1 Reyes 18
1 Pasados muchos días, fue palabra de Jehová al tercer año a Elías, diciendo: Vé, muéstrate a Acab, y yo daré lluvia sobre la haz de la tierra.
And it was days many and [the] word of Yahweh it came to Elijah in the year third saying go present yourself to Ahab so let me give rain on [the] surface of the ground.
2 Y Elías fue para mostrarse a Acab: y había grande hambre en Samaria.
And he went Elijah to present himself to Ahab and the famine [was] severe in Samaria.
3 Y Acab llamó a Abdías su mayordomo, el cual Abdías era en grande manera temeroso de Jehová.
And he summoned Ahab Obadiah who [was] over the household and Obadiah he was fearing Yahweh exceedingly.
4 Porque cuando Jezabel talaba los profetas de Jehová, Abdías tomó cien profetas, los cuales escondió de cincuenta en cincuenta por cuevas, y los sustentó a pan y agua.
And it was when cut off Jezebel [the] prophets of Yahweh and he took Obadiah one hundred prophets and he hid them fifty man in the cave and he supplied them food and water.
5 Y dijo Acab a Abdías: Vé por la provincia a todas las fuentes de aguas, y a todos los arroyos, si a dicha hallaremos grama, con que conservemos la vida a los caballos y a las acémilas, para que no nos quedemos sin bestias.
And he said Ahab to Obadiah go in the land to all [the] springs of water and to all the wadis perhaps - we will find grass so we may preserve alive horse and mule and not we will cut off any of the livestock.
6 Y partieron entre sí la provincia para andarla: Acab fue por sí por un camino, y Abdías fue por sí por otro.
And they divided to themselves the land to pass in it Ahab he went in a direction one to only him and Obadiah he went in a direction one to only him.
7 Y yendo Abdías por el camino, topóse con Elías: y como le conoció, postróse sobre su rostro, y dijo: ¿No eres tú mi señor Elías?
And he was Obadiah on the way and there! Elijah to meet him and he recognized him and he fell on face his and he said ¿ you [is] this O lord my Elijah.
8 Y él respondió: Yo soy. Vé; di a tu amo: He aquí Elías.
And he said to him [it is] I go say to master your here! Elijah.
9 Y él dijo: ¿En qué he pecado, para que tú entregues tu siervo en mano de Acab, para que me mate?
And he said what? have I sinned that you [are] giving servant your in [the] hand of Ahab to put to death me.
10 Vive Jehová tu Dios, que ni ha habido nación, ni reino donde mi señor no haya enviado a buscarte: y respondiendo todos: No está aquí; él ha conjurado a reinos y a naciones, si te han hallado.
[by] [the] life - Of Yahweh God your if there [is] a nation and a kingdom where not he has sent master my there to seek you and they said not and he made swear the kingdom and the nation that not it has found you.
11 Y ahora tú dices: Vé; di a tu amo: Aquí está Elías.
And now you [are] saying go say to master your here! Elijah.
12 Y acontecerá que desde que yo me haya partido de ti, el Espíritu de Jehová te llevará donde yo no sepa: y viniendo yo, y dando las nuevas a Acab, y no hallándote él, él me matará: y tu siervo teme a Jehová desde su mocedad.
And it will be I - I will go from with you and [the] spirit of Yahweh - it will carry away you to where not I know and I will go to tell to Ahab and not he will find you and he will kill me and servant your [is] fearing Yahweh since youth my.
13 ¿No ha sido dicho a mi señor lo que hice, cuando Jezabel mataba los profetas de Jehová; que escondí de los profetas de Jehová cien varones, de cincuenta en cincuenta en cuevas, y los mantuve a pan y agua?
¿ Not has it been told to lord my [that] which I did when killed Jezebel [the] prophets of Yahweh and I hid of [the] prophets of Yahweh one hundred man fifty fifty man in the cave and I supplied them food and water.
14 ¿Y ahora dices tú: Vé; di a tu amo: Aquí está Elías, para que él me mate?
And now you [are] saying go say to master your here! Elijah and he will kill me.
15 Y díjole Elías: Vive Jehová de los ejércitos, delante del cual estoy, que hoy me mostraré a él.
And he said Elijah [by] [the] life of Yahweh of hosts whom I stand before him for this day I will present myself to him.
16 Entonces Abdías fue a encontrarse con Acab, y dióle el aviso: y Acab vino a encontrarse con Elías.
And he went Obadiah to meet Ahab and he told to him and he went Ahab to meet Elijah.
17 Y como Acab vio a Elías, díjole Acab: ¿Eres tú él que alborotas a Israel?
And it was when saw Ahab Elijah and he said Ahab to him ¿ you [is] this O [one who] troubles Israel.
18 Y él respondió: Yo no he alborotado a Israel, sino tú, y la casa de tu padre, dejando los mandamientos de Jehová, y siguiendo a los Baales.
And he said not I have troubled Israel that except you and [the] household of father your because have forsaken you [the] commandments of Yahweh and you have walked after the Baals.
19 Envía pues ahora, y júntame a todo Israel en el monte de Carmelo, y los cuatrocientos y cincuenta profetas de Baal, y los cuatrocientos profetas de los bosques, que comen de la mesa de Jezabel.
And now send gather to me all Israel to [the] mountain of Carmel and [the] prophets of Baal four hundred and fifty and [the] prophets of Asherah four hundred [who] eat of [the] table of Jezebel.
20 Entonces Acab envió a todos los hijos de Israel, y juntó los profetas en el monte de Carmelo:
And he sent Ahab among all [the] people of Israel and he gathered the prophets to [the] mountain of Carmel.
21 Y acercándose Elías a todo el pueblo, dijo: ¿Hasta cuándo cojearéis vosotros entre dos pensamientos? Si Jehová es Dios, seguídle: y si Baal, id en pos de él. Y el pueblo no respondió palabra.
And he drew near Elijah to all the people and he said until when? [will] you [be] limping on [the] two the crutches if Yahweh [is] God walk after him and if Baal walk after him and not they answered the people him a word.
22 Y Elías tornó a decir al pueblo: Solo yo he quedado profeta de Jehová; y de los profetas de Baal hay cuatrocientos y cincuenta varones.
And he said Elijah to the people I I am left a prophet of Yahweh to alone me and [the] prophets of Baal [are] four hundred and fifty man.
23 Dénsenos pues dos bueyes, y escójanse ellos el uno, y córtenle en piezas, y pónganle sobre leña, mas no pongan fuego debajo; y yo aparejaré el otro buey, y le pondré sobre leña, y ningún fuego pondré debajo.
And let people give to us two young bulls and let them choose for themselves the young bull one and let them cut in pieces it and they may put on the wood and fire not they will set and I I will prepare - the young bull one and I will put on the wood and fire not I will set.
24 Y vosotros invocaréis en el nombre de vuestros dioses, y yo invocaré en el nombre de Jehová; y será, que el Dios que respondiere por fuego, sea el Dios. Y todo el pueblo respondió, diciendo: Es bien dicho.
And you will call on [the] name of god your and I I will call on [the] name of Yahweh and he will be the god who he will answer by fire he God and it answered all the people and they said [is] good the word.
25 Entonces Elías dijo a los profetas de Baal: Escojéos el un buey, y hacéd primero: porque vosotros sois los más: e invocád en el nombre de vuestros dioses: mas no pongáis fuego debajo.
And he said Elijah to [the] prophets of Baal choose for yourselves the young bull one and prepare [it] first for you [are] the many and call on [the] name of god your and fire not you will set.
26 Y ellos tomaron el buey que les fue dado, y aparejáronle, e invocaron en el nombre de Baal desde la mañana hasta el mediodía, diciendo: Baal respóndenos. Mas no había voz, ni quien respondiese: entre tanto ellos andaban saltando cerca del altar que habían hecho.
And they took the young bull which someone gave to them and they prepared [it] and they called on [the] name of Baal from the morning and until the noontide saying O Baal answer us and there not [was] a sound and there not [was one who] answered and they limped around at the altar which he had made.
27 Y aconteció al mediodía, que Elías se burlaba de ellos, diciendo: Gritád a alta voz; que dios es, quizá tiene negocio, o va en seguimiento, o va algún camino, o duerme, y despertará.
And it was at the noontide and he mocked them Elijah and he said call out with a voice great for [is] a god he for musing and for a going away [belongs] to him and for a journey [belongs] to him perhaps [is] sleeping he so he may awake.
28 Y ellos clamaban a grandes voces, y sajábanse con cuchillos y con lancetas conforme a su costumbre, hasta derramar sangre sobre sí:
And they called out with a voice great and they cut themselves according to custom their with swords and with lances until poured out blood over them.
29 Y como pasó el mediodía, y ellos aun profetizasen hasta el tiempo del sacrificio del presente, y no había voz, ni quien respondiese, ni escuchase;
And it was when passed the noontide and they prophesied until goes up the offering and there not [was] a sound and there not [was one who] answered and there not [was] attention.
30 Entonces Elías dijo a todo el pueblo: Acercáos a mí. Y todo el pueblo se llegó a él, y él reparó el altar de Jehová que estaba a ruinado.
And he said Elijah to all the people draw near to me and they drew near all the people to him and he repaired [the] altar of Yahweh that was torn down.
31 Y tomando Elías doce piedras, conforme al número de las tribus de los hijos de Jacob, al cual había sido palabra de Jehová, diciendo: Israel será tu nombre;
And he took Elijah two [plus] ten stones according to [the] number of [the] tribes of [the] sons of Jacob whom it had come [the] word of Yahweh to him saying Israel it will be name your.
32 Edificó con las piedras un altar en el nombre de Jehová: después hizo una regadera al rededor del altar, cuanto cupieran dos satos de simiente.
And he built the stones an altar in [the] name of Yahweh and he made a trench like a receptacle of two seahs seed around the altar.
33 Después compuso la leña, y cortó el buey en piezas, y púsole sobre la leña.
And he arranged the wood and he cut it in pieces the young bull and he put [it] on the wood. And he said fill four jars water and pour [it] on the burnt offering and on the wood
34 Y dijo: Henchíd cuatro cántaros de agua, y derramádla sobre el holocausto, y sobre la leña. Y dijo: Hacédlo otra vez, e hiciéronlo otra vez: Y dijo: Hacédlo la tercera vez. E hiciéronlo la tercera vez,
and he said do again and they did again and he said do a third time and they did a third time.
35 De tal manera que las aguas corrían al rededor del altar, y había también henchido la reguera de agua.
And they went the waters around the altar and also the trench he filled water.
36 Y como llegó la hora de ofrecerse el holocausto, llegóse el profeta Elías, y dijo: Jehová Dios de Abraham, de Isaac, y de Israel, sea hoy manifiesto, que tú eres Dios en Israel, y que yo soy tú siervo, y que por mandamiento tuyo he hecho todas estas cosas.
And it was - when went up the offering and he drew near Elijah the prophet and he said O Yahweh [the] God of Abraham Isaac and Israel this day let it be known that you [are] God in Israel and I [am] servant your (and at word your *Q(K)*) I have done all the things these.
37 Respóndeme Jehová, respóndeme, para que conozca este pueblo, que tú, oh Jehová, eres el Dios, y que tú volviste atrás el corazón de ellos.
Answer me O Yahweh answer me so they may know the people this that you O Yahweh [are] God and you you have turned around heart their backwards.
38 Entonces cayó fuego de Jehová, el cual consumió el holocausto, y la leña, y las piedras, y el polvo, y aun las aguas que estaban en la reguera lamió.
And it fell [the] fire of Yahweh and it consumed the burnt offering and the wood and the stones and the dust and the water which [was] in the trench it licked up.
39 Y viéndolo todo el pueblo, cayeron sobre sus rostros, y dijeron: Jehová es el Dios, Jehová es el Dios.
And it saw all the people and they fell on faces their and they said Yahweh he [is] God Yahweh he [is] God.
40 Y díjoles Elías: Prendéd a los profetas de Baal, que no escape ninguno. Y ellos los prendieron: y llevólos Elías al arroyo de Cisón, y allí los degolló.
And he said Elijah to them seize - [the] prophets of Baal anyone may not he escape of them and they seized them and he brought down them Elijah to [the] wadi of Kishon and he slaughtered them there.
41 Entonces Elías dijo a Acab: Sube, come, y bebe, porque una grande lluvia suena.
And he said Elijah to Ahab go up eat and drink for [the] sound of [the] noise of rain.
42 Y Acab subió a comer y a beber, y Elías subió a la cumbre del Carmelo, y postrándose a tierra puso su rostro entre las rodillas,
And he went up Ahab to eat and to drink and Elijah he went up to [the] top of Carmel and he crouched [the] ground towards and he put face his between (knees his. *Q(K)*)
43 Y dijo a su criado: Sube ahora, y mira hacia la mar. Y él subió, y miró, y dijo: No hay nada. Y él le volvió a decir: Vuelve siete veces.
And he said to servant his go up please look [the] direction of [the] sea and he went up and he looked and he said there not [is] anything and he said go back seven times.
44 Y a la séptima vez dijo: He aquí una pequeña nube, como la palma de la mano de un hombre, que sube de la mar. Y él dijo: Vé, y di a Acab: Unce el carro, y desciende, porque la lluvia no te ataje.
And it was at the seventh [time] and he said there! a cloud small like [the] hand of a person [is] coming up from [the] sea and he said go up say to Ahab harness and go down and not it will hold back you the rain.
45 Y aconteció estando en esto, que los cielos se oscurecieron con nubes, y viento, e hizo una gran lluvia. Y subiendo Acab vino a Jezrael.
And it was - until thus and until thus and the heavens they grew dark clouds and wind and it was rain great and he rode Ahab and he went Jezreel towards.
46 Y la mano de Jehová fue sobre Elías, el cual ciñó sus lomos, y vino corriendo delante de Acab hasta llegar a Jezrael.
And [the] hand of Yahweh it was to Elijah and he girded up loins his and he ran before Ahab until coming you Jezreel towards.
