1 Reyes 1
1 Como el rey David se hizo viejo, y entrado en días, cubríanle de vestidos, mas no se calentaba.
And king David was old [and] advanced in age; and they covered him with clothes, but he obtained no warmth.
2 Y dijéronle sus siervos: Busquen a mi señor el rey una moza virgen, que esté delante del rey, y le caliente, y duerma en su seno, y calentará a mi señor el rey.
And his servants said to him, Let there be found for my lord the king a young virgin; and let her stand before the king, and let her cherish him, and let her lie in thy bosom, that my lord the king may get warm.
3 Y buscaron una moza hermosa por todo el término de Israel, y hallaron a Abisag Sunamita, y trajéronla al rey.
And they sought for a fair damsel throughout the territory of Israel, and found Abishag a Shunammite, and brought her to the king.
4 Y la moza era muy hermosa, la cual calentaba al rey, y le servía; mas el rey nunca la conoció.
And the damsel was very fair; and cherished the king, and ministered to him; but the king knew her not.
5 Entonces Adonías, hijo de Hagit, se levantó, diciendo: Yo reinaré. E hízose hacer carros y gente de a caballo, y cincuenta varones que corriesen delante de él.
And Adonijah the son of Haggith exalted himself, saying, I will be king; and he provided himself chariots and horsemen, and fifty men to run before him.
6 Y su padre nunca le entristeció en todos sus días para decirle: ¿Por qué haces así? Y también este era de hermoso parecer: y habíale engendrado después de Absalom.
And his father had not grieved him at any time in saying, Why doest thou so? and he was also a very comely man; and [his mother] bore him after Absalom.
7 Y tenía tratos con Joab, hijo de Sarvia, y con Abiatar el sacerdote, los cuales ayudaban a Adonías.
And he conferred with Joab the son of Zeruiah, and with Abiathar the priest; and they helped Adonijah and followed [him].
8 Mas Sadoc el sacerdote, y Banaías, hijo de Joiada, y Natán profeta, y Semeí, y Reihi, y todos los grandes de David no seguían a Adonías.
But Zadok the priest, and Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, and Nathan the prophet, and Shimei, and Rei, and the mighty men whom David had, were not with Adonijah.
9 Y sacrificó Adonías ovejas y vacas, y animales engordados, junto a la peña de Zohelet, que está cerca de la fuente de Rogel, y convidó a todos sus hermanos los hijos del rey, y a todos los varones de Judá, siervos del rey.
And Adonijah sacrificed sheep and oxen and fatted cattle by the stone of Zoheleth, which is by En-rogel, and invited all his brethren, the king's sons, and all the men of Judah, the king's servants;
10 Mas a Natán profeta, ni a Banaías, ni a los grandes, ni a Salomón su hermano, no convidó.
but Nathan the prophet, and Benaiah, and the mighty men, and Solomon his brother, he did not invite.
11 Y habló Natán a Bersabée madre de Salomón, diciendo: ¿No has oído que reina Adonías hijo de Hagit, sin saberlo nuestro señor David?
And Nathan spoke to Bathsheba the mother of Solomon, saying, Hast thou not heard that Adonijah the son of Haggith is king, and David our lord does not know [it]?
12 Ven pues ahora, y toma mi consejo, para que guardes tu vida, y la vida de tu hijo Salomón.
And now, come, let me, I pray thee, give thee counsel, that thou mayest save thine own life, and the life of thy son Solomon.
13 Vé, y entra al rey David, y díle: ¿Rey, señor mío, no has tú jurado a tu sierva, diciendo: Salomón tu hijo reinará después de mí, y él se asentará sobre mi trono? ¿Por qué pues reina Adonías?
Go and get thee in to king David, and say to him, Didst not thou, my lord, O king, swear to thy handmaid saying, Solomon thy son shall reign after me, and he shall sit on my throne? why then does Adonijah reign?
14 Y estando tú aun hablando con el rey, yo entraré tras ti, y acabaré tus razones.
Behold, while thou yet talkest there with the king, I also will come in after thee and confirm thy words.
15 Entonces Bersabée entró al rey a la cámara, y el rey era muy viejo; y Abisag Sunamita servía al rey.
And Bathsheba went in to the king into the chamber; and the king was very old; and Abishag the Shunammite ministered to the king.
16 Y Bersabée se inclinó, e hizo reverencia al rey, y el rey dijo:
And Bathsheba bowed and did obeisance to the king. And the king said, What wouldest thou?
17 ¿Qué tienes? Y ella le respondió: Señor mío, tú juraste a tu sierva por Jehová tu Dios, diciendo: Salomón tu hijo reinará después de mí, y él se asentará sobre mi trono.
And she said to him, My lord, thou hast sworn by Jehovah thy God to thy handmaid, [saying, ] Solomon thy son shall reign after me, and he shall sit on my throne.
18 Y, he aquí que ahora Adonías reina; y ahora tú, rey mi señor, no lo supiste.
And now behold, Adonijah is king; and now, my lord the king, thou knowest it not.
19 Ha sacrificado bueyes, y animales engordados, y muchas ovejas; y ha convidado a todos los hijos del rey, y a Abiatar el sacerdote, y a Joab general del ejército; mas a Salomón tu siervo no ha convidado.
And he has sacrificed oxen and fatted cattle and sheep in abundance, and has invited all the sons of the king and Abiathar the priest and Joab the captain of the host; but Solomon thy servant has he not invited.
20 Rey, señor mío, los ojos de todo Israel están sobre ti, para que les declares, quién se ha de asentar sobre el trono de mi señor el rey, después de él.
And thou, my lord the king, the eyes of all Israel are upon thee, that thou shouldest tell them who shall sit on the throne of my lord the king after him.
21 Y acontecerá que cuando mi señor el rey durmiere con sus padres, que yo y mi hijo Salomón seremos tratados como pecadores.
Otherwise it shall come to pass when my lord the king shall sleep with his fathers, that I and my son Solomon will be counted offenders.
22 Y estando aun hablando ella con el rey, he aquí Natán profeta que vino.
And behold, while she yet talked with the king, Nathan the prophet also came in.
23 E hicieron saber al rey, diciendo: He aquí está Natán profeta: el cual como entró al rey postróse delante del rey, inclinando su rostro a tierra.
And they told the king saying, Behold, Nathan the prophet. And when he was come in before the king, he bowed himself before the king with his face to the ground.
24 Y dijo Natán: Rey señor mío, ¿has tú dicho: Adonías reinará después de mí, y él se asentará sobre mi trono?
And Nathan said, My lord, O king, hast thou said, Adonijah shall reign after me, and he shall sit on my throne?
25 Porque hoy ha descendido, y ha sacrificado bueyes, y animales engordados, y muchas ovejas; y ha convidado a todos los hijos del rey, y a los capitanes del ejército, y también a Abiatar sacerdote, y, he aquí, están comiendo y bebiendo delante de él, y han dicho: Viva el rey Adonías.
For he is gone down this day, and has sacrificed oxen and fatted cattle and sheep in abundance, and has invited all the king's sons, and the captains of the host, and Abiathar the priest; and behold, they eat and drink before him, and say, God save king Adonijah!
26 Mas ni a mí tu siervo, ni a Sadoc el sacerdote, ni a Banaías, hijo de Joiada, ni a Salomón tu siervo ha convidado.
But me, [even] me thy servant, and Zadok the priest, and Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, and thy servant Solomon, he has not invited.
27 ¿Este negocio es mandado por mi señor el rey, sin haber declarado a tu siervo quién se había de sentar sobre el trono de mi señor el rey después de él?
Is this thing done by my lord the king, and thou hast not shewn to thy servants who should sit on the throne of my lord the king after him?
28 Entonces el rey David respondió, y dijo: Llamádme a Bersabée: y ella entró delante del rey, y púsose delante del rey.
Then king David answered and said, Call me Bathsheba. And she came into the king's presence, and stood before the king.
29 Y el rey juró, diciendo: Vive Jehová, que ha redimido mi alma de toda angustia,
And the king swore, and said, [As] Jehovah liveth, who has redeemed my soul out of all distress,
30 Que como yo te he jurado por Jehová Dios de Israel, diciendo: Tu hijo Salomón reinará después de mí, y él se asentará en mi trono en mi lugar, que así lo haré hoy.
even as I swore to thee by Jehovah the God of Israel, saying, Solomon thy son shall reign after me, and he shall sit on my throne in my stead; even so will I certainly do this day.
31 Entonces Bersabée se inclinó al rey su rostro a tierra, e inclinándose al rey dijo: Viva mi señor el rey David para siempre.
And Bathsheba bowed with her face to the earth, and did reverence to the king, and said, Let my lord king David live for ever.
32 Y el rey David dijo: Llamádme a Sadoc sacerdote, y a Natán profeta, y a Banaías, hijo de Joiada. Y ellos entraron delante del rey.
And king David said, Call me Zadok the priest, and Nathan the prophet, and Benaiah the son of Jehoiada. And they came before the king.
33 Y el rey les dijo: Tomád con vosotros los siervos de vuestro señor, y hacéd subir a Salomón mi hijo en mi mula, y llevádle a Gijón.
And the king said to them, Take with you the servants of your lord, and cause Solomon my son to ride upon mine own mule, and bring him down to Gihon;
34 Y allí le ungirán Sadoc sacerdote y Natán profeta por rey sobre Israel: y tocaréis trompeta, diciendo: Viva el rey Salomón.
and let Zadok the priest and Nathan the prophet anoint him there king over Israel; and blow ye with the trumpet, and say, Long live king Solomon!
35 Y vosotros iréis detrás de él; y vendrá, y asentarse ha en mi trono, y él reinará por mí: porque a él he mandado, que sea príncipe sobre Israel y sobre Judá.
And ye shall come up after him, that he may come and sit on my throne; for he shall reign in my stead, and I have appointed him to be ruler over Israel and over Judah.
36 Entonces Banaías, hijo de Joiada, respondió al rey, y dijo: Amén. Así lo diga Jehová, Dios de mi señor el rey.
And Benaiah the son of Jehoiada answered the king and said, Amen: Jehovah, the God of my lord the king, say so too.
37 De la manera que Jehová ha sido con mi señor el rey, así sea con Salomón: y él haga mayor su trono, que el trono de mi señor el rey David.
As Jehovah has been with my lord the king, even so be he with Solomon, and make his throne greater than the throne of my lord king David.
38 Y descendió Sadoc sacerdote, y Natán profeta, y Banaías, hijo de Joiada, y los Cereteos, y los Feleteos, e hicieron subir a Salomón sobre la mula del rey David, y lleváronle a Gijón.
And Zadok the priest, and Nathan the prophet, and Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, and the Cherethites and the Pelethites went down, and caused Solomon to ride upon king David's mule, and brought him to Gihon.
39 Y tomando Sadoc sacerdote el cuerno del aceite del tabernáculo, ungió a Salomón: y tocaron trompeta, y dijeron todo el pueblo: Viva el rey Salomón.
And Zadok the priest took the horn of oil out of the tabernacle, and anointed Solomon. And they blew the trumpet; and all the people said, Long live king Solomon!
40 Y todo el pueblo subió en pos de él, y cantaba el pueblo con flautas, y hacían grandes alegrías que parecía que la tierra se abría con el clamor de ellos.
And all the people came up after him, and the people piped with pipes, and rejoiced with great joy, so that the earth rent with the sound of them.
41 Y oyólo Adonías, y todos los convidados que con él estaban, que ya habían acabado de comer, y oyendo Joab el sonido de la trompeta, dijo: ¿Por qué se alborota la ciudad con estruendo?
And Adonijah and all the guests that were with him heard [it] as they were finishing their repast; and Joab heard the sound of the trumpet, and he said, Wherefore this noise of the city in an uproar?
42 Estando aun él hablando, he aquí Jonatán, hijo de Abiatar sacerdote, vino, al cual dijo Adonías: Entra, porque tú hombre eres de esfuerzo, y traerás buenas nuevas.
While he yet spoke, behold, Jonathan the son of Abiathar the priest came; and Adonijah said [to him], Come in; for thou art a valiant man, and bringest good news.
43 Y Jonatán respondió, y dijo a Adonías: Ciertamente nuestro señor el rey David ha hecho rey a Salomón.
And Jonathan answered and said to Adonijah, Indeed, our lord king David has made Solomon king.
44 Y el rey ha enviado con él a Sadoc sacerdote, y a Natán profeta, y a Banaías, hijo de Joiada, y también a los Cereteos, y a los Feleteos, los cuales le hicieron subir en la mula del rey:
And the king has sent with him Zadok the priest, and Nathan the prophet, and Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, and the Cherethites and the Pelethites, and they have caused him to ride upon the king's mule;
45 Y Sadoc sacerdote y Natán profeta le han ungido en Gijón, por rey: y de allá han subido con alegrías, y la ciudad esta llena de estruendo; y este es el alboroto que habéis oído.
and Zadok the priest and Nathan the prophet have anointed him king at Gihon; and they are come up from thence rejoicing, so that the city is in an uproar. This is the noise which ye have heard.
46 Y también Salomón se ha asentado sobre el trono del reino.
And also Solomon is sitting on the throne of the kingdom.
47 Y aun los siervos del rey han venido a bendecir a nuestro señor el rey David, diciendo: Dios haga bueno el nombre de Salomón más que tu nombre: y haga mayor su trono que el tuyo. Y el rey se inclinó sobre la cama.
And moreover the king's servants came to bless our lord king David, saying, Thy God make the name of Solomon more excellent than thy name, and make his throne greater than thy throne! And the king bowed himself on the bed.
48 Y aun el rey habló así: Bendito sea Jehová Dios de Israel, que ha dado hoy quien se asiente en mi trono viéndolo mis ojos.
And also thus said the king: Blessed be Jehovah, the God of Israel, who has given one to sit on my throne this day, mine eyes even seeing it.
49 Ellos entonces se estremecieron, y levantáronse todos los convidados que estaban con Adonías, y se fue cada uno por su camino.
And all Adonijah's guests were afraid, and rose up and went every man his way.
50 Mas Adonías temiendo de la presencia de Salomón, levantóse, y fuése, y tomó los cuernos del altar.
And Adonijah feared because of Solomon, and arose and went and caught hold of the horns of the altar.
51 Y fue hecho saber a Salomón, diciendo: He aquí que Adonías tiene miedo del rey Salomón: porque ha tomado los cuernos del altar, diciendo: Júreme hoy el rey Salomón, que no matará a cuchillo a su siervo.
And it was told Solomon saying, Behold, Adonijah fears king Solomon; for behold, he has caught hold of the horns of the altar, saying, Let king Solomon swear to me this day that he will not put his servant to death with the sword.
52 Y Salomón dijo: Si él fuere virtuoso, ni uno de sus cabellos caerá en tierra: mas si se hallare mal en él, morirá.
And Solomon said, If he be a worthy man, there shall not one of his hairs fall to the earth; but if wickedness be found in him, he shall die.
53 Y así envió el rey Salomón, y trajéronle del altar: y él vino, e inclinóse al rey Salomón. Y Salomón le dijo: Vete a tu casa.
And king Solomon sent, and they brought him down from the altar. And he came and bowed himself to king Solomon; and Solomon said to him, Go to thy house.
