2 Crónicas 18

1 Y tuvo Josafat riquezas y gloria en abundancia: y juntó parentesco con Acab.

And Iehoshaphat had riches and honour in abundance, but he was ioyned in affinitie with Ahab.

2 Y después de algunos años, descendió a Acab a Samaria, y mató Acab muchas ovejas y bueyes para él, y para el pueblo que había venido con él; y persuadióle que fuese con él a Ramot de Galaad.

And after certaine yeeres he went downe to Ahab to Samaria: and Ahab slew sheepe and oxen for him in great nomber, and for the people that he had with him, and entised him to goe vp vnto Ramoth Gilead.

3 Y dijo Acab rey de Israel a Josafat rey de Judá: ¿Quieres venir conmigo a Ramot de Galaad? Y él le respondió: Como yo, así también tú: y como tu pueblo, así también mi pueblo: contigo a la guerra.

And Ahab King of Israel saide vnto Iehoshaphat King of Iudah, Wilt thou goe with mee to Ramoth Gilead? And hee answered him, I am as thou art, and my people as thy people, and wee will ioyne with thee in the warre.

4 Y dijo más Josafat al rey de Israel: Ruégote que consultes hoy la palabra de Jehová.

And Iehoshaphat sayde vnto the King of Israel, Aske counsel, I pray thee, at the worde of the Lord this day.

5 Entonces el rey de Israel juntó cuatrocientos varones profetas, y díjoles: ¿Iremos a la guerra contra Ramot de Galaad, o reposarnos hemos? Y ellos dijeron: Sube; que Dios los entregará en mano del rey.

Therefore the King of Israel gathered of Prophets foure hundreth men, and sayde vnto them, Shall we goe to Ramoth Gilead to battel, or shall I cease? And they sayd, Go vp: for God shall deliuer it into the Kings hand.

6 Y Josafat dijo: ¿Hay aun aquí algún profeta de Jehová, para que por él preguntemos?

But Iehoshaphat sayde, Is there heere neuer a Prophet more of the Lord that wee might inquire of him?

7 Y el rey de Israel respondió a Josafat: Aun hay aquí un hombre por el cual podemos preguntar a Jehová: mas yo le aborrezco, porque nunca me profetiza cosa buena, sino toda su vida por mal: este es Miqueas, hijo de Jemla. Y respondió Josafat: No hable el rey así.

And the King of Israel sayd vnto Iehoshaphat, There is yet one man, by whome wee may aske counsell of the Lord, but I hate him: for he doeth not prophesie good vnto me, but alway euil: it is Michaiah the sonne of Imla. Then Iehoshaphat said, Let not the King say so.

8 Entonces el rey de Israel llamó un eunuco, y díjole: Haz venir luego a Miqueas, hijo de Jemla.

And the King of Israel called an eunuche, and said, Call quickly Michaiah the sonne of Imla.

9 Y el rey de Israel y Josafat rey de Judá estaban sentados, cada uno en su trono, vestidos de sus ropas, y estaban asentados en la era a la entrada de la puerta de Samaria, y todos los profetas profetizaban delante de ellos.

And the King of Israel, and Iehoshaphat King of Iudah sate either of them on his throne clothed in their apparel: they sate euen in the threshing floore at the entring in of the gate of Samaria: and all the Prophets prophesied before them.

10 Empero Sedequías, hijo de Canaana, se había hecho unos cuernos de hierro, y decía: Jehová ha dicho así: Con estos acornearás a los Siros hasta destruirlos del todo.

And Zidkiah ye sonne of Chenaanah made him hornes of yron, and sayde, Thus sayth the Lord, With these shalt thou push the Aramites vntill thou hast consumed them.

11 De esta manera profetizaban también todos los profetas, diciendo: Sube a Ramot de Galaad, y sé prosperado: porque Jehová la entregará en mano del rey.

And all the Prophets prophesied so, saying, Go vp to Ramoth Gilead, and prosper: for the Lord shall deliuer it into the hand of the King.

12 Y el mensajero que había ido a llamar a Miqueas le habló, diciendo: He aquí, las palabras de los profetas a una boca anuncian al rey bienes: yo te ruego ahora que tu palabra sea como la de uno de ellos, que hables bien.

And the messenger that went to call Michaiah, spake to him, saying, Beholde, the wordes of the Prophets declare good to the King with one accord: let thy word therefore, I pray thee, be like one of theirs, and speake thou good.

13 Y dijo Miqueas: Vive Jehová, que lo que mi Dios me dijere, eso hablaré. Y vino al rey.

And Michaiah saide, As the Lord liueth, whatsoeuer my God saith, that will I speake.

14 Y el rey le dijo: Miqueas, ¿iremos a pelear contra Ramot de Galaad, o dejarlo hemos? Y él respondió: Subíd; que seréis prosperados; que serán entregados en vuestras manos.

So he came to the King, and the King said vnto him, Michaiah, shall we go to Ramoth Gilead to battel, or shall I leaue off? And he said, Goe yee vp, and prosper, and they shalbe deliuered into your hand.

15 Y el rey le dijo: ¿Hasta cuántas veces te conjuraré por el nombre de Jehová, que no me hables sino la verdad?

And the King sayd to him, Howe oft shall I charge thee, that thou tell mee nothing but the trueth in the Name of the Lord?

16 Entonces él dijo: Yo he visto a todo Israel derramado por los montes, como ovejas sin pastor: y dijo Jehová: Estos no tienen señor: vuélvase cada uno en paz a su casa.

Then he said, I saw al Israel scattered in the mountaines, as sheepe that haue no shepheard: and the Lord sayd, These haue no Master: let them returne euery man to his house in peace.

17 Y el rey de Israel dijo a Josafat: ¿No te había yo dicho, que este no me profetizará bien, sino mal?

And the King of Israel sayde to Iehoshaphat, Did I not tell thee, that he would not prophesie good vnto me, but euill?

18 Entonces él dijo: Oíd pues palabra de Jehová: Yo he visto a Jehová asentado en su trono, y todo el ejército de los cielos estaba a su mano derecha y a su mano izquierda.

Againe hee saide, Therefore heare ye the worde of the Lord: I sawe the Lord sit vpon his throne, and all the hoste of heauen standing at his right hand, and at his left.

19 Y Jehová dijo: ¿Quién inducirá a Acab rey de Israel, para que suba, y caiga en Ramot de Galaad? Y este decía así, y el otro decía así.

And the Lord sayd, Who shall perswade Ahab King of Israel, that he may go vp, and fall at Ramoth Gilead? And one spake and said thus, and another said that.

20 Mas salió un espíritu, que se puso delante de Jehová, y dijo: Yo le induciré. Y Jehová le dijo: ¿De qué manera?

Then there came forth a spirit and stoode before the Lord, and said, I will perswade him. And the Lord said vnto him, Wherein?

21 Y él dijo: Saldré; y seré espíritu de mentira en la boca de todos sus profetas. Y Jehová dijo: Induce, y también prevalece: sal, y házlo así.

And he saide, I will goe out, and bee a false spirit in the mouth of all his Prophets. And hee said, Thou shalt perswade, and shalt also preuaile: goe forth and do so.

22 Y, he aquí, ahora Jehová ha puesto espíritu de mentira en la boca de estos tus profetas: mas Jehová ha hablado contra ti mal.

Now therefore behold, the Lord hath put a false spirit in the mouth of these thy Prophets, and the Lord hath determined euill against thee.

23 Entonces Sedequías, hijo de Canaana, se llegó a él, e hirió a Miqueas en la mejilla, y dijo: ¿Por qué camino se apartó de mí el Espíritu de Jehová, para hablarte a ti?

Then Zidkiah the sonne of Chenaanah came neere, and smote Michaiah vpon the cheeke, and sayde, By what way went the Spirit of the Lord from me, to speake with thee?

24 Y Miqueas respondió: He aquí, tú lo verás el mismo día cuando te entrarás de cámara en cámara para esconderte.

And Michaiah saide, Behold, thou shalt see that day when thou shalt goe from chamber to chamber to hide thee.

25 Entonces el rey de Israel dijo: Tomád a Miqueas, y volvédle a Amón el gobernador de la ciudad, y a Joas, hijo del rey;

And the King of Israel sayde, Take ye Michaiah, and cary him to Amon the gouernour of the citie, and to Ioash the Kings sonne,

26 Y diréis: El rey ha dicho así: Ponéd a este en la cárcel, hacédle comer pan de aflicción, y agua de angustia, hasta que yo vuelva en paz.

And say, Thus saith the King, Put this man in the prison house, and feede him with bread of affliction and with water of affliction vntil I returne in peace.

27 Y Miqueas dijo: Si volviendo volvieres en paz, Jehová no ha hablado por mí. Y dijo también: Oíd esto todos los pueblos.

And Michaiah said, If thou returne in peace, the Lord hath not spoken by me. And he saide, Heare, all ye people.

28 Y el rey de Israel subió, y Josafat rey de Judá, a Ramot de Galaad.

So the King of Israel and Iehoshaphat the King of Iudah went vp to Ramoth Gilead.

29 Y dijo el rey de Israel a Josafat: Yo me disfrazaré para entrar en la batalla: mas tú vístete tus vestidos. Y disfrazóse el rey de Israel, y entró en la batalla.

And the King of Israel said vnto Iehoshaphat, I will change my selfe, and enter into the battel: but put thou on thine apparel. So the King of Israel changed himselfe, and they went into the battel.

30 El rey de Siria había mandado a los capitanes de los carros que tenía consigo, diciendo: No peleéis con chico ni con grande, sino con solo el rey de Israel.

And the King of Aram had commanded the captaines of the charets that were with him, saying, Fight you not with small, nor great, but against the King of Israel onely.

31 Y como los capitanes de los carros vieron a Josafat, dijeron: Este es el rey de Israel. Y cercáronle para pelear: mas Josafat clamó, y ayudóle Jehová; y apartólos Dios de él.

And when the captaines of the charets saw Iehoshaphat, they sayde, It is the King of Israel: and they compassed about him to fight. But Iehoshaphat cryed, and the Lord helped him and moued them to depart from him.

32 Y viendo los capitanes de los carros que no era el rey de Israel, apartáronse de él.

For when the captaines of the charets saw that hee was not the King of Israel, they turned backe from him.

33 Mas flechando uno el arco en su enterez, hirió al rey de Israel entre las junturas y el coselete. Entonces él dijo al carretero: Vuelve tu mano, y sácame del campo, porque estoy enfermo.

Then a certaine man drewe a bowe mightily, and smote the King of Israel betweene the ioyntes of his brigandine: Therefore he saide to his charetman, Turne thine hand, and carie mee out of the host: for I am hurt.

34 Y creció la batalla aquel día: mas el rey de Israel estuvo en pie en el carro enfrente de los Siros hasta la tarde: y murió a puesta del sol.

And the battel increased that day: and the King of Israel stood still in his charet against the Aramites vntil euen, and dyed at the time of the sunne going downe.
