasonings, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing every purpose into captivity to the obedience of Christ,

6 Y estando prestos para castigar a toda desobediencia, desde que vuestra obediencia fuere cumplida.

and being in readiness to punish every disobedience, when the measure of your obedience shall be full.

7 ¿Miráis las cosas según la apariencia exterior? Si alguno está confiado en sí mismo que es de Cristo, esto también piense por sí mismo, que como él es de Cristo, así también nosotros somos de Cristo.

Ye look at the outward appearance. If any one trusteth to himself that he belongeth to Christ, let him of himself consider this again, that as he belongeth to Christ, so also do we.

8 Porque aunque yo me jacte algún tanto más de nuestra potestad, (la cual el Señor nos dio para edificación, y no para vuestra destrucción, ) no me avergonzaré.

For even if I should boast still more highly of our authority, which the Lord gave us for building you up, and not pulling you down, I should not be put to shame;

9 A fin de que no parezca como que os quiero espantar por cartas.

that I may not seem as if I would terrify you by my letters.

10 Porque a la verdad, dice él, las cartas suyas son graves y fuertes; mas su presencia corporal endeble, y la palabra de menospreciar.

For his letters, saith one, are weighty and strong; but his bodily presence is weak, and his speech contemptible.

11 Esto piense el tal, que cuales somos en la palabra por cartas estando ausentes, tales seremos también de obra estando presentes.

Let such a one count upon this, that such as we are in word by letters when absent, such will we be also in deed when present.

12 Porque no osamos ni a contarnos, ni a compararnos con algunos que se alaban a sí mismos; mas ellos midiéndose a sí mismos por sí mismos, y comparándose a sí mismos consigo mismos, no entienden.

For we do not venture to reckon ourselves among, or compare ourselves with, some of those who commend themselves; but they, measuring themselves among themselves, and comparing themselves with themselves, are not wise.

13 Nosotros empero no nos jactaremos de cosas fuera de nuestra medida; sino conforme a la medida de la regla que Dios nos repartió, medida que llega también hasta vosotros,

But we will not boast of things that are without our measure, but according to the measure of the line which God allotted us, —a measure to reach even to you.

14 Porque no nos extendemos más allá de nuestra medida, como si no llegásemos hasta vosotros; porque también hasta vosotros hemos llegado en el evangelio de Cristo:

For we do not stretch ourselves beyond our measure, as though we reached not to you; (for as far as even to you did we come, in the gospel of Christ; )

15 No jactándonos de cosas fuera de nuestra medida, es a saber, de trabajos ajenos; mas teniendo esperanza de que en creciendo vuestra fe, seremos bastantemente engrandecidos entre vosotros conforme a nuestra regla;

not boasting of things that are without measure, in other men's labors, but having hope, when your faith is increased, that our line will through you be still further extended,

16 Para predicar el evangelio en las partes que están más allá de vosotros, no entrando en la medida de otro, para gloriarnos de lo que ya estaba aparejado.

so that we may preach the gospel in the regions beyond you; not boasting, in another's line, of things made ready to our hand.

17 Mas el que se gloría, gloríese en el Señor.

But “he that boasteth, let him boast in the Lord.”

18 Porque no el que se alaba a sí mismo, el tal luego es aprobado; mas aquel a quien Dios alaba.

For not he that commendeth himself is approved, but he whom the Lord commendeth.
