1 Reyes 13
1 Y he aquí que un varón de Dios, por palabra de Jehová, vino de Judá a Bet-el: y estando Jeroboam al altar para quemar perfumes.
And behold, there came a man of God out of Juda by the word of the Lord to Baethel, and Jeroboam stood at the altar to sacrifice.
2 El clamó contra el altar por palabra de Jehová, y dijo: Altar, altar, así dijo Jehová: He aquí que a la casa de David nacerá un hijo, llamado Josías, el cual sacrificará sobre ti a los sacerdotes de los altos que queman sobre ti perfumes; y sobre ti quemarán huesos de hombres.
And he cried against the altar by the word of the Lord, and said, O altar, altar, thus says the Lord, Behold, a son is [to be] born to the house of David, Josias by name; and he shall offer upon you the priests of the high places, [even] of them that sacrifice upon you, and [he] shall burn men's bones upon you.
3 Y aquel mismo día dio una señal diciendo: Esta es la señal que Jehová ha hablado: he aquí que el altar se quebrará, y la ceniza que sobre él está se derramará.
And in that day one shall give a sign, saying, This [is] the word which the Lord has spoken, saying, Behold, the altar is tore, and the fatness upon it shall be poured out.
4 Y como el rey oyó la palabra del varón de Dios, que había clamado contra el altar en Bet-el, extendiendo su mano desde el altar, Jeroboam dijo: Prendédle: mas la mano, que había extendido contra él, se le secó, que no la pudo tornar a sí.
And it came to pass when king Jeroboam heard the words of the man of God who called on the altar that was in Baethel, that the king stretched forth his hand from the altar, saying, Take hold of him. And, behold, his hand, which he stretched forth against him, withered, and he could not draw it back to himself.
5 Y el altar se rompió, y la ceniza se derramó del altar, conforme a la señal que el varón de Dios había dado por palabra de Jehová.
And the altar was tore, and the fatness was poured out from the altar, according to the sign which the man of God gave by the word of the Lord.
6 Entonces respondiendo el rey, y dijo al varón de Dios: Yo te ruego que ruegues a la faz de Jehová tu Dios, y ora por mí, que mi mano me sea restituida. Y el varón de Dios oró a la faz de Jehová, y la mano del rey se volvió a él, y se tornó como antes.
And king Jeroboam said to the man of God, Intreat the Lord your God, and let my hand be restored to me. And the man of God entreated the Lord, and he restored the king's hand to him, and it became as before.
7 Y el rey dijo al varón de Dios: Ven conmigo a casa, y comerás, y yo te daré don.
And the king said to the man of God, Enter with me into the house, and dine, and I will give you a gift.
8 Mas el varón de Dios dijo al rey: Si me dieses la mitad de tu casa, no iría contigo, ni comería pan, ni bebería agua en este lugar:
And the man of God said to the king, If you should give me the half of your house, I would not go in with you, neither will I eat bread, neither will I drink water in this place; for thus the Lord charged me by [his] word, saying,
9 Porque así me es mandado por palabra de Jehová, diciendo: No comas pan, ni bebas agua, ni vuelvas por el camino que fueres.
Eat no bread, and drink no water, and return not by the way by which you came.
10 Y así se vino por otro camino, y no volvió por el camino por donde había venido a Bet-el.
So he departed by another way, and returned not by the way by which he came to Baethel.
11 Y moraba en Bet-el un viejo profeta, al cual vino su hijo, y contóle todo el hecho que el varón de Dios había hecho aquel día en Bet-el: y contaron a su padre las palabras que había hablado al rey.
And there lived an old prophet in Baethel; and his sons came and told him all the works that the man of God did on that day in Baethel, and the words which he spoke to the king: and they turned the face of their father.
12 Y su padre les dijo: ¿Por qué camino fue? Y sus hijos le mostraron el camino por donde se había tornado el varón de Dios, que había venido de Judá.
And their father spoke to them, saying, Which way went he? and his sons show him the way by which the man of God who came out of Juda went up.
13 Y él dijo a sus hijos: Enalbardádme el asno. Y ellos le enalbardaron el asno, y subió en él.
And he said to his sons, Saddle me the ass: and they saddled him the ass, and he mounted it,
14 Y yendo tras el varón de Dios, hallóle que estaba sentado debajo de un alcornoque: y díjole: ¿Eres tú el varón de Dios, que veniste de Judá? Y él dijo: Yo soy.
and went after the man of God, and found him sitting under an oak: and he said to him, Are you the man of God that came out of Juda? And he said to him, I [am].
15 Y él le dijo: Ven conmigo a casa, y come del pan.
And he said to him, Come with me, and eat bread.
16 Y él respondió: No podré volver contigo, ni iré contigo: ni tampoco comeré pan, ni beberé agua contigo en este lugar;
And he said, I shall not by any means be able to return with you, neither will I eat bread, neither will I drink water in this place.
17 Porque por palabra de Dios me ha sido dicho: No comas pan, ni bebas agua allá: ni vuelvas por el camino que fueres.
For thus the Lord commanded me by word, saying, Eat not bread there, and drink not water, and return not there by the way by which you came.
18 Y el otro le dijo: Yo también soy profeta como tú; y un ángel me ha hablado por palabra de Jehová, diciendo: Vuélvele contigo a tu casa, para que coma pan, y bebe agua. Mintióle.
And he said to him, I also am a prophet as you [are]; and an angel spoke to me by the word of the Lord, saying, Bring him back to you into your house, and let him eat bread and drink water: but he lied to him.
19 Entonces volvió con él; y comió del pan en su casa, y bebió del agua.
And he brought him back, and he ate bread and drank water in his house.
20 Y aconteció que estando ellos a la mesa, fue palabra de Jehová al profeta que le había hecho volver:
And it came to pass while they were sitting at the table, that the word of the Lord came to the prophet that brought him back;
21 Y clamó al varón de Dios, que había venido de Judá, diciendo: Así dijo Jehová: Por cuanto has sido rebelde al dicho de Jehová, y no guardaste el mandamiento que Jehová tu Dios te había mandado,
and he spoke to the man of God that came out of Juda, saying, Thus says the Lord, Because you have resisted the word of the Lord, and have not kept the commandment which the Lord your God commanded you,
22 Antes volviste, y comiste del pan, y bebiste del agua en el lugar donde Jehová te había dicho, que ni comieses pan, ni bebieses agua, no entrará tu cuerpo en el sepulcro de tus padres.
but have returned, and eaten bread and drunk water in the place of which he spoke to you, saying, You shall not eat bread, and shall not drink water; [therefore] your body shall in nowise enter into the sepulchre of your fathers.
23 Y como hubo comido del pan, y bebido, el profeta que le había hecho volver le enalbardó un asno:
And it came to pass after he had eaten bread and drunk water, that he saddled the ass for him, and he turned and departed.
24 Y yéndose, topóle un león en el camino, y le mató; y su cuerpo estaba echado en el camino, y el asno estaba junto a él, y el león también estaba junto al cuerpo.
And a lion found him in the way, and killed him; and his body was cast out in the way, and the ass was standing by it, and the lion [also] was standing by the body.
25 Y, he aquí, unos que pasaban, y vieron el cuerpo que estaba echado en el camino, y el león que estaba junto al cuerpo; y vinieron, y lo dijeron en la ciudad donde el viejo profeta habitaba.
And, behold, men [were] passing by, and saw the carcase cast in the way, and the lion was standing near the carcase: and they went in and spoke [of it] in the city where the old prophet lived.
26 Y oyéndolo el profeta que le había vuelto del camino, dijo: Varón de Dios es, que fue rebelde al dicho de Jehová: por tanto Jehová le ha entregado al león, que le ha quebrantado y muerto, conforme a la palabra de Jehová, que él le dijo.
And [the prophet] that turned him back out of the way heard, and said, This is the man of God who rebelled against the word of the Lord.
27 Y habló a sus hijos, y díjoles: Enalbardádme un asno. Y ellos se le enalbardaron.
[And he spoke to his sons, saying, Saddle me the ass, and they saddled it. ]
28 Y él fue, y halló su cuerpo tendido en el camino, y el asno y el león estaban junto al cuerpo: el león no había comido el cuerpo, ni dañado al asno.
And he went and found the body cast in the way, and the ass and the lion were standing by the body: and the lion had not devoured the body of the man of God, and had not torn the ass.
29 Y tomando el profeta el cuerpo del varón de Dios, púsole sobre el asno, y tornóle. Y el profeta viejo vino a la ciudad, para endecharle y enterrarle.
And the prophet took up the body of the man of God, and laid it on his ass; and the prophet brought him back to his city, to bury him in his own tomb,
30 Y puso su cuerpo en su sepulcro: y endecháronle, diciendo: ¡Ay, hermano mío!
and they bewailed him, [saying], Alas, brother.
31 Y después que le hubieron enterrado habló a sus hijos, diciendo: Cuando yo muriere, enterrádme en el sepulcro en que está sepultado el varón de Dios: ponéd mis huesos junto a los suyos;
And it came to pass after he had lamented him, that he spoke to his sons, saying, Whenever I die, bury me in this tomb wherein the man of God is buried; lay me by his bones, that my bones may be preserved with his bones.
32 Porque sin duda vendrá lo que él dijo a voces por palabra de Jehová contra el altar que está en Bet-el, y contra todas las casas de los altos, que están en las ciudades de Samaria.
For the word will surely come to pass which he spoke by the word of the Lord against the altar in Baethel, and against the high houses in Samaria.
33 Después de esta palabra no se tornó Jeroboam de su camino malo; antes volvió, e hizo sacerdotes de los altos parte del pueblo, y quien quería se consagraba, y era de los sacerdotes de los altos.
And after this Jeroboam turned not from his sin, but he turned and made of part of the people priests of the [high places]: whoever would, he consecrated him, and he became a priest for the high places.
34 Y esto fue causa de pecado a la casa de Jeroboam, por lo cual fue cortada y raída de sobre la haz de la tierra.
And this thing became sin to the house of Jeroboam, even to its destruction and its removal from the face of the earth.
