Salmos 87

1 Su cimiento está en las santas montañas.

The city that Yahweh established is on his sacred hill.

2 Ama Yavé las puertas de Sion Más que todas las tiendas de Jacob.

He loves that city, Jerusalem, more than he loves any other city in Israel.

3 Cosas gloriosas se dicen de ti, ¡Oh ciudad de ʼElohim! (Selah)

[You people in] [APO] the city that God (owns/lives in), people say wonderful things about your city.

4 Mencionaré a Rahab y a Babilonia entre los que me conocen. Ahí están Filistea, Tiro y Etiopía: Éste nació allá.

[Some of those who know about God are the people of] Egypt and Babylonia, and also [the people of] Philistia and Tyre and Ethiopia; [some day they all] will say, “[Although I was not born in Jerusalem], [because I belong to Yahweh, it is as though] I was born there.”

5 De Sion se dirá: Éste y aquél nacieron en ella, Y el mismo ʼElyón la establecerá.

And concerning Jerusalem, people will say [“It is as though] everyone was born there, and Almighty God will cause that city to remain strong/safe/secure.”

6 Yavé contará al registrar a los pueblos: Éste nació allí. (Selah)

Yahweh will write a list of [the names of] the people of various groups [who belong to him], and he will say that [he considers them] all to be citizens of Jerusalem.

7 Entonces tanto los que cantan Como los que tocan flautas dirán: ¡Todas mis fuentes están en ti!

They will all dance and sing, saying, “Jerusalem is the source of all our blessings.”
