1 Reyes 15

1 En el año diez y ocho del rey Jeroboam, hijo de Nabat, Abiam comenzó a reinar sobre Judá.

Then, in the eighteenth year of the reign of Jeroboam, the son of Nebat, Abijam reigned over Judah.

2 Reinó tres años en Jerusalem. El nombre de su madre fue Maaca, hija de Abesalón.

He reigned for three years in Jerusalem. The name of his mother was Maacah, the daughter of Abishalom.

3 Y anduvo en todos los pecados de su padre, que hizo antes de él, y no fue su corazón perfecto con Jehová su Dios, como el corazón de David su padre.

And he walked in all the sins of his father, which he had done before him. Neither was his heart perfect with the Lord his God, as was the heart of David, his father.

4 Mas por causa de David, Jehová su Dios le dio lámpara en Jerusalem, despertándole su hijo después de él, y confirmando a Jerusalem:

But for the sake of David, the Lord his God gave to him a lamp in Jerusalem, so that he might raise up his son after him, and so that he might establish Jerusalem.

5 Por cuanto David había hecho lo que era recto delante de los ojos de Jehová, y de ninguna cosa que le mandase se había apartado en todos los días de su vida, sino fue el negocio de Urías Jetteo.

For David had done what was right in the eyes of the Lord, and he had not declined from all of the things that he had instructed to him, during all the days of his life, except the matter of Uriah, the Hittite.

6 Y hubo guerra entre Roboam y Jeroboam todos los días de su vida.

Now there was war between Rehoboam and Jeroboam during the entire time of his life.

7 Lo demás de los hechos de Abiam, y todas las cosas que hizo, ¿no están escritas en el libro de las crónicas de los reyes de Judá? Y hubo guerra entre Abiam y Jeroboam.

And the rest of the words of Abijam, and all that he did, were these not written in the book of the words of the days of the kings of Judah? And there was fighting between Abijam and Jeroboam.

8 Y durmió Abiam con sus padres, y sepultáronle en la ciudad de David: y reinó Asa su hijo en su lugar.

And Abijam slept with his fathers, and they buried him in the city of David. And Asa, his son, reigned in his place.

9 En el año veinte de Jeroboam rey de Israel, Asa comenzó a reinar sobre Judá.

Then, in the twentieth year of Jeroboam, the king of Israel, Asa reigned as king of Judah.

10 Y reinó cuarenta y un años en Jerusalem: el nombre de su madre fue Maaca, hija de Abesalón.

And he reigned for forty-one years in Jerusalem. The name of his mother was Maacah, the daughter of Abishalom.

11 Y Asa hizo lo que era recto delante de los ojos de Jehová, como David su padre;

And Asa did what was right before the sight of the Lord, just as his father David did.

12 Porque quitó los sodomitas de la tierra, y quitó todas las suciedades que sus padres habían hecho.

And he took away the effeminate from the land. And he purged all the filth of the idols, which his fathers had made.

13 Y también privó a su madre Maaca de ser princesa, porque había hecho un ídolo en un bosque. Y Asa deshizo el ídolo de su madre, y le quemó junto al arroyo de Cedrón.

Moreover, he also removed his mother, Maacah, from being the leader in the sacrifices of Priapus, and in his sacred grove which she had consecrated. And he destroyed his grotto. And he shattered the very indecent idol, and he burned it at the torrent Kidron.

14 Mas los altos no se quitaron: empero el corazón de Asa fue perfecto con Jehová toda su vida.

But the high places, he did not take away. Yet truly, the heart of Asa was perfect with the Lord during all his days.

15 También metió en la casa de Jehová lo que su padre había dedicado, y lo que él dedicó, oro, y plata, y vasos.

And he brought the things that his father had sanctified and vowed back to the house of the Lord: the silver, and the gold, and the vessels.

16 Y hubo guerra entre Asa y Baasa rey de Israel, todo el tiempo de ambos.

Now there was war between Asa and Baasha, the king of Israel, during all their days.

17 Y subió Baasa rey de Israel contra Judá, y edificó a Rama, para no dejar salir ni entrar a ninguno de Asa rey de Judá.

And Baasha, the king of Israel, ascended against Judah. And he built up Ramah, so that no one would be able to exit or enter from the side of Asa, the king of Judah.

18 Y tomando Asa toda la plata y oro que había quedado en los tesoros de la casa de Jehová, y en los tesoros de la casa real, los entregó en las manos de sus siervos, y enviólos el rey Asa a Ben-adad, hijo de Tabrimón, hijo de Hezión, rey de Siria, el cual residia en Damasco, diciendo:

And so, Asa took all the silver and the gold which had remained in the treasuries of the house of the Lord, and in the treasuries of the house of the king, and he gave it into the hands of his servants. And he sent them to Benhadad, the son of Tabrimmon, the son of Hezion, the king of Syria, who was living in Damascus, saying:

19 Alianza hay entre mí y ti, y entre mi padre y el tuyo: he aquí que yo te envío un presente de plata y oro: vé, y rompe tu alianza con Baasa rey de Israel para que se aparte de mí.

“There is a pact between me and you, and between my father and your father. For this reason, I have sent to you gifts of silver and of gold. And I ask you to go and break your pact with Baasha, the king of Israel, so that he may withdraw from me.”

20 Y Ben-adad consintió con el rey Asa, y envió los príncipes de los ejércitos que tenía contra las ciudades de Israel: e hirió a Ahión, y a Dan, y a Abel Bet-maaca, y a toda Cenerot, con toda la tierra de Neftalí.

Benhadad, acquiescing to king Asa, sent the leaders of his army against the cities of Israel. And they struck Ijon, and Dan, and Abel, the house of Maacah, and all of Chinneroth, that is, all the land of Naphtali.

21 Y oyendo esto Baasa, dejó de edificar a Rama, y estúvose en Tersa.

And when Baasha had heard this, he ceased from fortifying Ramah, and he returned to Tirzah.

22 Entonces el rey Asa juntó a todo Judá, sin quedar ninguno, y quitaron la piedra y la madera de Rama, con que Baasa edificaba, y edificó con ello el rey Asa a Gabaa de Ben-jamín, y a Maspa.

Then king Asa sent an announcement to all of Judah, saying, “Let no one be excused.” And they took away the stones from Ramah, and its timber, with which Baasha had fortified it. And from these things, king Asa built up Geba of Benjamin and Mizpah.

23 Lo demás de todos los hechos de Asa, y toda su fortaleza, y todas las cosas que hizo, y las ciudades que edificó, ¿no está todo escrito en el libro de las crónicas de los reyes de Judá? Con todo eso, en el tiempo de su vejez, enfermó de sus pies.

Now all the rest of the words of Asa, and his entire strength, and all that he did, and the cities that he built, were these not written in the book of the words of the days of the kings of Judah? Yet truly, in the time of his old age, he was afflicted in his feet.

24 Y durmió Asa con sus padres, y fue sepultado con sus padres en la ciudad de David su padre: y reinó en su lugar Josafat su hijo.

And he slept with his fathers, and he was buried with them in the city of David, his father. And Jehoshaphat, his son, reigned in his place.

25 Y Nadab, hijo de Jeroboam, comenzó a reinar sobre Israel en el segundo año de Asa rey de Judá; y reinó sobre Israel dos años.

Yet truly, Nadab, the son of Jeroboam, reigned over Israel, in the second year of Asa, the king of Judah. And he reigned over Israel for two years.

26 E hizo lo malo delante de los ojos de Jehová, andando en el camino de su padre, y en sus pecados con que hizo pecar a Israel.

And he did what is evil in the sight of the Lord. And he walked in the ways of his father and in his sins, by which he caused Israel to sin.

27 Y Baasa, hijo de Ahías, el cual era de la casa de Isacar, hizo conspiración contra él, y le hirió Baasa en Gebbetón, que era de los Filisteos; porque Nadab, y todo Israel tenían cercado a Gebbetón.

Then Baasha, the son of Ahijah, from the house of Issachar, set an ambush against him, and he struck him down at Gibbethon, which is a city of the Philistines. For indeed, Nadab and all of Israel were laying siege to Gibbethon.

28 Y le mató Baasa en el tercero año de Asa rey de Judá, y reinó en su lugar.

And so Baasha killed him in the third year of Asa, the king of Judah, and he reigned in his place.

29 Y como él vino al reino, hirió toda la casa de Jeroboam; sin dejar alma de los de Jeroboam hasta raerle, conforme a la palabra de Jehová, que él habló por su siervo Ahías, Silonita,

And when he had reigned, he struck down the entire house of Jeroboam. He did not leave behind even one soul from his offspring, until he had wiped him away, in accord with the word of the Lord, which he had spoken by the hand of Ahijah, the Shilonite,

30 Por los pecados de Jeroboam que él hizo, y con los cuales hizo pecar a Israel; y por su provocación con que provocó a enojo a Jehová Dios de Israel.

because of the sin of Jeroboam, which he had committed, and by which he had caused Israel to sin, and because of the offense by which he had provoked the Lord, the God of Israel.

31 Lo demás de los hechos de Nadab, y todas las cosas que hizo, ¿no está todo escrito en el libro de las crónicas de los reyes de Israel?

But the rest of the words of Nadab, and all that he did, were these not written in the book of the words of the days of the kings of Israel?

32 Y hubo guerra entre Asa y Baasa rey de Israel todo el tiempo de ambos.

And there was war between Asa and Baasha, the king of Israel, during all their days.

33 En el tercero año de Asa rey de Judá, comenzó a reinar Baasa, hijo de Ahías, sobre todo Israel en Tersa, y reinó veinte y cuatro años.

In the third year of Asa, the king of Judah, Baasha, the son of Ahijah, reigned over all of Israel, at Tirzah, for twenty-four years.

34 E hizo lo malo delante de los ojos de Jehová, y anduvo en el camino de Jeroboam, y en su pecado con que hizo pecar a Israel.

And he did evil in the sight of the Lord. And he walked in the ways of Jeroboam, and in his sins, by which he caused Israel to sin.
