Apocalipsis 18
1 Después de estas cosas vi a otro ángel que descendía del cielo, el cual tenía gran autoridad. La tierra fue iluminada con su resplandor.
After these things, I saw another angel coming down out of the sky, having great authority. The earth was illuminated with his glory.
2 Clamó con voz potente: ¡Cayó, cayó la gran Babilonia! Se convirtió en cueva de demonios y guarida de todo espíritu impuro y albergue de toda ave impura y aborrecida.
He shouted with a mighty voice, saying, "Fallen, fallen is Babylon the great, and she has become a habitation of demons, a prison of every unclean spirit, and a prison of every unclean bird, and a prison of every unclean and detestable beast.
3 Porque todas las naciones bebieron del vino del furor de su inmoralidad sexual. Los reyes de la tierra practicaron inmoralidad sexual con ella, y los mercaderes de la tierra enriquecieron con el poder de la inclinación excesiva de ella a los placeres.
For all the nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her sexual immorality, the kings of the earth committed sexual immorality with her, and the merchants of the earth grew rich from the abundance of her luxury."
4 Oí otra voz del cielo que decía: ¡Sal de ella, pueblo mío, para que no participes de sus pecados ni recibas sus plagas!
I heard another voice from heaven, saying, "Come out of her, my people, that you have no participation in her sins, and that you do not receive of her plagues,
5 Porque sus pecados fueron apilados hasta el cielo, y Dios recordó sus crímenes.
for her sins have reached to the sky, and God has remembered her iniquities.
6 ¡Dale galardón como ella galardonó: las cosas al doble! Devuélvanle según sus obras. ¡Mézclenle doble en la copa que mezcló!
Return to her just as she returned, and repay her double as she did, and according to her works. In the cup which she mixed, mix to her double.
7 Tanto como se alabó y vivió en placeres, denle de tormento y llanto, pues dice en su corazón: Me siento reina. No soy viuda, y que de ningún modo vea duelo.
However much she glorified herself, and grew wanton, so much give her of torment and mourning. For she says in her heart, 'I sit a queen, and am no widow, and will in no way see mourning.'
8 Por esto, en un solo día estarán presentes sus plagas: muerte, duelo y hambre. Será consumida con fuego, porque poderoso es el Señor Dios que la juzgó.
Therefore in one day her plagues will come: death, mourning, and famine; and she will be utterly burned with fire; for the Lord God who has judged her is strong.
9 Los reyes de la tierra que practicaron [la] inmoralidad sexual y vivieron en placeres con ella, llorarán. Se lamentarán por ella cuando vean el humo de su incendio.
The kings of the earth, who committed sexual immorality and lived wantonly with her, will weep and wail over her, when they look at the smoke of her burning,
10 Se colocarán en pie de lejos a causa del temor a su tormento y dirán: ¡Ay, ay, la gran ciudad, Babilonia, la ciudad fuerte, porque en una hora vino tu juicio!
standing far away for the fear of her torment, saying, 'Woe, woe, the great city, Babylon, the strong city. For your judgment has come in one hour.'
11 Los mercaderes de la tierra lloran y lamentan por ella, porque ya nadie compra su cargamento:
The merchants of the earth weep and mourn over her, for no one buys their merchandise any more;
12 cargamento de oro, plata, piedra preciosa, perlas, lino fino, púrpura, seda, escarlata, toda madera olorosa, todo objeto de marfil, todo objeto de madera valiosa, bronce, hierro, mármol,
merchandise of gold, silver, precious stones, pearls, fine linen, purple, silk, scarlet, all expensive wood, every vessel of ivory, every vessel made of most precious wood, and of bronze, and iron, and marble;
13 canela, amomo, incienso, mirra e incienso aromático, vino, aceite, harina y trigo, ganado [vacuno], ovejas, caballos, carruajes, y cuerpos y almas de hombres.
and cinnamon, spice, incense, perfume, frankincense, wine, olive oil, fine flour, wheat, cattle, sheep, horses, chariots, slaves and human lives.
14 El fruto de la codicia de tu alma salió de ti. Todas las cosas exquisitas y espléndidas se alejaron de ti. Ya nunca jamás las hallarán.
The fruits which your soul lusted after have been lost to you, and all things that were luxury and splendor have perished from you, and you will never ever find them again.
15 Los mercaderes de estas cosas, quienes enriquecieron a causa de ella, estarán lejos por el temor al tormento de ella. Llorarán, lamentarán
The merchants of these things, who were made rich by her, will stand far away for the fear of her torment, weeping and mourning;
16 y dirán: ¡Ay, ay, la gran ciudad que se cubrió de lino fino, púrpura y escarlata, y se adornó con oro, piedras preciosas y perlas,
saying, 'Woe, woe, the great city, she who was dressed in fine linen, purple, and scarlet, and decked with gold and precious stones and pearls.
17 porque en una hora fue arrasada tanta riqueza! Todo timonel, todo navegante, marineros y cuantos se ocupan en el mar tomaron posición a una distancia.
For in an hour such great riches are made desolate.' Every shipmaster, and everyone who sails anywhere, and mariners, and as many as gain their living by sea, stood far away,
18 Al ver la humareda de su incendio, gritaban: ¿Cuál es semejante a la gran ciudad?
and exclaimed as they looked at the smoke of her burning, saying, 'What is like the great city?'
19 Echaban polvo sobre sus cabezas, gritaban, lloraban, lamentaban y decían: ¡Ay, ay, la gran ciudad! Todos los que tienen naves en el mar enriquecieron con su abundancia. ¡Porque en una hora fue desolada!
They cast dust on their heads, and shouting, weeping and mourning, saying, 'Woe, woe, the great city, in which all who had their ships in the sea were made rich by reason of her great wealth.' For in one hour is she made desolate.
20 ¡Oh cielo, regocíjate con respecto a ella! ¡También los santos, los apóstoles y los profetas, porque Dios decidió el juicio de ustedes contra ella!
"Rejoice over her, O heaven, you saints, apostles, and prophets; for God has judged your judgment on her."
21 Un ángel fuerte levantó una gran piedra, como la de un molino, [la] lanzó al mar y dijo: ¡Así la gran ciudad Babilonia será destruida con violento impulso! ¡Que de ningún modo sea hallada!
A mighty angel took up a stone like a great millstone and cast it into the sea, saying, "Thus with violence will Babylon, the great city, be thrown down, and will be found no more at all.
22 ¡Que de ningún modo sea escuchado en ti tañido de arpistas, de músicos, de flautistas y de trompetistas! ¡Que de ningún modo sea hallado en ti artífice de algún oficio! ¡Que de ningún modo sea escuchado en ti sonido de molino!
The voice of harpists, minstrels, flute players, and trumpeters will be heard no more at all in you. No craftsman, of whatever craft, will be found any more at all in you. The sound of a mill will be heard no more at all in you.
23 ¡Que de ningún modo alumbre en ti luz de lámpara! ¡Y que de ningún modo sea escuchada en ti voz de novio y de novia! Porque tus mercaderes eran los magnates de la tierra, y todas las naciones fueron engañadas con tu hechicería.
The light of a lamp will shine no more at all in you. The voice of the bridegroom and of the bride will be heard no more at all in you; for your merchants were the princes of the earth; for with your sorcery all the nations were deceived.
24 En ella se halló sangre de profetas, santos y de todos los que fueron asesinados en la tierra.
In her was found the blood of prophets and of saints, and of all who have been slain on the earth."
