1 Reyes 8

1 Entonces Salomón juntó los ancianos de Israel, y a todas las cabezas de las tribus, y a los príncipes de los padres de los hijos de Israel al rey Salomón en Jerusalem, para traer el arca del concierto de Jehová de la ciudad de David, que es Sión.

Then Solomon assembled the elders of Israel, and all the heads of the tribes, the chief of the fathers of the children of Israel, to king Solomon in Jerusalem, that they might bring the ark of the covenant of the LORD out of the city of David, which [is] Zion.

2 Y fueron juntados al rey Salomón todos los varones de Israel en el mes de Etamín, en día solemne, que es el mes séptimo.

And all the men of Israel assembled themselves to king Solomon at the feast in the month Ethanim, which [is] the seventh month.

3 Y vinieron todos los ancianos de Israel, y los sacerdotes tomaron el arca:

And all the elders of Israel came, and the priests took up the ark.

4 Y trajeron el arca de Jehová, y el tabernáculo del testimonio, y todos los vasos sagrados que estaban en el tabernáculo; y los cuales trajeron los sacerdotes y Levitas.

And they brought the ark of the LORD, and the tabernacle of the congregation, and all the holy vessels that [were] in the tabernacle, even those did the priests and the Levites bring.

5 Y el rey Salomón, y toda la congregación de Israel que a él se había juntado, estaban con él delante del arca, sacrificando ovejas y vacas, que por la multitud no se podían contar ni numerar.

And king Solomon, and all the congregation of Israel, that were assembled to him, [were] with him before the ark, sacrificing sheep and oxen, that could not be told nor numbered for multitude.

6 Y los sacerdotes metieron el arca del concierto de Jehová en su lugar, en el oratorio de la casa, en el lugar santísimo, debajo de las alas de los querubines.

And the priests brought the ark of the covenant of the LORD to its place, into the oracle of the house, to the most holy [place], [even] under the wings of the cherubim.

7 Porque los querubines tenían extendidas las alas sobre el lugar del arca; y cubrían los querubines así el arca como sus barras por encima.

For the cherubim spread forth [their] two wings over the place of the ark, and the cherubim covered the ark and the staffs thereof above.

8 E hicieron salir las barras; y las cabezas de las barras se parecían desde el santuario, que estaba delante del oratorio, mas no se veían desde a fuera; y así se quedaron hasta hoy.

And they drew out the staffs, that the ends of the staffs were seen out in the holy [place] before the oracle, and they were not seen without: and there they are to this day.

9 En el arca ninguna cosa había más de las dos tablas de piedra, que había puesto allí Moisés en Horeb, cuando Jehová hizo la alianza con los hijos de Israel, cuando salieron de la tierra de Egipto.

[There was] nothing in the ark save the two tables of stone, which Moses deposited there at Horeb, when the LORD made [a covenant] with the children of Israel, when they came out of the land of Egypt.

10 Y como los sacerdotes salieron del santuario, una nube hinchió la casa de Jehová.

And it came to pass, when the priests had come out of the holy [place], that the cloud filled the house of the LORD,

11 Y los sacerdotes no pudieron estar para ministrar por causa de la nube; porque la gloria de Jehová había henchido la casa de Jehová.

So that the priests could not stand to minister because of the cloud: for the glory of the LORD had filled the house of the LORD.

12 Entonces dijo Salomón: Jehová ha dicho que él habitará en la oscuridad.

Then spoke Solomon, The LORD said that he would dwell in the thick darkness.

13 Yo he edificado casa por morada para ti, asiento en que tú habites para siempre.

I have surely built thee a house to dwell in, a settled place for thee to abide in for ever.

14 Y volviendo el rey su rostro, bendijo a toda la congregación de Israel; y toda la congregación de Israel estaba en pie.

And the king turned his face about, and blessed all the congregation of Israel: and all the congregation of Israel were standing.

15 Y dijo: Bendito sea Jehová Dios de Israel, que habló de su boca a David mi padre, y con su mano lo ha cumplido, diciendo:

And he said, Blessed [be] the LORD God of Israel, who spoke with his mouth to David my father, and hath with his hand fulfilled [it], saying,

16 Desde el día que saqué mi pueblo Israel de Egipto, no he escogido ciudad de todas las tribus de Israel, para edificar casa en la cual estuviese mi nombre, aunque escogí a David para que presidiese en mi pueblo Israel.

Since the day that I brought forth my people Israel from Egypt, I have chosen no city out of all the tribes of Israel to build a house, that my name might be therein; but I chose David to be over my people Israel.

17 Y David mi padre tuvo en voluntad de edificar casa al nombre de Jehová Dios de Israel.

And it was in the heart of David my father to build a house for the name of the LORD God of Israel.

18 Mas Jehová dijo a David mi padre: En cuanto a haber tú tenido en voluntad de edificar casa a mi nombre, bien has hecho de tener tal voluntad:

And the LORD said to David my father, Whereas it was in thy heart to build a house to my name, thou didst well that it was in thy heart.

19 Empero tú no edificarás la casa, sino tu hijo, que saldrá de tus lomos: él edificará casa a mi nombre.

Nevertheless, thou shalt not build the house; but thy son that shall come forth out of thy loins, he shall build the house to my name.

20 Y Jehová ha hecho firme su palabra que había dicho, que me he levantado yo en lugar de David mi padre, asentándome en el trono de Israel, como Jehová había dicho: y edifiqué la casa al nombre de Jehová Dios de Israel.

And the LORD hath performed his word that he spoke, and I have risen in the room of David my father, and sit on the throne of Israel, as the LORD promised, and have built a house for the name of the LORD God of Israel.

21 Y he puesto en ella lugar para el arca, en la cual está el concierto de Jehová, que él hizo con nuestros padres, cuando los sacó de la tierra de Egipto.

And I have set there a place for the ark, in which [is] the covenant of the LORD, which he made with our fathers, when he brought them from the land of Egypt.

22 Y púsose Salomón delante del altar de Jehová, en presencia de toda la congregación de Israel, y extendiendo sus manos al cielo,

And Solomon stood before the altar of the LORD in the presence of all the congregation of Israel, and spread forth his hands towards Heaven:

23 Dijo: Jehová, Dios de Israel, no hay Dios como tú, ni arriba en los cielos, ni abajo en la tierra, que guardas el concierto, y la misericordia a tus siervos, los que andan delante de ti en todo su corazón.

And he said, LORD God of Israel, [there is] no God like thee, in heaven above, or on earth beneath, who keepest covenant and mercy with thy servants that walk before thee with all their heart.

24 Que has guardado a tu siervo David mi padre lo que le dijiste: lo dijiste con tu boca, y con tu mano lo has cumplido, como lo muestra este día.

Who hast kept with thy servant David my father that which thou didst promise him: thou didst speak also with thy mouth, and hast fulfilled [it] with thy hand, as [it is] this day.

25 Ahora pues Jehová Dios de Israel, conserva a tu siervo David mi padre lo que le prometiste, diciendo: No faltará varón de ti delante de mí, que se asiente en el trono de Israel; con tal que tus hijos guarden su camino, que anden delante de mí, como tú has andado delante de mí.

Therefore now, LORD God of Israel, keep with thy servant David my father that which thou didst promise him, saying, There shall not fail thee a man in my sight to sit on the throne of Israel; provided thy children take heed to their way, that they walk before me as thou hast walked before me.

26 Ahora pues, Dios de Israel, sea firme tu palabra, que dijiste a tu siervo David mi padre.

And now, O God of Israel, let thy word, I pray thee, be verified, which thou didst speak to thy servant David my father.

27 ¿Es verdad que Dios haya de morar sobre la tierra? He aquí que los cielos, los cielos de los cielos, no te comprenden, ¿cuánto menos esta casa que yo he edificado?

But will God indeed dwell on the earth? behold, the heaven and heaven of heavens cannot contain thee; how much less this house that I have built?

28 Mas tú mirarás a la oración de tu siervo, y a su rogativa, Jehová Dios mío, oyendo el clamor y la oración que tu siervo hace hoy delante de ti.

Yet have thou respect to the prayer of thy servant, and to his supplication, O LORD my God, to hearken to the cry and to the prayer, which thy servant prayeth before thee this day:

29 Que estén tus ojos abiertos sobre esta casa de noche y de día; sobre este lugar, del cual has dicho: Mi nombre será allí: y que oigas la oración que tu siervo hará en este lugar.

That thy eyes may be open towards this house night and day, [even] towards the place of which thou hast said, My name shall be there: that thou mayest hearken to the prayer which thy servant shall make towards this place.

30 Oirás pues la oración de tu siervo, y de tu pueblo Israel; cuando oraren en este lugar, también tú lo oirás en el lugar de tu habitación, desde los cielos: qué oigas y perdones.

And hearken thou to the supplication of thy servant, and of thy people Israel, when they shall pray towards this place: and hear thou in heaven thy dwelling-place: and when thou hearest, forgive.

31 Cuando alguno hubiere pecado contra su prójimo, y le tomaren juramento, haciéndole jurar, y viniere el juramento delante de tu altar en esta casa;

If any man shall trespass against his neighbor, and an oath be laid upon him to cause him to swear, and the oath come before thy altar in this house:

32 Tú oirás desde el cielo, y harás, y juzgarás a tus siervos, condenando al impío, dando su camino sobre su cabeza, y justificando al justo, dándole conforme a su justicia.

Then hear thou in heaven, and do, and judge thy servants, condemning the wicked, to bring his way upon his head; and justifying the righteous, to give him according to his righteousness.

33 Cuando tu pueblo Israel hubiere caído delante de sus enemigos, por haber pecado contra ti, y se volvieren a ti, y confesaren tu nombre, y oraren, y te rogaren y suplicaren en esta casa;

When thy people Israel shall be smitten before the enemy, because they have sinned against thee, and shall turn again to thee, and confess thy name, and pray, and make supplication to thee in this house:

34 Tú los oirás en los cielos, y perdonarás el pecado de tu pueblo Israel, y volverlos has a la tierra que diste a sus padres.

Then hear thou in heaven, and forgive the sin of thy people Israel, and bring them again to the land which thou gavest to their fathers.

35 Cuando el cielo se cerrare, que no haya lluvia, por haber pecado contra ti, y te rogaren en este lugar, y confesaren tu nombre, y se volvieren del pecado, cuando los hubieres afligido;

When heaven is shut up, and there is no rain, because they have sinned against thee; if they pray towards this place, and confess thy name, and turn from their sin, when thou afflictest them:

36 Tú oirás en los cielos, y perdonarás el pecado de tus siervos, y de tu pueblo Israel, enseñándoles el buen camino en que anden; y darás lluvias sobre tu tierra, la cual diste a tu pueblo por heredad.

Then hear thou in heaven, and forgive the sin of thy servants, and of thy people Israel, that thou mayest teach them the good way in which they should walk, and give rain upon thy land, which thou hast given to thy people for an inheritance.

37 Cuando en la tierra hubiere hambre o pestilencia; o hubiere tizoncillo, o niebla; o hubiere langosta, o pulgón; si sus enemigos los tuvieren cercados en la tierra de sus puertas; cualquiera plaga o enfermedad que sea;

If there shall be in the land famine, if there shall be pestilence, blasting, mildew, locust, [or] if there shall be caterpillar; if their enemy shall besiege them in the land of their cities, whatever plague, whatever sickness [there shall be];

38 Toda oración, y toda suplicación, que hiciere cualquier hombre, o todo tu pueblo Israel, cuando cualquiera sintiere la plaga de su corazón, y extendiere sus manos a esta casa;

Whatever prayer and supplication shall be [made] by any man, [or] by all thy people Israel, who shall know every man the plague of his own heart, and spread forth his hands towards this house:

39 Tú oirás en los cielos, en la habitación de tu morada, y perdonarás, y harás; y darás a cada uno conforme a todos sus caminos, cuyo corazón tú conoces; (porque tú solo conoces el corazón de todos los hijos de los hombres; )

Then hear thou in heaven thy dwelling-place, and forgive, and do, and give to every man according to his ways, whose heart thou knowest; (for thou, [even] thou only, knowest the hearts of all the children of men; )

40 Para que te teman todos los días que vivieren sobre la haz de la tierra, que tú diste a nuestros padres.

That they may fear thee all the days that they live in the land which thou gavest to our fathers.

41 Asimismo al extranjero, que no es de tu pueblo Israel, que hubiere venido de lejas tierras a causa de tu nombre,

Moreover, concerning a stranger, that [is] not of thy people Israel, but cometh out of a far country for thy name's sake;

42 (Porque oirán tu grande nombre, y tu mano fuerte, y tu brazo extendido; ) y viniere a orar a esta casa;

(For they shall hear of thy great name, and of thy strong hand, and of thy out-stretched arm; ) when he shall come and pray towards this house;

43 Tú oirás en los cielos, en la habitación de tu morada, y harás conforme a todo aquello por lo cual el extranjero hubiere clamado a ti: para que todos los pueblos de la tierra conozcan tu nombre, y te teman, como tu pueblo Israel, y sepan que tu nombre es llamado sobre esta casa, que yo edifiqué.

Hear thou in heaven thy dwelling-place, and do according to all that the stranger calleth to thee for: that all people of the earth may know thy name, to fear thee, as [do] thy people Israel; and that they may know that this house which I have built is called by thy name.

44 Si tu pueblo saliere en batalla contra sus enemigos, por el camino que tú los enviares, y oraren a Jehová hacia la ciudad que tú elegiste, y hacia la casa que yo edifiqué a tu nombre;

If thy people go out to battle against their enemy, whithersoever thou shalt send them, and shall pray to the LORD towards the city which thou hast chosen, and [towards] the house that I have built for thy name:

45 Tú oirás en los cielos su oración, y su suplicación, y les harás derecho.

Then hear thou in heaven their prayer and their supplication, and maintain their cause.

46 Si hubieren pecado contra ti, (porque no hay hombre que no peque, ) y tú estuvieres airado contra ellos, y los entregares delante del enemigo, para que los cautiven, y los lleven a tierra de sus enemigos, sea lejos, o cerca;

If they shall sin against thee, (for [there is] no man that sinneth not, ) and thou shalt be angry with them, and deliver them to the enemy, so that they carry them away captives to the land of the enemy, far or near;

47 Y ellos volvieren en sí en la tierra donde fueren cautivos: si volvieren, y oraren a ti en la tierra de los que los cautivaron, y dijeren: Pecamos, habemos hecho lo malo, habemos hecho impiedad:

[Yet] if they shall bethink themselves in the land whither they were carried captives, and repent and make supplication to thee in the land of them that carried them captives, saying, We have sinned, and have done perversely, we have committed wickedness;

48 Y se convirtieren a ti de todo su corazón, y de toda su alma, en la tierra de sus enemigos, que los hubieren llevado cautivos, y oraren a ti hacia su tierra, que tú diste a sus padres, hacia la ciudad que tú elegiste, y hacia la casa que yo he edificado a tu nombre;

And [so] return to thee with all their heart, and with all their soul, in the land of their enemies, who led them away captive, and pray to thee towards their land, which thou gavest to their fathers, the city which thou hast chosen, and the house which I have built for thy name:

49 Tú oirás en los cielos, en la habitación de tu morada, su oración, y su suplicación, y les harás derecho,

Then hear thou their prayer and their supplication in heaven thy dwelling-place, and maintain their cause,

50 Y perdonarás a tu pueblo, que había pecado contra ti, y a todas sus rebeliones con que se habrán rebelado contra ti: y harás que hayan de ellos misericordia, los que los hubieren cautivado.

And forgive thy people that have sinned against thee, and all their transgressions in which they have transgressed against thee, and give them compassion before them who carried them captive, that they may have compassion on them:

51 Porque ellos son tu pueblo, y tu heredad, que tú sacaste de Egipto, de en medio del horno de hierro:

For they [are] thy people, and thy inheritance, which thou broughtest out of Egypt, from the midst of the furnace of iron:

52 Que tus ojos estén abiertos a la oración de tu siervo, y a la suplicación de tu pueblo Israel, para oírlos en todo lo que te invocaren:

That thy eyes may be open to the supplication of thy servant, and to the supplication of thy people Israel, to hearken to them in all their supplications to thee.

53 Pues que tú los apartaste para ti por tu heredad de todos los pueblos de la tierra, de la manera que lo dijiste por mano de Moisés tu siervo, cuando sacaste a nuestros padres de Egipto, Señor Jehová.

For thou didst separate them from among all the people of the earth, [to be] thy inheritance, as thou didst speak by the hand of Moses thy servant, when thou broughtest our fathers out of Egypt, O LORD God.

54 Y fue, como Salomón acabó de orar a Jehová toda esta oración y suplicación, levantóse de estar de rodillas, y de tener sus manos extendidas al cielo delante del altar de Jehová.

And it was [so], that when Solomon had made an end of praying all this prayer and supplication to the LORD, he arose from before the altar of the LORD, from kneeling on his knees, with his hands spread up to heaven.

55 Y púsose en pie, y bendijo a toda la congregación de Israel, diciendo a alta voz:

And he stood, and blessed all the congregation of Israel with a loud voice, saying,

56 Bendito sea Jehová, que ha dado reposo a su pueblo Israel, conforme a todo lo que él había dicho: ninguna palabra de todas sus buenas promesas, que dijo por Moisés su siervo, ha faltado.

Blessed [be] the LORD, that hath given rest to his people Israel, according to all that he promised: there hath not failed one word of all his good promise, which he promised by the hand of Moses his servant.

57 Sea con nosotros Jehová nuestro Dios, como fue con nuestros padres, y no nos desampare, ni nos deje:

The LORD our God be with us, as he was with our fathers: let him not leave us, nor forsake us:

58 Haciendo inclinar nuestro corazón a sí, para que andemos en todos sus caminos, y guardemos sus mandamientos, y sus estatutos, y sus derechos, los cuales mandó a nuestros padres.

That he may incline our hearts to him, to walk in all his ways, and to keep his commandments, and his statutes, and his judgments, which he commanded our fathers.

59 Y que estas mis palabras con que he orado delante de Jehová, estén junto de Jehová nuestro Dios de día y de noche: para que él haga el juicio de su siervo, y de su pueblo Israel, cada cosa en su tiempo.

And let these my words with which I have made supplication before the LORD, be nigh to the LORD our God day and night, that he may maintain the cause of his servant, and the cause of his people Israel at all times, as the matter shall require:

60 Para que todos los pueblos de la tierra sepan que Jehová es Dios, y no hay otro.

That all the people of the earth may know, that the LORD [is] God, [and that there is] none else.

61 Y sea perfecto vuestro corazón con Jehová nuestro Dios, andando en sus estatutos, y guardando sus mandamientos, como el día de hoy.

Let your heart therefore be perfect with the LORD our God, to walk in his statutes, and to keep his commandments, as at this day.

62 Entonces el rey, y todo Israel con él, sacrificaron sacrificios delante de Jehová.

And the king, and all Israel with him, offered sacrifice before the LORD.

63 Y sacrificó Salomón sacrificios pacíficos, los cuales sacrificó a Jehová, que fueron veinte y dos mil bueyes, y ciento y veinte mil ovejas: y dedicaron la casa de Jehová, el rey y todos los hijos de Israel.

And Solomon offered a sacrifice of peace-offerings, which he offered to the LORD, two and twenty thousand oxen, and a hundred and twenty thousand sheep. So the king and all the children of Israel dedicated the house of the LORD.

64 Aquel mismo día santificó el rey el medio del patio que estaba delante de la casa de Jehová; porque hizo allí los holocaustos, y los presentes, y los sebos de los pacíficos, por cuanto el altar de metal, que estaba delante de Jehová, era pequeño, y no cupieran en él los holocaustos, y los presentes, y los sebos de los pacíficos.

The same day did the king consecrate the middle of the court that [was] before the house of the LORD: for there he offered burnt-offerings, and meat-offerings, and the fat of the peace-offerings: because the brazen altar that [was] before the LORD [was] too little to receive the burnt-offerings, and meat-offerings, and the fat of the peace-offerings.

65 En aquel tiempo Salomón hizo fiesta, y todo Israel con él, una grande congregación, desde como entran en Emat hasta el arroyo de Egipto, delante de Jehová nuestro Dios, por siete días y otros siete días, es a saber, por catorce días.

And at that time Solomon held a feast, and all Israel with him, a great congregation, from the entrance into Hamath to the river of Egypt, before the LORD our God, seven days and seven days, [even] fourteen days.

66 Y el octavo día despidió al pueblo: y ellos bendiciendo al rey, se fueron a sus estancias alegres y gozosos de corazón, por todos los beneficios que Jehová había hecho a David su siervo, y a su pueblo Israel.

On the eighth day he sent the people away: and they blessed the king, and went to their tents joyful and glad of heart for all the goodness that the LORD had done for David his servant, and for Israel his people.
