Salmos 8

1 ¡Oh Yavé, ʼAdonay nuestro, Cuán majestuoso es tu Nombre en toda la tierra! Colocaste tu majestad sobre los cielos.

For the end, concerning the wine-presses, a Psalm of David. O Lord, our Lord, how wonderful is thy name in all the earth! for thy magnificence is exalted above the heavens.

2 De la boca de los niños y de los que maman Estableciste una fortaleza frente a tus adversarios Para silenciar al enemigo y al vengador.

Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings hast thou perfected praise, because of thine enemies; that thou mightest put down the enemy and avenger.

3 Cuando contemplo tus cielos, la obra de tus dedos, La luna y las estrellas que Tú afirmaste,

For I will regard the heavens, the work of thy fingers; the moon and stars, which thou hast established.

4 Digo: ¿Qué es el hombre, para que te acuerdes de él, El hijo de hombre, para que te preocupes por él?

What is man, that thou art mindful of him? or the son of man, that thou visitest him?

5 Lo hiciste un poco menor que los ángeles. Lo coronaste de gloria y honor.

Thou madest him a little less than angels, thou hast crowned him with glory and honour;

6 Lo haces dominar sobre las obras de tus manos. Colocaste todas las cosas debajo de sus pies:

and thou hast set him over the works of thy hands: thou hast put all things under his feet:

7 Ovejas y bueyes, todo ello, Y también las bestias del campo,

sheep and all oxen, yea and the cattle of the field;

8 Las aves del cielo y los peces del mar, Todo cuanto pasa por los senderos de los mares.

the birds of the sky, and the fish of the sea, the [creatures] passing through the paths of the sea.

9 ¡Oh Yavé, ʼAdonay nuestro, Cuán majestuoso es tu Nombre en toda la tierra!

O Lord our Lord, how wonderful is thy name in all the earth!
