1 Estos son los descendientes de Aarón y Moisés, el día cuando Yavé habló con Moisés en la Montaña Sinaí.

And these are the generations of Aaron and Moses in the day that Jehovah spoke with Moses on mount Sinai.

2 Estos, pues, son los nombres de los hijos de Aarón: Nadab, el primogénito, Abiú, Eleazar e Itamar.

And these are the names of the sons of Aaron: Nadab the firstborn, and Abihu, Eleazar and Ithamar.

3 Estos son los nombres de los hijos de Aarón, los sacerdotes ungidos, a quienes él consagró para ejercer el sacerdocio.

These are the names of the sons of Aaron, the anointed priests, who were consecrated to exercise the priesthood.

4 Pero Nadab y Abiú murieron delante de Yavé cuando ofrecieron fuego extraño ante Yavé en el desierto de Sinaí, y no tuvieron hijos. Eleazar e Itamar ejercieron el sacerdocio en presencia de su padre Aarón.

And Nadab and Abihu died before Jehovah when they offered strange fire before Jehovah in the wilderness of Sinai, and they had no sons; and Eleazar and Ithamar exercised the priesthood in the presence of Aaron their father.

5 Yavé habló a Moisés:

And Jehovah spoke to Moses, saying,

6 Haz que se presente la tribu de Leví y que esté ante el sacerdote Aarón para que le sirvan.

Bring the tribe of Levi near, and present them before Aaron the priest, that they may minister unto him;

7 Cumplirán lo que él les encomiende para él y para toda la congregación delante del Tabernáculo de Reunión.

and they shall keep his charge, and the charge of the whole assembly, before the tent of meeting, to do the service of the tabernacle.

8 Cuidarán todos los utensilios del Tabernáculo de Reunión, y lo encargado a ellos por los hijos de Israel para el servicio del Tabernáculo.

And they shall keep all the utensils of the tent of meeting, and the charge of the children of Israel, to do the service of the tabernacle.

9 Darás así los levitas a Aarón y a sus hijos. Ellos le son completamente dados de entre los hijos de Israel.

And thou shalt give the Levites to Aaron and to his sons: they are wholly given to him out of the children of Israel.

10 Constituirás a Aarón y a sus hijos para que ejerzan su sacerdocio. El extraño que se acerque morirá.

And Aaron and his sons shalt thou appoint that they may attend to their priest's office; and the stranger that cometh near shall be put to death.

11 Yavé habló a Moisés:

And Jehovah spoke to Moses, saying,

12 Mira, tomé a los levitas de entre los hijos de Israel en representación de todo primogénito que abre matriz entre los hijos de Israel. Los levitas serán míos.

And I, behold, I have taken the Levites from among the children of Israel instead of every firstborn that breaketh open the womb among the children of Israel, and the Levites shall be mine;

13 Los levitas me pertenecen, porque mío es todo primogénito. El día cuando quité la vida a todo primogénito en la tierra de Egipto aparté para Mí a todos los primogénitos de Israel, hombres y animales. ¡Son míos! Yo, Yavé.

for every firstborn is mine. On the day that I smote all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, I hallowed unto me all the firstborn in Israel, both of man and beast; mine shall they be: I am Jehovah.

14 Yavé habló a Moisés en el desierto de Sinaí:

And Jehovah spoke to Moses in the wilderness of Sinai, saying,

15 Cuenta a los hijos de Leví según sus casas paternas y familias. Contarás a todo varón de un mes para arriba.

Number the sons of Levi according to their fathers' houses, after their families; every male from a month old and upward shalt thou number them.

16 Moisés los contó conforme a la Palabra de Yavé, como le fue ordenado.

And Moses numbered them, according to the commandment of Jehovah, — as he had been commanded.

17 Los nombres de los hijos de Leví fueron estos: Gersón, Coat y Merari.

And these are the sons of Levi by their names: Gershon, and Kohath, and Merari.

18 Los nombres de los hijos de Gersón, según sus familias: Libni y Simei.

And these are the names of the sons of Gershon according to their families: Libni and Shimei.

19 Los hijos de Coat, según sus familias: Amram, Izhar, Hebrón y Uziel.

And the sons of Kohath according to their families: Amram and Izhar, Hebron and Uzziel.

20 Los hijos de Merari, según sus familias: Mahli y Musi. Estas son las familias de los levitas, según sus casas paternas.

And the sons of Merari according to their families: Mahli and Mushi. These are the families of the Levites according to their fathers' houses.

21 De Gersón: la familia de Libni y la de Simei. Tales son las familias gersonitas.

Of Gershon, the family of the Libnites, and the family of the Shimites: these are the families of the Gershonites.

22 Los contados, según el número de todo varón de un mes para arriba, fueron 7.500.

Those that were numbered of them, according to the number of all the males, from a month old and upward, those that were numbered of them were seven thousand five hundred.

23 Las familias de Gersón acamparon detrás del Tabernáculo, al occidente.

The families of the Gershonites encamped behind the tabernacle westward.

24 El jefe de la casa paterna de los gersonitas era Eliasaf, hijo de Lael.

And the prince of the father's house of the Gershonites was Eliasaph the son of Lael.

25 Los hijos de Gersón estaban a cargo del Tabernáculo de Reunión, la tienda que lo cubría y su cubierta, la cortina de entrada al Tabernáculo de Reunión,

And the charge of the sons of Gershon in the tent of meeting was: the tabernacle and the tent, its covering, and the curtain of the entrance to the tent of meeting.

26 las cortinas del patio y la de su entrada, y la que está alrededor del Tabernáculo y del altar, y las cuerdas para todo su servicio.

And the hangings of the court, and the curtain of the entrance to the court, which surrounds the tabernacle and the altar, and the cords thereof for all its service.

27 De Coat era la familia de los amramitas, la de los izharitas, la familia de los hebronitas y la familia de los uzielitas. Tales eran las familias de los coatitas.

And of Kohath, the family of the Amramites, and the family of the Izharites, and the family of the Hebronites, and the family of the Uzzielites: these are the families of the Kohathites.

28 El número de todos los varones de un mes para arriba que estaban a cargo del Santuario era 8.600.

According to the number of all the males, from a month old and upward, there were eight thousand six hundred, who kept the charge of the sanctuary.

29 Las familias de los hijos de Coat acampaban al costado sur del Tabernáculo.

The families of the sons of Kohath encamped on the side of the tabernacle southward.

30 Su jefe era de la casa paterna de las familias de Coat, Elisafán, hijo de Uziel.

And the prince of the father's house of the families of the Kohathites was Elizaphan the son of Uzziel.

31 El arca, la mesa, el candelabro, los altares, los utensilios con los cuales sirven en el Santuario y el velo con todo su servicio estaba al cuidado de ellos.

And their charge was the ark, and the table, and the candlestick, and the altars, and the utensils of the sanctuary with which they ministered, and the curtain, and all that belongs to its service.

32 El principal de los jefes de los levitas era Eleazar, hijo del sacerdote Aarón, jefe de los guardas del Santuario.

And the prince of princes of the Levites was Eleazar the son of Aaron the priest: he had the oversight of them that kept the charge of the sanctuary.

33 De Merari era la familia de los mahalitas y la familia de los musitas. Tales eran las familias de Merari.

Of Merari was the family of the Mahlites, and the family of the Mushites: these are the families of Merari.

34 Sus contados, según el número de todo varón de un mes para arriba, fueron 6.200.

And those that were numbered of them, according to the number of all the males, from a month old and upward, were six thousand two hundred.

35 El jefe de la casa paterna de las familias de Merari era Zuriel, hijo de Abihail. Acampaban al costado norte del Tabernáculo.

And the prince of the father's house of the families of Merari was Zuriel the son of Abihail. They encamped on the side of the tabernacle northward.

36 A cargo de los hijos de Merari estaban los tablones del Tabernáculo, sus travesaños, columnas y basas, todos sus utensilios y todo lo relacionado con su servicio,

And the charge of the sons of Merari consisted in the oversight of the boards of the tabernacle, and its bars, and its pillars, and its bases, and all its furniture, and all that belongs to its service,

37 como también las columnas que rodean el patio, sus basas, estacas y cuerdas.

and the pillars of the court round about, and their bases, and their pegs, and their cords.

38 Los que iban a acampar delante del Tabernáculo de Reunión, hacia el oriente, eran Moisés y Aarón con sus hijos, quienes tenían a su cargo la guardia del Santuario en nombre de los hijos de Israel. Pero el extraño que se acerque morirá.

And those who encamped before the tabernacle eastward, before the tent of meeting toward the sunrising, were Moses, and Aaron and his sons, who kept the charge of the sanctuary for the charge of the children of Israel; and the stranger that cometh near shall be put to death.

39 Moisés y Aarón contaron por orden de Yavé. Todos los contados de los levitas por sus familias, todos los varones de un mes para arriba, fueron 22.000.

All that were numbered of the Levites, whom Moses and Aaron numbered at the commandment of Jehovah, according to their families, all the males from a month old and upward, were twenty-two thousand.

40 Yavé dijo a Moisés: Cuenta todo primogénito varón de los hijos de Israel de un mes para arriba y haz una lista de sus nombres.

And Jehovah said to Moses, Number all the first-born males of the children of Israel from a month old and upward, and take the number of their names.

41 Tomarás los levitas para Mí, Yo, Yavé, en representación de todos los primogénitos de los hijos de Israel. También tomarás el ganado de los levitas en representación de todo primerizo de los animales de los hijos de Israel.

And thou shalt take the Levites for me (I am Jehovah) instead of all the firstborn among the children of Israel; and the cattle of the Levites, instead of all the firstlings among the cattle of the children of Israel.

42 Como Yavé le ordenó, Moisés contó todos los primogénitos de los hijos de Israel.

And Moses numbered, as Jehovah had commanded him, all the firstborn among the children of Israel.

43 Todos los primogénitos varones de un mes para arriba, según la cuenta de los nombres, fueron 22.273.

And all the firstborn males, by the number of the names, from a month old and upward, according to their numbering, were twenty-two thousand two hundred and seventy-three.

44 Luego Yavé habló a Moisés:

And Jehovah spoke to Moses, saying,

45 Toma a los levitas en representación de todo primogénito de los hijos de Israel y el ganado de los levitas en representación del ganado de aquéllos. Los levitas serán míos. Yo, Yavé.

Take the Levites instead of all the firstborn among the children of Israel, and the cattle of the Levites instead of their cattle; and the Levites shall be mine: I am Jehovah.

46 Para el rescate de los 273 que exceden de los primogénitos de los hijos de Israel a los levitas,

And for those that are to be ransomed, the two hundred and seventy-three of the firstborn of the children of Israel, which are in excess over the Levites,

47 tomarás 55 gramos de plata por cabeza. Lo tomarás conforme al siclo del Santuario, de 20 geras por siclo,

thou shalt take five shekels apiece by the poll, according to the shekel of the sanctuary shalt thou take them, — twenty gerahs the shekel;

48 y darás a Aarón y a sus hijos el dinero del rescate del número que excede de ellos.

and thou shalt give the money unto Aaron and unto his sons for those in excess among them who are to be ransomed.

49 Moisés tomó el dinero del rescate de los que excedían al número de los redimidos por los levitas.

And Moses took the ransom-money from them that were over and above those who were ransomed by the Levites;

50 Recibió en dinero de los primogénitos de los hijos de Israel: 15 kilogramos de plata, conforme al valor del dinero del Santuario.

of the firstborn of the children of Israel he took the money, a thousand three hundred and sixty-five [shekels], according to the shekel of the sanctuary.

51 Moisés entregó el dinero de los redimidos a Aarón y a sus hijos, conforme a la Palabra de Yavé, como Yavé ordenó a Moisés.

And Moses gave the money of them that were ransomed to Aaron and to his sons, according to the commandment of Jehovah, — as Jehovah had commanded Moses.
