1 Y como Salomón hubo acabado la obra de la casa de Jehová, y la casa real, y todo lo que Salomón quiso hacer,

And it came to pass, when Solomon had made an end of building the house of Yahweh, and the house of the king, and everything that Solomon desired, which he was pleased to make,

2 Jehová apareció a Salomón la segunda vez, como le había aparecido en Gabaón,

then appeared Yahweh unto Solomon, a second time, —as he appeared unto him, in Gibeon.

3 Y díjole Jehová: Yo he oído tu oración, y tu ruego, que has hecho en mi presencia. Yo he santificado esta casa que tú has edificado, para poner mi nombre en ella para siempre, y en ella estarán mis ojos y mi corazón todos los días.

And Yahweh said unto him—I have heard thy prayer and thy supplication, wherewith thou hast made supplication before me, I have hallowed this house, which thou hast built, to put my Name there unto times age-abiding, —and mine eyes and my heart shall be there, continually:

4 Y tú, si anduvieres delante de mí, como anduvo David tu padre, en integridad de corazón, y en equidad, haciendo todas las cosas que yo te he mandado, y guardando mis estatutos y mis derechos;

As for thee, therefore, if thou wilt walk before me, as David thy father walked, with a whole heart and with uprightness, to do according to all that I have commanded thee, —and, my statutes and my regulations, wilt keep,

5 Yo afirmaré el trono de tu reino sobre Israel para siempre, como hablé a David tu padre, diciendo: No faltará de ti varón en el trono de Israel.

then will I establish the throne of thy kingdom over Israel, unto times age-abiding, —as I promised unto David thy father, saying, There shall not be cut off to thee a man, from off the throne of Israel.

6 Mas si apartando os apartareis de mí vosotros y vuestros hijos, y no guardareis mis mandamientos, y mis estatutos que yo he dado delante de vosotros, mas fuereis, y sirviereis a dioses ajenos, y los adorareis:

If ye, turn back, ye or your sons, from following me, and keep not my commandments, my statutes, which I have set before you, —but depart and serve other gods, and bow yourselves down to them,

7 Yo cortaré a Israel de sobre la haz de la tierra, que yo les he entregado; y esta casa que he santificado a mi nombre yo la echaré de delante de mí, e Israel será por proverbio y fábula a todos los pueblos.

then will I cut off Israel, from the face of the soil, which I have given unto them, and, the house which I have hallowed for my Name, will I suffer to be carried away from before me, —and Israel shall become a byword and a mockery, among all the peoples;

8 Y esta casa que estaba en estima, cualquiera que pasare por ella se pasmará, y silbará: y dirán: ¿Por qué ha hecho así Jehová a esta tierra, y a esta casa?

and, this house which had been renowned, shall be desolate, every one that passeth by it, shall be astonished and shall whistle, —and men shall say—For what cause, hath Yahweh done, thus, unto this land, and unto this house?

9 Y dirán: Por cuanto dejaron a Jehová su Dios, que había sacado a sus padres de tierra de Egipto, y echaron mano a los dioses ajenos, y los adoraron, y les sirvieron: por eso ha traído Jehová sobre ellos todo aqueste mal.

And men will answer—Because they forsook Yahweh their God, who brought forth their fathers out of the land of Egypt, and laid hold of other gods, and bowed themselves down to them, and served them, for this cause, hath Yahweh brought in upon them all this ruin.

10 Y aconteció al cabo de veinte años que Salomón había edificado las dos casas; es a saber, la casa de Jehová, y la casa real,

And it came to pass, at the end of twenty years, when Solomon had built the two houses, —the house of Yahweh, and the house of the king;

11 (Para las cuales Hiram rey de Tiro había traído a Salomón madera de cedro y de haya, y oro, cuanto él quiso, ) que el rey Salomón dio a Hiram veinte ciudades en tierra de Galilea.

Hiram king of Tyre having supplied Solomon with timber of cedar, and with timber of fir, and with gold, according to all his desire, that, then, King Solomon gave unto Hiram twenty cities, in the land of Galilee.

12 E Hiram salió de Tiro para ver las ciudades que Salomón le había dado, y no le contentaron.

And Hiram came out from Tyre to view the cities which, Solomon, had given him, —and they were not pleasing in his eyes.

13 Y dijo: ¿Qué ciudades son estas que me has dado, hermano? Y púsoles por nombre, tierra de Cabul, hasta hoy.

So he said—What cities are these which thou hast given me, my brother? And he called them, Unfruitful Land, [as they are called] unto this day.

14 E Hiram había enviado al rey ciento y veinte talentos de oro.

Now Hiram had sent to the king, —a hundred and twenty talents of gold.

15 Y esta es la cuenta del tributo que el rey Salomón impuso para edificar la casa de Jehová, y su casa, y a Mello, y el muro de Jerusalem, y a Heser, y Mageddo, y Gazer.

Now, the following, is an account of the tax which King Solomon raised, for building the house of Yahweh and his own house, and Millo, and the wall of Jerusalem, —and Hazor and Megiddo, and Gezer.

16 Faraón el rey de Egipto había subido, y tomado a Gazer, y la había quemado, y había muerto los Cananeos que habitaban la ciudad, y la había dado en don a su hija, la mujer de Salomón.

Pharaoh king of Egypt, had gone up and captured Gezer, and burned it with fire, the Canaanites also who were dwelling in the city, had he slain, —and had given it as a dowry, to his daughter, wife of Solomon.

17 Y Salomón restauró a Gazer, y a la baja Bet-orón.

So then Solomon built Gezer, and Beth-horon, the nether,

18 Y a Baalat, y a Tadmor, en tierra del desierto.

and Baalath and Tadmor in the wilderness, in the land;

19 Asimismo todas las ciudades donde Salomón tenía municiones, y las ciudades de los carros, y las ciudades de la gente de a caballo, y todo lo que Salomón deseó edificar en Jerusalem, en el Líbano, y en toda la tierra de su señorío.

also all the store cities, which Solomon had, and the cities for chariots, and the cities for horsemen, —and the desire of Solomon that he was pleased to build in Jerusalem, and in Lebanon, and in all the land that he ruled over.

20 A todos los pueblos que quedaron de los Amorreos, Jetteos, Ferezeos, Heveos, Jebuseos, que no fueron de los hijos de Israel,

All the people that were left, of the Amorites, the Hittites, the Perizzites, the Hivites and the Jebusites, who were, not of the sons of Israel;

21 A sus hijos, que quedaron en la tierra después de ellos, que los hijos de Israel no pudieron acabar, hizo Salomón que sirviesen con tributo hasta hoy.

their sons, who were left after them in the land, whom the sons of Israel were not able to devote to destruction, Solomon levied them for a toiling labour-band [which remaineth] unto this day.

22 Mas a ninguno de los hijos de Israel impuso Salomón servicio, sino eran, o hombres de guerra, o sus criados, o sus príncipes, o sus capitanes, o príncipes de sus carros, o su gente de a caballo.

But, of the sons of Israel, Solomon devoted none to bond-service, —but, they, were men of war, and his servants, and his generals, and his heroes, and captains of his chariots, and his horsemen.

23 Y eran los que Salomón había hecho príncipes, y prepósitos sobre las obras de Salomón, quinientos y cincuenta, los cuales estaban sobre el pueblo que trabajaba en aquella obra.

These, were the chiefs of the officers, who were over the work, for Solomon, five hundred and fifty, —who ruled over the people that wrought in the work.

24 Y subió la hija de Faraón de la ciudad de David a su casa, que Salomón le había edificado: entonces él edificó a Mello.

Scarcely had Pharaoh’s daughter come up out of the city of David, into her own house, which he had built for her, when he built Millo.

25 Y ofrecía Salomón tres veces cada un año holocaustos y pacíficos sobre el altar que él edificó a Jehová: y quemaba perfumes sobre el que estaba delante de Jehová, después que la casa fue acabada.

And Solomon used to offer, three times a year, ascending-sacrifices and peace-offerings, upon the altar which he had built unto Yahweh, and to offer incense at the altar which was before Yahweh, —thus Solomon gave completeness unto the house.

26 Hizo también el rey Salomón navíos en Asión-gaber, que es junto a Elat a la ribera del mar Bermejo, en la tierra de Edom;

A fleet also, did King Solomon build in Ezion-geber, which is beside Eloth on the shore of the Red Sea, in the land of Edom.

27 Y envió Hiram en ellos a sus siervos, marineros y diestros en la mar, con los siervos de Salomón:

And Hiram sent in the fleet his servants, seamen, having knowledge of the sea, —with the servants of Solomon;

28 Los cuales fueron a Ofir, y tomaron de allá oro, cuatrocientos y veinte talentos, y trajéron lo al rey Salomón.

and they came to Ophir, and fetched from thence, gold, four hundred and twenty talents, —and brought it to King Solomon.
