1 Yavé habló a Moisés en el Tabernáculo de Reunión cuando estaban en el desierto de Sinaí, el día primero del mes segundo, en el segundo año de su salida de la tierra de Egipto:
And the Lord spoke to Moses in the desert of Sinai, in the tabernacle of the covenant, on the first day of the second month, in the year after their departure from Egypt, saying:
2 Toma un censo de toda la congregación de los hijos de Israel según sus familias de acuerdo con sus casas paternas, según el número de nombres, todo varón, cabeza por cabeza,
“Take a total of the entire assembly of the sons of Israel, by their families and houses, and the names of each one, of whomever is of the male sex,
3 de 20 años arriba, todo el que pueda salir a la guerra en Israel. Tú y Aarón los contarán por sus escuadrones,
from twenty years and above, of all the able-bodied men out of Israel, and you shall number them by their companies, you and Aaron.
4 y un varón de cada tribu, cada uno jefe de su casa paterna, estará con ustedes.
And there shall be with you the leaders of the tribes, as well as of the houses, in their kinships,
5 Estos son los nombres de los varones que estarán con ustedes: De la tribu de Rubén: Elisur, hijo de Sedeur.
the names of whom are these: of Ruben, Elizur the son of Shedeur;
6 De Simeón: Selumiel, hijo de Zurisadai.
of Simeon, Shelumiel the son of Zurishaddai;
7 De Judá: Naasón, hijo de Aminadab.
of Judah, Nahshon the son of Amminadab;
8 De Isacar: Natanael, hijo de Suar.
of Issachar, Nathanael the son of Zuar;
9 De Zabulón: Eliab, hijo de Helón.
of Zebulon, Eliab the son of Helon.
10 De los hijos de José: de Efraín, Elisama, hijo de Amiud, de Manasés: Gamaliel, hijo de Pedasur.
And from the sons of Joseph: of Ephraim, Elishama the son of Ammihud; of Manasseh, Gamaliel the son of Pedahzur;
11 De Benjamín: Abidán, hijo de Gedeoni.
of Benjamin, Abidan the son of Gideoni;
12 De Dan: Ahiezer, hijo de Amisadai.
of Dan, Ahiezer the son of Ammishaddai;
13 De Aser: Pagiel, hijo de Ocrán.
of Asher, Pagiel the son of Ochran;
14 De Gad: Eliasaf, hijo de Dehuel.
of Gad, Eliasaph the son of Reuel;
15 De Neftalí: Ahira, hijo de Enán.
of Naphtali, Ahira the son of Enan.”
16 Estos fueron los designados de entre la congregación, representantes de las tribus de sus antepasados y jefes de los millares de Israel.
These are the very noble leaders of the multitude, by their tribes and kinships, and the heads of the army of Israel.
17 Moisés y Aarón tomaron a estos varones que fueron designados por nombre,
Moses and Aaron took these, with all the multitude of the common people,
18 y reunieron a toda la asamblea el día primero del mes segundo. Se registraron según su genealogía, sus familias, sus casas paternas y conforme a la cuenta de sus nombres cabeza por cabeza, todos los varones de 20 años arriba.
and they gathered them together on the first day of the second month, taking a census of them by kinships, and houses, and families, and heads, and the names of each one from twenty years and above,
19 Como Yavé ordenó a Moisés, así los contaron en el desierto de Sinaí.
just as the Lord had instructed Moses. And they were numbered in the desert of Sinai.
20 En cuanto a los hijos de Rubén, primogénito de Israel, según su genealogía, sus familias, sus casas paternas y conforme a la cuenta de sus nombres cabeza por cabeza, todos los varones de 20 años arriba, todos los aptos para la guerra,
Of Ruben, the firstborn of Israel, by their generations and families and houses, and the names of each head, of all who were of the male sex, from twenty years and above, capable of going to war,
21 los contados de la tribu de Rubén fueron 46.500.
there were forty-six thousand five hundred.
22 De los hijos de Simeón, según su genealogía, sus familias, sus casas paternas y conforme a la cuenta de sus nombres cabeza por cabeza, todos los varones de 20 años arriba, todos los aptos para la guerra,
Of the sons of Simeon, by their generations and families, and the houses of their kinships, having been counted by the names and heads of each one, of all who were of the male sex, from twenty years and above, capable of going to war,
23 los contados de la tribu de Simeón fueron 59.300.
there were fifty-nine thousand three hundred.
24 De los hijos de Gad, según su genealogía, sus familias, sus casas paternas y conforme a la cuenta de sus nombres cabeza por cabeza, todos los varones de 20 años arriba, todos los aptos para la guerra,

there were forty-five thousand six hundred fifty.
26 De los hijos de Judá, según su genealogía, sus familias, sus casas paternas y conforme a la cuenta de sus nombres cabeza por cabeza, todos los varones de 20 años arriba, todos los aptos para la guerra,

there were counted fifty-four thousand four hundred.

there were thirty-two thousand two hundred.
36 De los hijos de Benjamín, según su genealogía, sus familias, sus casas paternas y conforme a la cuenta de sus nombres cabeza por cabeza, todos los varones de 20 años arriba, todos los aptos para la guerra,

there were sixty-two thousand seven hundred.
40 De los hijos de Aser, según su genealogía, sus familias, sus casas paternas y conforme a la cuenta de sus nombres cabeza por cabeza, todos los varones de 20 años arriba, todos los aptos para la guerra,

41 los contados de la tribu de Aser fueron 41.500.
there were forty thousand and one thousand five hundred.
42 Los hijos de Neftalí, según su genealogía, sus familias, sus casas paternas y conforme a la cuenta de sus nombres cabeza por cabeza, todos los varones de 20 años arriba, todos los aptos para la guerra,
Of the sons of Naphtali, by their generations and families, and the houses of their kinships, having been counted by the names of each one, from twenty years and above, of all who were able to go forth to war,
43 los contados de la tribu de Neftalí fueron 53.400.
there were fifty-three thousand four hundred.
44 Tales fueron los contados que registraron Moisés y Aarón, juntamente con los 12 representantes de Israel, uno por cada casa paterna.
These are the ones who were numbered by Moses and Aaron and the twelve leaders of Israel, each one by the houses of their kinships.
45 Todos los contados de los hijos de Israel según sus casas paternas, de 20 años arriba, todos los que en Israel podían salir a la guerra,
And the entire number of the sons of Israel by their houses and families, from twenty years and above, who were able to go forth to war, were
46 fueron 603.550.
six hundred three thousand five hundred fifty men.
47 Pero los levitas, según la tribu de sus antepasados, no fueron contados con ellos,
But the Levites in the tribes of their families were not numbered with them.
48 pues Yavé habló a Moisés:
And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying:
49 Solamente no contarás a la tribu de Leví, ni los censarás entre los hijos de Israel.
“Do not number the tribe of Levi, neither shall you take a total of them with the sons of Israel.
50 Sino encargarás a los levitas el Tabernáculo del Testimonio, todos sus utensilios y todo lo que le pertenece. Ellos cargarán el Tabernáculo y todos sus utensilios. Lo atenderán y acamparán alrededor del Tabernáculo.
But appoint them over the tabernacle of the testimony, and all its vessels, and whatever pertains to the ceremonies. They shall carry the tabernacle and all its articles. And they shall be for the ministry, and they shall encamp all around the tabernacle.
51 Cuando el Tabernáculo tenga que trasladarse, los levitas lo desmontarán, y cuando se detenga, los levitas lo armarán. El extraño que se acerque morirá.
When you would depart, the Levites shall take down the tabernacle. When you are to make camp, they shall set it up. Any outsider who will approach it shall be killed.
52 Los hijos de Israel acamparán cada uno en su campamento junto a su estandarte, conforme a sus ejércitos.
Now the sons of Israel shall make camp, each one by his companies and bands, as well as his army.
53 Pero los levitas acamparán alrededor del Tabernáculo del Testimonio para que no venga la ira sobre la congregación de los hijos de Israel. Los levitas custodiarán el Tabernáculo del Testimonio.
Moreover, the Levites shall fix their tents all around the tabernacle, lest there be an indignation over the multitude of the sons of Israel. And they shall stand watch as guardians over the tabernacle of the testimony.”
54 Y los hijos de Israel hicieron todo lo que Yavé ordenó a Moisés. Así hicieron.
Therefore, the sons of Israel acted according to everything that the Lord had instructed Moses.
