1 Pedro 5
1 Yo ruego a los ancianos que están entre vosotros, (yo anciano también con ellos, y testigo de las aflicciones de Cristo, que soy también participante de la gloria que ha de ser revelada: )
The elders among you I exhort, who am a fellow-elder, and a witness of the sufferings of Christ, who am also a sharer in the glory that is to be revealed;
2 Apacentád el rebaño de Dios que está ent re vosotros, teniendo cuidado de él, no por fuerza, mas voluntariamente: no por ganancia deshonesta, sino de un ánimo pronto;
tend the flock of God which is among you, overseeing it, not by constraint, but willingly; not for base gain, but with ready mind;
3 Y no como teniendo señorío sobre las herencias de Dios, sino de tal manera que seáis dechados de la grey.
not as lording it over your allotted charge, but being examples to the flock;
4 Y cuando apareciere el Príncipe de los pastores, vosotros recibiréis la corona inmarcesible de gloria.
and when the chief Shepherd shall appear, ye will receive the crown of glory that fadeth not away.
5 Semejantemente vosotros los jóvenes, sed sujetos a los ancianos, de tal manera que seáis todos sujetos uno a otro. Vestíos de humildad de ánimo; porque Dios resiste a los soberbios, y da gracia a los humildes.
In like manner, ye younger men, submit yourselves to the elder; and all of you be clothed with humility toward each other; for “God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace to the humble.”
6 Humilláos pues debajo de la poderosa mano de Dios, para que él os ensalce cuando fuere tiempo:
Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time;
7 Echando toda vuestra solicitud en él; porque él tiene cuidado de vosotros.
casting all your care upon him, because he careth for you.
8 Sed templados, y velád; porque vuestro adversario el diablo anda como león bramando en derredor de vosotros, buscando alguno que trague:
Be sober, be watchful. Your adversary the Devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour;
9 Al cual resistíd firmes en la fe, sabiendo que las mismas aflicciones han de ser cumplidas en la compañía de vuestros hermanos que están en el mundo.
whom resist, steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same sufferings are being accomplished in your brethren in the world.
10 Mas el Dios de toda gracia, que nos ha llamado a su gloria eterna por Jesu Cristo, después que hubiereis un poco de tiempo padecido, el mismo os perfeccione, confirme, corrobore, y establezca: (aiōnios g166)
But the God of all grace, who called you to his everlasting glory in Christ Jesus, will, after ye have suffered a while, himself make you perfect, establish, strengthen, settle you. (aiōnios g166)
To him be the dominion for ever. Amen. (aiōn g165)
12 Por Silvano que os es (según yo pienso) hermano fiel, os he escrito brevemente, amonestándoos, y testificándo os, que ésta es la verdadera gracia de Dios, en la cual estáis.
By Silvanus, the faithful brother as I think, I have written to you in few words, exhorting, and testifying that this is the true grace of God wherein ye stand.
13 La iglesia que está en Babilonia, juntamente elegida con vosotros, se os encomienda, y Márcos mi hijo.
The church in Babylon, chosen with you, saluteth you; and Mark, my son.
14 Saludáos unos a otros con beso de amor. Paz a vosotros todos, los que estáis en Cristo Jesús. Amén.
Salute one another with a kiss of love. Peace to you all that are in Christ.
