1 Huye el impío sin que nadie lo persiga, Pero como león está confiado el justo.
The wicked people run away when no one chases them, but righteous people are as bold as a young lion.
2 Por la rebelión de la tierra sus jefes son muchos, Pero por el hombre entendido y sabio permanece estable.
Because of the transgression of a land, it has many rulers, but with a man of understanding and knowledge, it will last a long time.
3 El hombre pobre que explota a los indigentes Es como lluvia torrencial que no deja pan.
A poor person who oppresses other poor people is like a beating rain that leaves no food.
4 Los que abandonan la Ley alaban al impío. Los que la guardan contienden con ellos.
Those who forsake the law praise wicked people, but those who keep the law fight against them.
5 Los perversos no entienden la justicia, Pero el que busca a Yavé lo entiende todo.
Evil men do not understand justice, but those who seek Yahweh understand everything.
6 Mejor es el pobre que anda en su integridad, Que rico de caminos torcidos.
It is better for a poor person who walks in his integrity, than for a rich person who is crooked in his ways.
7 El que observa la Ley es hijo inteligente, El que se reúne con glotones avergüenza a su padre.
He who keeps the law is a son who has understanding, but one who is a companion of gluttons shames his father.
8 El que aumenta su fortuna con interés y usura Acumula para el que se compadece de los pobres.
The one who makes his fortune by charging too much interest gathers his wealth for another who will have pity on poor people.
9 Al que aparta su oído para no oír la Ley, Aun su oración es una repugnancia.
If one turns away his ear from hearing the law, even his prayer is detestable.
10 El que extravía al recto por el mal camino Caerá en su propia fosa, Pero los íntegros heredarán el bien.
Whoever misleads the upright into an evil way will fall into his own pit, but the blameless will have a good inheritance.
11 El hombre rico es sabio en su propia opinión, Pero el entendido pobre lo escudriña.
The rich person may be wise in his own eyes, but a poor person who has understanding will find him out.
12 Cuando triunfa el justo hay gran esplendor, Cuando se yerguen los impíos, los hombres se esconden.
When the righteous triumph, there is great glory; but when the wicked arise, people are sought out.
13 El que encubre sus pecados no prosperará, Pero el que los confiesa y se aparta alcanzará misericordia.
The one who hides his sins will not prosper, but the one who confesses them and forsakes them will be shown mercy.
14 ¡Inmensamente feliz es el hombre que teme siempre! Pero el que endurece su corazón caerá en la desgracia.
The one who always lives with reverence is blessed, but whoever hardens his heart will fall into trouble.
15 León rugiente y oso hambriento, Es el gobernante impío sobre un pueblo pobre.
Like a roaring lion or a charging bear is a wicked ruler over poor people.
16 El gobernante falto de entendimiento aumenta la extorsión, Pero el que aborrece la avaricia alargará sus días.
The ruler who lacks understanding is a cruel oppressor, but the one who hates dishonesty will prolong his days.
17 El hombre culpable de homicidio hacia la fosa huye. ¡Nadie lo detenga!
If a man is guilty because he has shed someone's blood, he will be a fugitive until death and no one will help him.
18 El que anda en integridad será librado, Pero el que oscila entre dos caminos caerá de repente.
Whoever walks with integrity will be kept safe, but the one whose way is crooked will suddenly fall.
19 El que labra su tierra se saciará de pan, Pero el que persigue vanidades se hartará de pobreza.
The one who works his land will have plenty of food, but whoever follows worthless pursuits will have plenty of poverty.
20 El hombre leal tendrá muchas bendiciones, Pero el que se apresura a enriquecerse no quedará impune.
A faithful man will have great blessings, but the one who gets rich quickly will not go unpunished.
21 Hacer acepción de personas no es bueno, Pero, ¡hasta por un bocado de pan puede transgredir un hombre!
It is not good to show partiality, but for a piece of bread a man will do wrong.
22 El hombre de mirada desleal se afana por enriquecer, Y no sabe que lo alcanzará la miseria.
A stingy man hurries after riches, but he does not know that poverty will come upon him.
23 El que reprende al hombre hallará mayor gracia Que el de boca lisonjera.
Whoever disciplines someone, afterward will find more favor from him than from the one who flatters him with his tongue.
24 El que roba a padre o madre y dice que no es pecado, Es compañero del destructor.
Whoever robs his father and his mother and says, “That is no sin,” he is the companion of the one who destroys.
25 El arrogante suscita contiendas, Pero el que confía en Yavé prosperará.
A greedy man stirs up conflict, but the one who trusts in Yahweh will prosper.
26 El que confía en su propio corazón es un necio, Pero el que anda en sabiduría será librado.
One who trusts in his own heart is a fool, but whoever walks in wisdom will keep away from danger.
27 El que da al pobre no tendrá necesidad, Pero el que aparta de él sus ojos tendrá muchas maldiciones.
The one who gives to the poor will lack nothing, but whoever closes his eyes to them will receive many curses.
28 Cuando se levantan los perversos, los hombres se esconden, Pero cuando perecen, aumentan los justos.
When the wicked arise, people hide themselves; but when they perish, the righteous increase.
