Romanos 6
1 Entonces ¿qué diremos? ¿Permanezcamos en el pecado para que abunde la gracia?
What should we say then? Should we continue in sin, that grace may abound?
2 ¡Claro que no! Porque los que morimos al pecado, ¿cómo seguiremos aún en él?
Absolutely not. We who died to sin, how could we live in it any longer?
3 ¿No saben [ustedes] que los bautizados en Cristo Jesús fuimos bautizados en su muerte?
Or do you not know that all we who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death?
4 Por medio del bautismo fuimos sepultados con Él para la muerte, a fin de que como Cristo fue resucitado de entre [los] muertos por medio de la majestad del Padre, también nosotros andemos en vida nueva.
We were buried therefore with him through baptism to death, that just like Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, so we also might walk in newness of life.
5 Porque si nos unimos en la semejanza de su muerte, también nos uniremos a la semejanza de su resurrección.
For if we have become united with him in the likeness of his death, we will also be part of his resurrection;
6 Sabemos que nuestro viejo ser fue crucificado con [Él], a fin de que el cuerpo pecaminoso quedara sin fuerza para que no sirvamos más al pecado.
knowing this, that our old self was crucified with him, that the body of sin might be done away with, so that we would no longer be in bondage to sin.
7 Porque el que murió fue liberado del pecado.
For he who has died has been freed from sin.
8 Si morimos con Cristo, creemos que también viviremos con Él.
But if we died with Christ, we believe that we will also live with him;
9 Sabemos que Cristo, Quien fue resucitado de entre [los] muertos, ya no muere. La muerte ya no lo domina.
knowing that Christ, being raised from the dead, dies no more. Death no more has dominion over him.
10 Porque el que murió, murió una vez por todas al pecado, pero el que vive, vive para Dios.
For the death that he died, he died to sin one time; but the life that he lives, he lives to God.
11 Así también ustedes, considérense ciertamente muertos al pecado, pero vivos para Dios en Cristo Jesús.
In the same way, consider yourselves dead to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus.
12 Por tanto, no reine [el] pecado en su cuerpo mortal, para que obedezcan a sus desordenados deleites sensuales.
Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body, that you should obey it in its lusts.
13 Ni tampoco presenten sus miembros como instrumentos de iniquidad para el pecado, sino preséntense ustedes mismos a Dios como vivos entre [los] muertos, y sus miembros a Dios como armas de justicia.
Neither present your members to sin as instruments of unrighteousness, but present yourselves to God, as alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness to God.
14 Porque el pecado no tendrá dominio sobre ustedes, pues no están bajo [la] Ley, sino bajo [la ]gracia.
For sin will not have dominion over you. For you are not under law, but under grace.
15 ¿Entonces, qué diremos? ¿Pecaremos porque no estamos bajo [la ]Ley, sino bajo [la ]gracia? ¡Claro que no!
What then? Should we sin because we are not under law, but under grace? Absolutely not.
16 ¿No saben que son esclavos de aquel a quien se presentan para obedecerle, sea del pecado para muerte o de la obediencia para justicia?
Do you not know that when you present yourselves to someone as obedient slaves, you are slaves of the one whom you obey, whether of sin, which leads to death, or of obedience, which leads to righteousness?
17 Pero gracias a Dios que, aunque eran esclavos del pecado, obedecieron de corazón la doctrina a la cual se entregaron.
But thanks be to God, that, whereas you were slaves of sin, you became obedient from the heart to that form of teaching to which you were entrusted.
18 Como se libraron del pecado, se esclavizaron a la justicia.
Being made free from sin, you became slaves of righteousness.
19 Hablo como humano por causa de la debilidad de su naturaleza humana. Porque así como presentaron sus miembros como esclavos a la impureza [para] la iniquidad, ahora preséntenlos como esclavos a la justicia para santificación.
I speak in human terms because of the weakness of your flesh, for as you presented your members as slaves to uncleanness and to wickedness upon wickedness, even so now present your members as slaves to righteousness for sanctification.
20 Cuando eran esclavos del pecado no tenían obligación con la justicia.
For when you were slaves of sin, you were free in regard to righteousness.
21 ¿Qué fruto tenían de aquellas cosas de las cuales ahora se avergüenzan? Porque el fin de ellas es muerte.
What fruit then did you have at that time in the things of which you are now ashamed? For the end of those things is death.
