San Mateo 24
1 Cuando Jesús salió del Templo sus discípulos se acercaron para mostrarle los edificios del Templo.
Jesus went out from the temple, and was going on his way. His disciples came to him to show him the buildings of the temple.
2 Les preguntó: ¿Ven todas estas cosas? En verdad les digo: Que de ningún modo quede aquí piedra sobre piedra que no sea totalmente derribada.
But he answered them, “You see all of these things, do not you? Most certainly I tell you, there will not be left here one stone on another, that will not be thrown down.”
3 Cuando estaba sentado en la Montaña de Los Olivos, los discípulos se [le] acercaron en privado y [le] preguntaron: Dinos, ¿cuándo será esto? ¿Cuál es la señal de tu venida y del fin de la era? (aiōn g165)
As he sat on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to him privately, saying, "Tell us, when will these things be? What is the sign of your coming, and of the consummation of the age (aiōn g165)?"
4 Jesús respondió: Cuídense que nadie los engañe.
Jesus answered them, “Be careful that no one leads you astray.
5 Porque vendrán muchos en mi Nombre y dirán: Yo soy el Cristo, y a muchos engañarán.
For many will come in my name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will lead many astray.
6 Ustedes oirán de guerras y rumores de guerras. Atención, no se alarmen, porque esto debe suceder. Pero aún no es el fin.
You will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not troubled, for all this must happen, but the end is not yet.
7 Porque se levantará nación contra nación y reino contra reino, y habrá hambrunas y terremotos en diferentes lugares.
For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom; and there will be famines, plagues, and earthquakes in various places.
8 Pero todas estas cosas serán principio de dolores de parto.
But all these things are the beginning of birth pains.
9 Entonces los entregarán a tribulación y los matarán. Serán aborrecidos por todas las gentes a causa de mi Nombre.
“Then they will deliver you up to oppression and will kill you. You will be hated by all of the nations for my name’s sake.
10 Entonces muchos tropezarán. Se entregarán unos a otros y se aborrecerán.
Then many will stumble, and will deliver up one another, and will hate one another.
11 Muchos falsos profetas se levantarán y engañarán a muchos.
Many false prophets will arise and will lead many astray.
12 Y por haberse multiplicado la maldad, el amor de muchos se enfriará.
Because iniquity will be multiplied, the love of many will grow cold.
13 Pero el que persevere hasta el fin será salvo.
But he who endures to the end will be saved.
14 Estas Buenas Noticias del reino serán proclamadas en toda la tierra para testimonio a todas las naciones. Entonces vendrá el fin.
This Good News of the Kingdom will be preached in the whole world for a testimony to all the nations, and then the end will come.
15 Por tanto, cuando ustedes vean la repugnancia de la desolación anunciada por el profeta Daniel puesta en el Lugar Santo (el que lee, entienda),
“When, therefore, you see the abomination of desolation, which was spoken of through Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place (let the reader understand),
16 entonces, los que estén en Judea huyan a las montañas.
then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains.
17 El que esté en la azotea, no baje a tomar [las cosas] de su casa,
Let him who is on the housetop not go down to take out the things that are in his house.
18 y el que esté en el campo, no regrese a tomar su ropa.
Let him who is in the field not return back to get his clothes.
19 Pero, ¡ay de las que estén embarazadas y de las que amamanten en aquellos días!
But woe to those who are with child and to nursing mothers in those days!
20 Por tanto hablen con Dios para que su huida no sea en invierno, ni en sábado.
Pray that your flight will not be in the winter nor on a Sabbath,
21 Porque habrá entonces una gran tribulación, como no hubo desde [el] comienzo del mundo hasta ahora, ni habrá jamás.
for then there will be great suffering, such as has not been from the beginning of the world until now, no, nor ever will be.
22 Si aquellos días no fueran acortados, ninguna persona sería salva. Pero aquellos días serán acortados por causa de los escogidos.
Unless those days had been shortened, no flesh would have been saved. But for the sake of the chosen ones, those days will be shortened.
23 Entonces, si alguno les dice: ¡Miren al Cristo! O: ¡Aquí! No crean.
“Then if any man tells you, ‘Behold, here is the Christ!’ or, ‘There!’ do not believe it.
24 Porque se levantarán falsos cristos y falsos profetas. Harán grandes señales y prodigios, si fuera posible hasta engañar aun a los escogidos.
For false christs and false prophets will arise, and they will show great signs and wonders, so as to lead astray, if possible, even the chosen ones.
25 Recuerden que se lo predije.
“Behold, I have told you beforehand.
26 Si les dicen: ¡Mira, está en el desierto! No salgan. ¡Mira, está en las recámaras! No crean.
“If therefore they tell you, ‘Behold, he is in the wilderness,’ do not go out; or ‘Behold, he is in the inner rooms,’ do not believe it.
27 Porque como el relámpago sale del oriente y fulgura hasta el occidente, así será la venida del Hijo del Hombre.
For as the lightning flashes from the east, and is seen even to the west, so will the coming of the Son of Man be.
28 Donde esté el cadáver se reunirán los buitres.
For wherever the carcass is, that is where the vultures gather together.
29 Inmediatamente después de la tribulación de aquellos días, El sol se oscurecerá y la luna no dará su resplandor. Las estrellas se caerán del cielo y las potencias celestiales serán conmovidas.
“But immediately after the suffering of those days, the sun will be darkened, the moon will not give its light, the stars will fall from the sky, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken;
30 Entonces se mostrará la señal del Hijo del Hombre en el cielo. Todas las naciones de la tierra se lamentarán y verán al Hijo del Hombre que viene sobre las nubes del cielo con poder y gran gloria.
and then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky. Then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of the sky with power and great glory.
31 Enviará a sus ángeles con sonido de gran trompeta, y reunirán a sus escogidos de los cuatro puntos cardinales, desde un extremo al otro extremo de los cielos.
He will send out his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they will gather together his chosen ones from the four winds, from one end of the sky to the other.
32 Así que aprendan la parábola de la higuera: Cuando su rama esté tierna y broten las hojas, saben ustedes que el verano está cerca.
“Now from the fig tree learn this parable: When its branch has now become tender and produces its leaves, you know that the summer is near.
33 Así también ustedes, cuando vean todas estas cosas, sepan que está cerca, a las puertas.
Even so you also, when you see all these things, know that he is near, even at the doors.
34 En verdad les digo: Que de ningún modo pase este linaje hasta que sucedan todas estas cosas.
Most certainly I tell you, this generation will not pass away until all these things are accomplished.
35 El cielo y la tierra pasarán, pero que no pasen mis Palabras.
Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away.
36 Sin embargo, nadie sabe en cuanto a aquél día y hora, ni los ángeles de los cielos, ni el Hijo. Solo el Padre.
“But no one knows of that day and hour, not even the angels of heaven, but my Father only.
37 Pero como en los días de Noé, así será la venida del Hijo del Hombre.
As the days of Noah were, so will the coming of the Son of Man be.
38 Porque como en aquellos días antes del diluvio comían y bebían, se casaban y se daban en casamiento hasta el día cuando Noé entró en el arca,
For as in those days which were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the ship,
39 y no entendieron hasta cuando el diluvio llegó y se los llevó a todos, así será la venida del Hijo del Hombre.
and they did not know until the flood came and took them all away, so will the coming of the Son of Man be.
40 Entonces estarán dos en el campo: Uno será tomado y el otro será dejado.
Then two men will be in the field: one will be taken and one will be left.
41 Estarán dos mujeres moliendo en el molino. Una será tomada y la otra será dejada.
Two women will be grinding at the mill: one will be taken and one will be left.
42 Velen, porque no saben cuál día viene su Señor.
Watch therefore, for you do not know in what hour your Lord comes.
43 Pero sepan esto: Si el dueño de la casa supiera a qué hora de la noche viene el ladrón, velaría y no permitiría que su casa fuera invadida.
But know this, that if the master of the house had known in what watch of the night the thief was coming, he would have watched, and would not have allowed his house to be broken into.
44 Por esto, ustedes también estén preparados, porque el Hijo del Hombre vendrá a la hora cuando no lo piensen.
Therefore also be ready, for in an hour that you do not expect, the Son of Man will come.
45 ¿Quién es, pues, el esclavo fiel y prudente, a quien el señor puso para dar la comida a tiempo a su servidumbre?
“Who then is the faithful and wise servant, whom his lord has set over his household, to give them their food in due season?
46 ¡Inmensamente feliz aquel esclavo a quien, cuando llegue su señor, lo encuentre que hace así!
Blessed is that servant whom his lord finds doing so when he comes.
47 En verdad les digo que lo pondrá sobre todos sus bienes.
Most certainly I tell you that he will set him over all that he has.
48 Pero si aquel esclavo malo dice en su corazón: Mi señor tarda,
But if that evil servant should say in his heart, ‘My lord is delaying his coming,’
49 y comienza a golpear a sus consiervos, a comer y a beber con los que se emborrachan,
and begins to beat his fellow servants, and eat and drink with the drunkards,
50 el señor vendrá el día y a la hora cuando el esclavo no [lo] espera,
the lord of that servant will come in a day when he does not expect it and in an hour when he does not know it,
51 lo castigará severamente, y le asignará su lugar con los hipócritas. Allí será el llanto y el crujido de los dientes.
and will cut him in pieces and appoint his portion with the hypocrites. That is where the weeping and grinding of teeth will be.
