Proverbios 7
1 Hijo mío, guarda mis palabras Y atesora mis mandamientos dentro de ti.
My son, keep my words. Lay up my commandments within you.
2 Guarda mis mandamientos y vive, Y mi enseñanza como la niña de tu ojo.
Keep my commandments and live. Guard my teaching as the apple of your eye.
3 Átalos a tus dedos. Escríbelos en la tabla de tu corazón.
Bind them on your fingers. Write them on the tablet of your heart.
4 Dí a la sabiduría: Tú eres mi hermana. Llama al entendimiento [tu] íntimo amigo,
Tell wisdom, "You are my sister." Call understanding your relative,
5 Para que te guarden de la mujer ajena, De la seductora [que] lisonjea con sus palabras.
that they may keep you from the strange woman, from the foreigner who flatters with her words.
6 Pues cuando desde la ventana de mi casa Observaba entre las celosías,
For at the window of my house, I looked out through my lattice.
7 Vi entre los ingenuos. Observé entre los jóvenes A un joven falto de entendimiento
I saw among the simple ones. I discerned among the youths a young man void of understanding,
8 Que pasaba por la calle cerca de la esquina de ella. Caminaba en dirección a la casa de ella

9 Al anochecer, cuando ya oscurecía, En medio de la noche y la oscuridad.

13 Lo agarró y lo besó, Y descaradamente le dijo:

14 Prometí sacrificios de paz. Hoy pagué mis votos.
"Sacrifices of peace offerings are with me. This day I have paid my vows.
15 Por tanto salí a encontrarte, A buscar diligentemente tu rostro, y te hallé.
Therefore I came out to meet you, to diligently seek your face, and I have found you.
16 Preparé mi cama con colchas. La tendí con lino de Egipto.
I have spread my couch with carpets of tapestry, with striped cloths of the yarn of Egypt.
17 Perfumé mi cama con mirra, áloes, y canela.
I have perfumed my bed with myrrh, aloes, and cinnamon.
18 Ven, deleitémonos con caricias hasta el alba. Embriaguémonos de amores,
Come, let's take our fill of loving until the morning. Let's solace ourselves with loving.
19 Porque mi esposo no está en casa. Emprendió un largo viaje.
For my husband isn't at home. He has gone on a long journey.
20 Llevó consigo una bolsa de dinero. El día de luna nueva volverá a su casa.
He has taken a bag of money with him. He will come home at the full moon."
21 Lo rindió con la mucha suavidad de sus palabras. Lo sedujo con sus labios lisonjeros.
With persuasive words, she led him astray. With the flattering of her lips, she seduced him.
22 Súbitamente se fue tras ella, Como el buey al matadero, Como un venado que se enredó en la trampa,
He followed her immediately, as an ox goes to the slaughter, as a stag leaping into a trap,
23 Como ave que se lanza contra la red, Sin saber que le costará la vida, Hasta que una flecha le traspasa el hígado.
till an arrow strikes through his liver, as a bird hurries to the snare, and doesn't know that it will cost his life.
24 Ahora pues, hijos, escúchenme. Presten atención a las palabras de mi boca:
Now therefore, son, listen to me. Pay attention to the words of my mouth.
25 No dejes que tu corazón se aparte a los caminos de ella, Ni te extravíes por sus sendas.
Do not let your heart turn to her ways. Do not go astray in her paths,
26 Porque ella dejó muchos heridos, Y aun los más fuertes fueron asesinados por ella.
for she has thrown down many wounded. Yes, all her slain are a mighty army.
