San Mateo 10
1 Llamó a sus 12 discípulos y les dio autoridad sobre los espíritus impuros para que los echaran fuera y sanaran toda enfermedad y toda dolencia.
And having called together his twelve disciples, he gave them authority over unclean spirits, to cast them out and to cure every sickness and every infirmity.
2 Los nombres de los 12 apóstoles son: Primero, Simón Pedro, su hermano Andrés, Jacobo, hijo de Zebedeo, su hermano Juan,
Now the names of the twelve Apostles are these: the First, Simon, who is called Peter, and Andrew his brother,
3 Felipe, Bartolomé, Tomás, Mateo el publicano, Jacobo, hijo de Alfeo, Tadeo,
James of Zebedee, and John his brother, Philip and Bartholomew, Thomas and Matthew the tax collector, and James of Alphaeus, and Thaddaeus,
4 Simón el cananita, y Judas Iscariote, quien lo traicionó.
Simon the Canaanite, and Judas Iscariot, who also betrayed him.
5 Jesús envió a estos 12 y les ordenó: No vayan a los gentiles, ni entren en la región de Samaria,
Jesus sent these twelve, instructing them, saying: “Do not travel by the way of the Gentiles, and do not enter into the city of the Samaritans,
6 sino vayan antes a las ovejas perdidas de la casa de Israel.
but instead go to the sheep who have fallen away from the house of Israel.
7 Vayan y proclamen: El reino celestial se acercó.
And going forth, preach, saying: ‘For the kingdom of heaven has drawn near.’
8 Sanen enfermos, resuciten muertos, limpien leprosos y echen fuera demonios. Gratuitamente recibieron ustedes. Den del mismo modo.
Cure the infirm, raise the dead, cleanse lepers, cast out demons. You have received freely, so give freely.
9 No se provean de oro, ni plata, ni cobre en sus cinturones,
Do not choose to possess gold, nor silver, nor money in your belts,
10 ni provisiones para el camino, ni dos túnicas, ni sandalias, ni bordón, porque el obrero es digno de su sustento.
nor provisions for the journey, nor two tunics, nor shoes, nor a staff. For the laborer deserves his portion.
11 En cualquier ciudad o aldea donde entren, infórmense quién es digno en ella, y posen allí hasta que salgan.
Now, into whatever city or town you will enter, inquire as to who is worthy within it. And stay there until you depart.
12 Al entrar en la casa, salúdenla.
Then, when you enter into the house, greet it, saying, ‘Peace to this house.’
13 Si en verdad la casa es digna, repose la paz de ustedes sobre ella, pero si no es digna, vuélvase su paz a ustedes.
And if, indeed, that house is worthy, your peace will rest upon it. But if it is not worthy, your peace will return to you.
14 Cualquiera que no los reciba, ni oiga sus palabras, al salir de aquella casa o ciudad, sacudan el polvo de sus pies.
And whoever has neither received you, nor listened to your words, departing from that house or city, shake off the dust from your feet.
15 En verdad les digo que en el día del juicio, será más tolerable para la tierra de Sodoma y Gomorra que para aquella ciudad.
Amen I say to you, it will be more tolerable for the land of Sodom and Gomorrah in the day of judgment, than for that city.
16 Recuerden, Yo los envío como a ovejas en medio de lobos. Por tanto sean prudentes como serpientes, y sencillos como palomas.
Behold, I am sending you like sheep in the midst of wolves. Therefore, be as prudent as serpents and as simple as doves.
17 Tengan cuidado de los hombres, porque los entregarán a los tribunales y los azotarán en las congregaciones judías.
But beware of men. For they will hand you over to councils, and they will scourge you in their synagogues.
18 Los llevarán aun ante gobernadores y reyes por causa de Mí para testimonio a ellos y a los gentiles.
And you shall be led before both rulers and kings for my sake, as a testimony to them and to the Gentiles.
19 Cuando los entreguen, no se preocupen en cuanto a cómo o qué dirán, porque en esa hora se les dará lo que deben decir.
But when they hand you over, do not choose to think about how or what to speak. For what to speak shall be given to you in that hour.
20 Porque no son ustedes quienes hablan, sino el Espíritu de su Padre es Quien habla por ustedes.
For it is not you who will be speaking, but the Spirit of your Father, who will speak in you.
21 El hermano entregará a su hermano a muerte, y el padre al hijo. Los hijos se rebelarán contra los padres y los matarán.
And brother will hand over brother to death, and father will hand over son. And children will rise up against parents and bring about their deaths.
22 Ustedes serán aborrecidos por todos a causa de mi Nombre, pero el que persevere hasta el fin será salvo.
And you will be hated by all for the sake of my name. But whoever will have persevered, even to the end, the same shall be saved.
23 Cuando los persigan en esta ciudad huyan a la otra. Porque en verdad les digo: No terminarán ustedes de recorrer las ciudades de Israel, hasta cuando venga el Hijo del Hombre.
Now when they persecute you in one city, flee into another. Amen I say to you, you will not have exhausted all the cities of Israel, before the Son of man returns.
24 Un discípulo no está por encima del maestro, ni un esclavo por encima de su amo.
The disciple is not above the teacher, nor is the servant above his master.
25 Basta al discípulo que sea como su maestro, y al esclavo como su señor. Si al amo de la casa [lo] llamaron Beelzebul, ¡cuánto más a los de su casa!
It is sufficient for the disciple that he be like his teacher, and the servant, like his master. If they have called the Father of the family, ‘Beelzebub,’ how much more those of his household?
26 Así que, no les teman, porque nada hay encubierto que no se manifieste, ni oculto que no se sepa.
Therefore, do not fear them. For nothing is covered that shall not be revealed, nor hidden that shall not be known.
27 Lo que les digo en la oscuridad díganlo en la luz, y lo que oyen al oído proclámenlo desde las azoteas.
What I tell you in darkness, speak in the light. And what you hear whispered in the ear, preach above the rooftops.
28 No teman a los que matan el cuerpo pero no pueden matar el alma. Teman más bien al que puede destruir el alma y el cuerpo en el infierno. (Geenna g1067)
And do not be afraid of those who kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul. But instead fear him who is able to destroy both soul and body in Hell. (Geenna g1067)
29 ¿No se venden dos pajarillos por un centavo? A pesar de eso, ni uno de ellos cae a tierra sin [que lo permita ]el Padre de ustedes.
Are not two sparrows sold for one small coin? And yet not one of them will fall to the ground without your Father.
30 En cuanto a ustedes, aun todos los cabellos de la cabeza están contados.
For even the hairs of your head have all been numbered.
31 Así que, no teman, más valen ustedes que muchos pajarillos.
Therefore, do not be afraid. You are worth more than many sparrows.
32 Cualquiera, pues, que me confiese delante de los hombres, Yo también lo confesaré delante de mi Padre celestial.
Therefore, everyone who acknowledges me before men, I also will acknowledge before my Father, who is in heaven.
33 Pero cualquiera que me niegue delante de los hombres, Yo también lo negaré delante de mi Padre celestial.
But whoever will have denied me before men, I also will deny before my Father, who is in heaven.
34 No piensen que vine a traer paz a la tierra. No vine a traer paz, sino espada.
Do not think that I came to send peace upon the earth. I came, not to send peace, but the sword.
35 Porque vine para poner en enemistad al hombre contra su padre, a la hija contra su madre, y a la nuera contra su suegra.
For I came to divide a man against his father, and a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law.
36 Los enemigos del hombre serán los de su casa.
And the enemies of a man will be those of his own household.
37 El que ama a padre o madre más que a Mí, no es digno de Mí. El que ama a hijo o hija más que a Mí, no es digno de Mí.
Whoever loves father or mother more than me is not worthy of me. And whoever loves son or daughter above me is not worthy of me.
38 El que no toma su cruz y sigue tras Mí, no es digno de Mí.
And whoever does not take up his cross and follow me is not worthy of me.
39 El que halla su vida la perderá, y el que pierde su vida por causa de Mí, la hallará.
Whoever finds his life, will lose it. And whoever will have lost his life because of me, shall find it.
40 El que los recibe a ustedes, me recibe a Mí, y el que me recibe, recibe al que me envió.
Whoever receives you, receives me. And whoever receives me, receives him who sent me.
41 El que recibe a un profeta por el nombre de profeta, recibirá recompensa de profeta, y el que recibe a un justo por el nombre de justo, recibirá recompensa de justo.
Whoever receives a prophet, in the name of a prophet, shall receive the reward of a prophet. And whoever receives the just in the name of the just shall receive the reward of the just.
42 Cualquiera que dé a beber tan solo un vaso de agua fría a uno de estos pequeños por cuanto es discípulo, en verdad les digo que de ningún modo perderá su recompensa.
And whoever shall give, even to one of the least of these, a cup of cold water to drink, solely in the name of a disciple: Amen I say to you, he shall not lose his reward.”
