Salmos 4
1 ¡Oh ʼElohim de mi justicia, respóndeme cuando clamo! Tú que me diste holgura en la estrechez, Ten compasión de mí y escucha mi oración.
For the music director. A psalm of David, to be accompanied by string instruments. When I call, please answer me, God who vindicates me. When I was hemmed in by troubles, you gave me a way out. Be gracious to me and hear my prayer.
2 Oh hijos de [los] hombres, ¿Por cuánto tiempo convertirán mi honra en infamia? ¿Hasta cuando amarán vanidad y buscarán la mentira? (Selah)
How long will you people ruin my reputation? How long will you love what is worthless and tell lies? (Selah)
3 Sepan, pues, que Yavé apartó al piadoso para Él.
You should realize that the Lord shows special favor to the faithful. The Lord listens when I call to him.
4 Aírense, pero no pequen. Mediten en su corazón sobre sus camas. Guarden silencio. (Selah)
Be in awe, do not sin. When you rest, reflect on this, and keep quiet! (Selah)
5 Ofrezcan sacrificios de justicia, Y confíen en Yavé.
Offer sacrifices with the right attitude. Trust in the Lord.
6 Muchos dicen: ¡Oh, que viéramos algún bien! ¡Oh Yavé, levanta sobre nosotros la luz de tu rostro!
Many say, “Who is going to show us some good?” Lord, may your face shine upon us.
7 Diste alegría a mi corazón, Mayor que la de ellos, aun cuando abundan en grano y mosto.
The happiness you give me is better than those who have a plentiful harvest of grain and new wine.
8 En paz me acostaré y así dormiré, Porque solo Tú, Yavé, me haces vivir confiado.
I will lie down in peace and sleep, for you, Lord, alone keep me safe.
