Salmos 74

1 Oh ʼElohim, ¿por qué nos desechaste para siempre? ¿Por qué humea tu ira contra las ovejas de tu prado?

Maschil of Asaph. O God, why hast thou cast [us] off for ever? [why] doth thy anger smoke against the sheep of thy pasture?

2 Acuérdate de tu congregación, La que compraste desde tiempo antiguo, La que redimiste para que sea tribu de tu heredad, Y de esta Montaña Sion, donde moras.

Remember thy congregation, [which] thou hast purchased of old: the rod of thy inheritance, [which] thou hast redeemed; this mount Zion, in which thou hast dwelt.

3 Dirige tus pasos hacia las perpetuas desolaciones. Todo destruyó el enemigo en el Santuario.

Lift up thy feet to the perpetual desolations; [even] all [that] the enemy hath done wickedly in the sanctuary.

4 Tus adversarios vociferan en medio de tu lugar de reunión. Pusieron como insignias sus propios estandartes.

Thy enemies roar in the midst of thy congregations; they set up their ensigns [for] signs.

5 Se parecen a los que levantan hachas en un bosque de árboles.

[A man] was famous according as he had lifted up axes upon the thick trees.

6 Y ahora todas sus entalladuras destruyen con hachas y martillos.

But now they break down the carved work of it at once with axes and hammers.

7 Y hasta los cimientos quemaron tu Santuario. Profanaron el lugar de morada de tu Nombre.

They have cast fire into thy sanctuary, they have defiled [by casting down] the dwelling-place of thy name to the ground.

8 Dijeron en su corazón: Destruyámoslos por completo. Y quemaron todas las congregaciones de ʼEL en la tierra.

They said in their hearts, Let us destroy them together: they have burned up all the synagogues of God in the land.

9 No vemos nuestras insignias, Ya no hay profeta, Ni hay entre nosotros quien sepa hasta cuándo.

We see not our signs: [there is] no more any prophet: neither [is there] among us any that knoweth how long.

10 ¿Hasta cuándo, oh ʼElohim, nos seguirá afrentando el adversario? ¿Seguirá blasfemando tu Nombre para siempre?

O God, how long shall the adversary reproach? shall the enemy blaspheme thy name for ever?

11 ¿Por qué retraes tu mano? ¿Por qué escondes tu mano derecha en tu regazo? ¡Destrúyelos!

Why withdrawest thou thy hand, even thy right hand? pluck [it] out of thy bosom.

12 Sin embargo, ʼElohim es mi Rey desde antaño, Quien hace obras de salvación en la tierra.

For God [is] my King of old, working salvation in the midst of the earth.

13 Tú dividiste el mar con tu poder. Quebraste en las aguas las cabezas de los monstruos.

Thou didst divide the sea by thy strength: thou didst break the heads of the dragons in the waters.

14 Tú aplastaste las cabezas de cocodrilo. Lo diste como comida a las criaturas del desierto.

Thou didst break the head of leviathan in pieces, [and] didst give him [to be] food to the people inhabiting the wilderness.

15 Tú abriste fuentes y torrentes. Secaste corrientes impetuosas.

Thou didst cleave the fountain and the flood: thou didst dry up mighty rivers.

16 Tuyo es el día, tuya también la noche. Tú preparaste la luz y el sol.

The day [is] thine, the night also [is] thine: thou hast prepared the light and the sun.

17 Tú estableciste todos los límites de la tierra. Tú hiciste verano e invierno.

Thou hast set all the borders of the earth: thou hast made summer and winter.

18 Recuerda esto, oh Yavé, que el enemigo te ofendió, Y gente insensata blasfemó tu Nombre.

Remember this, the enemy hath reproached, O LORD, and the foolish people have blasphemed thy name.

19 No entregues la vida de tu tórtola a las bestias salvajes. No olvides para siempre la vida de tu pobre.

O deliver not the soul of thy turtle dove to the multitude [of the wicked]: forget not the congregation of thy poor for ever.

20 Considera el Pacto, Porque los lugares oscuros de la tierra están llenos de habitaciones de violencia.

Have respect to the covenant: for the dark places of the earth are full of the habitations of cruelty.

21 No permitas que el oprimido regrese avergonzado. Ordena que los afligidos y menesterosos alaben tu Nombre.

O let not the oppressed return ashamed: let the poor and needy praise thy name.

22 ¡Levántate, oh ʼElohim, y defiende tu propia causa! Recuerda cómo el insensato te ofende todo el día.

Arise, O God, plead thy own cause: remember how the foolish man reproacheth thee daily.

23 No olvides la voz de tus adversarios, El tumulto de los que se levantan contra Ti, Que sube de continuo.

Forget not the voice of thy enemies: the tumult of those that rise against thee increaseth continually.
