Apocalipsis 17
1 Vino uno de los siete ángeles que tenían las siete copas y habló conmigo: Ven acá. Te mostraré la sentencia contra la gran ramera que está sobre muchas aguas.
And there came one of the seven angels, that had the seven vials, and talked with me and said, Come hither, and I will shew thee the judgement of the great harlot, that sitteth upon many waters:
2 Los reyes de la tierra practicaron inmoralidad sexual con ella. Los que habitan la tierra se embriagaron con el vino de su inmoralidad sexual.
with whom the kings of the earth have committed whoredom, and the inhabitants of the earth have been made drunk with the wine of her whoredom.
3 Me llevó en espíritu al desierto. Y vi a una mujer que estaba sentada sobre una bestia [de color] escarlata que tenía siete cabezas y diez cuernos, llena de nombres blasfemos.
And he transported me in spirit into the wilderness, and I saw a woman sitting on a scarlet-coloured beast, full of blasphemous names, having seven heads and ten horns.
4 La mujer estaba cubierta de púrpura y escarlata. Estaba adornada con oro, piedras preciosas y perlas. Sostenía en su mano una copa de oro llena de repugnancias y las inmundicias de su inmoralidad sexual.
And the woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet, and adorned with gold and precious stones and pearls, having a golden cup in her hand, full of the stench and filth of her whoredom.
5 En su frente tenía escrito un nombre: Misterio, Babilonia la grande, la madre de las prostitutas y de las repugnancias de la tierra.
And upon her forehead was a name written, "Mystery, Babylon the great, the mother of harlots, and of the abominations of the earth."
6 Vi a la mujer embriagada con la sangre de los santos y de los mártires de Jesús. Al mirarla, quedé maravillado con gran asombro.
And I saw the woman drunk with the blood of the saints, and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus: and when I saw her, I wondered with great amazement.
7 El ángel me dijo: ¿Por qué te asombras? Yo te diré el misterio de la mujer y de la bestia que la lleva y tiene las siete cabezas y los diez cuernos:
And the angel said unto me, Why dost thou wonder? I will tell thee the mystery of the woman and of the beast that carrieth her, which hath the seven heads and ten horns.
8 La bestia que viste era y no es. Está a punto de subir del abismo y va a perdición. Los que moran en la tierra, cuyos nombres no fueron escritos en el rollo de la vida desde [la] fundación del mundo, se asombrarán al ver a la bestia que era, no es y será. (Abyssos g12)
The beast, which thou sawest, was, and is not; but will rise out of the abyss, and go into perdition: and they that dwell on the earth (whose names are not written on the book of life from the foundation of the world) shall wonder, when they behold the beast that was, and is not, and yet is to be. (Abyssos g12)
9 Aquí está la mente que tiene sabiduría: Las siete cabezas son siete colinas sobre las cuales la mujer está asentada. También son siete reyes.
To this the mind that hath wisdom will attend: for the seven heads are seven hills, on which the woman sitteth.
10 Cinco de ellos cayeron. Uno es, y otro aún no vino, y cuando venga, es necesario que permanezca poco.
And there are seven kings: five are fallen, one is, and another is not yet come; and when he cometh, he is to continue but a little while.
11 La bestia que era y no es, también es el octavo. Es de los siete, y va a destrucción.
And the beast that was, and is not, he is the eighth, and is as one of the seven, and goeth into perdition.
12 Los diez cuernos que viste son diez reyes, los cuales aún no recibieron reino, pero recibirán autoridad como reyes con la bestia por una hora.
And the ten horns, which thou sawest, are ten kings, who have not yet received a kingdom, but shall receive power as kings for a limited time with the beast.
13 Éstos tienen un solo propósito. Entregan su poder y autoridad a la bestia.
These are of one mind, and will give their power and authority to the beast.
14 Éstos pelearán contra el Cordero, y el Cordero los vencerá, porque [Él] es Señor de señores y Rey de reyes. Los que están con Él son llamados, elegidos, y fieles.
These will make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them: for He is Lord of lords, and King of kings: and those that are with Him are called, and chosen, and faithful.
15 También me dijo: Las aguas que viste, donde está sentada la prostituta, son pueblos, multitudes, naciones y lenguas.
And he said unto me, The waters which thou sawest, whereon the harlot sitteth, are people, and multitudes, and nations, and tongues.
16 Los diez cuernos y la bestia que viste aborrecerán a la prostituta y la dejarán desolada y desnuda. Se comerán sus carnes y la quemarán con fuego.
And the ten horns which thou sawest upon the beast, these shall hate the whore, and shall make her desolate and naked, and shall devour her flesh, and burn her with fire.
17 Porque Dios colocó en sus corazones que lleven a cabo el propósito de Él, que tomen una decisión y entreguen el reino de ellos a la bestia para que se cumplan [las] palabras de Dios.
For God hath put it into their hearts to do according to his mind, and to perform one and the same purpose, even to give their kingdoms to the beast, till the words of God be accomplished.
18 La mujer que miraste es aquella gran ciudad que tiene dominio sobre los reyes de la tierra.
And the woman which thou sawest is that great city, which beareth rule over the kings of the earth.
