Salmos 33
1 ¡Alégrense, oh justos, en Yavé! En los íntegros es hermosa la alabanza.
Rejoice, O ye righteous, in the LORD! For praise becometh the upright.
2 Den gracias a Yavé con arpa. Cántenle con el arpa de diez cuerdas.
Praise the LORD with the harp; Sing to him with the ten-stringed psaltery!
3 Cántenle canto nuevo. ¡Háganlo bien, tañan con júbilo!
Sing to him a new song; Play skilfully amid the sound of trumpets!
4 Pues recta es la Palabra de Yavé, Y toda su obra es hecha con fidelidad.
For the word of the LORD is right, And all his acts are faithful.
5 Él ama la rectitud y la justicia. De la misericordia de Yavé está llena la tierra.
He loveth justice and equity; The earth is full of the goodness of the LORD.
6 Por la Palabra de Yavé fueron hechos los cielos, Y todas sus constelaciones por el aliento de su boca.
By the word of the LORD were the heavens made, And all the hosts of them by the breath of his mouth.
7 Él reúne como en una pila las aguas del mar. Él pone en depósitos los abismos.
He gathereth the waters of the sea, as a heap; He layeth up the deep in storehouses.
8 ¡Tema a Yavé toda la tierra! ¡Tiemblen delante de Él todos los habitantes del mundo!
Let all the earth fear the LORD; Let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of him!
9 Porque Él dijo y fue hecho. Él ordenó y apareció.
For he spake, and it was done; He commanded, and it stood fast.
10 Yavé anula el consejo de las naciones. Él frustra los planes de los pueblos.
The LORD bringeth the devices of the nations to nothing; He frustrateth the designs of kingdoms.
11 El consejo de Yavé permanece para siempre, Y los planes de su corazón por todas las generaciones.
The purposes of the LORD stand for ever; The designs of his heart, to all generations.
12 ¡Cuán bendecida es la nación cuyo ʼElohim es Yavé, El pueblo que Él escogió como su propia heredad!
Happy the nation whose God is Jehovah; The people whom he hath chosen for his inheritance.
13 Yavé ve desde el cielo. Mira a todos los hijos de [los] hombres.
The LORD looketh down from heaven; He beholdeth all the children of men;
14 Desde el lugar de su morada Observa a todos los habitantes de la tierra.
From his dwelling-place he beholdeth all the inhabitants of the earth, —
15 El que forma los corazones de todos ellos Considera todas sus acciones.
He that formed the hearts of all, And observeth all their works.
16 El rey no se salva por la multitud del ejército, Ni el poderoso escapa por la mucha fuerza.
A king is not saved by the number of his forces, Nor a hero by the greatness of his strength.
17 Vano es el caballo para la victoria. No libra a cualquiera con su gran fuerza.
The horse is a vain thing for safety, Nor can he deliver his master by his great strength.
18 Ahí está el ojo de Yavé sobre los que le temen, Sobre los que esperan en su misericordia
Behold, the eye of the LORD is upon them that fear him, —Upon them that trust in his goodness;
19 Para salvar su vida de la muerte Y mantenerlos vivos en tiempo de hambre.
To save them from the power of death, And keep them alive in famine.
20 Nuestras almas esperan a Yavé. Él es nuestra Ayuda y nuestro Escudo.
The hope of our souls is in the LORD; He is our help and our shield.
21 Por tanto, en Él se alegra nuestro corazón, Porque confiamos en su santo Nombre.
Yea, in him doth our heart rejoice; In his holy name we have confidence.
22 Que tu misericordia, oh Yavé, sea sobre nosotros, Según esperamos en Ti.
May thy goodness be upon us, O LORD! According as we trust in thee!
