Filipenses 1

1 Pablo y Timoteo, esclavos de Jesucristo, a todos los santos en Cristo Jesús de Filipos, con [los] supervisores y diáconos.

Paul and Timothy, servants of Jesus Christ, —unto all the saints in Christ Jesus who are in Philippi, with overseers and ministers: —

2 Gracia y paz a ustedes de Dios nuestro Padre y del Señor Jesucristo.

Favour unto you, and peace, from God our Father and Lord Jesus Christ.

3 Doy gracias a mi Dios por todo el recuerdo de ustedes.

I am giving thanks unto my God, on occasion of all my remembrance of you,

4 Siempre hago la súplica con gozo por todos ustedes en toda conversación mía con Dios,

At all times, in every supplication of mine, in behalf of you all, with joy, my supplication, making, —

5 sobre su relación con las Buenas Noticias desde el primer día hasta ahora.

On account of your contribution unto the glad-message, from the first day until the present:

6 Me convencí de que El que inició en ustedes [la] buena obra [la ]completará hasta [el] día de Jesucristo.

Being persuaded of this very thing—that, he who hath begun in you a good work, will perfect it, until the day of Jesus Christ;

7 Me es justo pensar esto de todos ustedes porque los tengo en mi corazón. Todos ustedes son participantes conmigo de la gracia, de mis cadenas y de la defensa y confirmación de las Buenas Noticias.

According as it is right in me to have this regard in behalf of you all, —because ye have had me in your hearts, both in my bonds and in the defence and confirmation of the glad-message, all of you being, joint partakers of my favour.

8 Porque Dios es mi testigo de cómo los añoro a todos ustedes con [el] amor entrañable de Jesucristo.

For God is, my witness, how I long for you all in the tender affections of Christ Jesus.

9 Hablo con Dios para que su amor abunde aun más y más en conocimiento superior y en toda comprensión

And, this, I pray—that, your love, may be, yet more and more, pre-eminent in personal knowledge and all perception,

10 con el propósito de que sometan a prueba lo mejor, a fin de que sean sinceros e irreprochables hasta [el] día de Cristo,

To the end ye may be putting to the test the things that differ, in order that ye may be incorrupt and may give no occasion of stumbling, unto the day of Christ,

11 llenos de fruto de justicia para gloria y alabanza de Dios por medio de Jesucristo.

Filled with that fruit of righteousness which is through Jesus Christ unto the glory and praise of God.

12 Anhelo, hermanos, que ustedes sepan que las cosas que me han sucedido han resultado más bien para [el] avance de las Buenas Noticias,

Howbeit, I am minded, brethren, that ye should be, getting to know, that, the things which relate unto myself, rather, unto an advancement of the glad-message, have fallen out,

13 de modo que mis cadenas por causa de Cristo se manifestaron a toda la guardia de la residencia oficial y a todos los demás.

So that, my bonds, have become manifest in Christ, in the whole palace, and unto all the rest, —

14 Muchos de los hermanos en [el] Señor se han convencido por causa de mis cadenas, y son más osados para hablar la Palabra sin temor.

And [so that], the most of the brethren in the Lord, assured by my bonds, are becoming more abundantly bold to be fearlessly speaking the word of God: —

15 Algunos ciertamente predican a Cristo por envidia y rivalidad, pero otros de buena voluntad.

Some, indeed, by reason of envy and strife—some, however, by reason of good will—are proclaiming, the Christ:

16 Los unos [proclaman] por amor, pues reconocieron que estoy destinado para [la ]defensa de las Buenas Noticias,

These, indeed, out of love, knowing that, for the defence of the glad-message, I am set;

17 pero los otros predican a Cristo por rivalidad egoísta, no sinceramente. Suponen causar aflicción a mis cadenas.

But, those, out of faction, are declaring, the Christ, not purely—supposing to rouse up, tribulation, with my bonds.

18 ¿Entonces, qué [diremos]? Que de todos modos, sea por pretexto o por verdad, Cristo es predicado. Con esto me regocijo y aún me regocijaré.

What then? That, in any way, whether in pretext, or in truth, Christ, is declared, and, in this, I rejoice—yea, and will rejoice!

19 Porque entiendo que esto resultará en mi liberación por medio de la conversación de ustedes con Dios y el apoyo del Espíritu de Jesucristo,

For I know that, this, shall turn unto me for salvation—through your supplication, and the supply of the Spirit of Jesus Christ, —

20 conforme a mi expectación anhelante y esperanza de que en nada seré avergonzado. Al contrario, con toda confianza, como siempre, también ahora Cristo será engrandecido en mi cuerpo, por vida o por muerte.

According to my eager outlook and hope, that, in nothing, shall I be put to shame, but, with all freedom of speech, as always, now also, shall Christ be magnified in my body, whether through means of life, or of death.

21 Porque para mí el vivir es Cristo y el morir es ganancia.

For, unto me—living, is Christ, and, dying, gain.

22 Pero si el vivir en [el] cuerpo me sirve para una obra fructífera, aún no sé qué escoger,

But, if living in flesh, [is Christ], this, unto me, is a fruit of work, —and, what I shall choose, I make not known:

23 pues soy presionado por ambos deseos: tengo el anhelo de partir y estar con Cristo, lo cual es mucho mejor,

I am held in constraint, however, by reason of the two, —having, the coveting, to be released, and to be with, Christ, for it were far better!

24 pero permanecer en [el] cuerpo es necesario por causa de ustedes.

But, to abide still in the flesh, is more needful for your sake;

25 Y confiado en esto, entiendo que permaneceré y continuaré con todos ustedes para su progreso y gozo en la fe,

And, of, this, being assured, know that I shall abide, —yea abide with you all, for your advancement, and the joy of your faith;

26 a fin de que su enaltecimiento de mí en Cristo Jesús sea más que suficiente por mi presencia otra vez con ustedes.

In order that, your matter of boasting, may be more abundant in Christ Jesus, regarding me, through my own presence again with you.

27 Solo [anhelo] que sean buenos ciudadanos de una manera digna de las Buenas Noticias de Cristo, para que, ya sea que vaya a visitarlos o esté ausente, oiga que ustedes están firmes en un solo espíritu, con un solo ánimo y que combaten juntos por la fe de las Buenas Noticias.

Only, in a manner worthy of the glad-message of the Christ, be using your citizenship; in order that—whether coming and seeing you, or being absent, I may hear of the things which concern you—that ye are standing fast in one spirit, with one soul, joining for the combat along with the faith of the glad-message;

28 No se intimiden en nada por los que se oponen, lo cual es señal de destrucción para ellos, pero para ustedes, de salvación de Dios.

And not being affrighted in anything by the opposers, —the which, is, unto them, a token of destruction, although of your salvation, and this from God;

29 Porque Cristo les concedió a ustedes no solo que crean en Él, sino también que padezcan por Él.

Because, unto you, hath it been given as a favour, in behalf of Christ, not only, on him, to believe, but also, in his behalf, to suffer: —

30 Ustedes tienen la misma lucha que vieron en mí, y ahora oyen que está en mí.

Having, the same contest, which ye have seen in me, and now hear to be in me.
