Malaquías 2

1 Ahora pues, oh sacerdotes, para ustedes es este Mandamiento.

And now, O ye Priests, this commandement is for you.

2 Si no escuchan, ni deciden de corazón dar gloria a mi Nombre, dice Yavé de las huestes, enviaré maldición sobre ustedes y maldeciré sus bendiciones. En verdad, ya las maldije, porque ustedes no las reciben de corazón.

If yee will not heare it, nor consider it in your heart, to giue glory vnto my Name, sayth the Lord of hostes, I will euen sende a curse vpon you, and will curse your blessings: yea, I haue cursed them alreadie, because yee doe not consider it in your heart.

3 Ciertamente, reprendo su descendencia y echaré estiércol sobre sus caras, el estiércol [de las víctimas] de sus solemnidades. Ustedes mismos serán echados con él.

Behold, I wil corrupt your seede, and cast dongue vpon your faces, euen the dongue of your solemne feastes, and you shall be like vnto it.

4 Entonces sabrán que Yo les envié este Mandamiento, para que mi Pacto continúe con Leví, dice Yavé de las huestes.

And yee shall know, that I haue sent this commandement vnto you, that my couenant, which I made with Leui, might stand, sayeth the Lord of hostes.

5 Mi Pacto con él era de vida y paz. Se las di y él reverenció mi Nombre.

My couenant was with him of life and peace, and I gaue him feare, and he feared mee, and was afraid before my Name.

6 La Ley de verdad estuvo en su boca, y no había iniquidad en sus labios. En paz y en rectitud anduvo conmigo, y apartó a muchos de su iniquidad.

The lawe of trueth was in his mouth, and there was no iniquitie founde in his lippes: hee walked with me in peace and equitie, and did turne many away from iniquitie.

7 Pues los labios del sacerdote deben guardar la sabiduría, y el pueblo buscará la Ley de su boca, porque él es mensajero de Yavé de las huestes.

For the Priestes lippes shoulde preserue knowledge, and they shoulde seeke the Lawe at his mouth: for he is the messenger of the Lord of hostes.

8 Pero ustedes se apartaron del camino, y a muchos hicieron tropezar en la Ley. Corrompieron el Pacto de Leví, dice Yavé de las huestes.

But yee are gone out of the way: yee haue caused many to fall by the Lawe: yee haue broken the couenant of Leui, sayeth the Lord of hostes.

9 Por tanto, Yo también los hago despreciables y viles ante todo el pueblo, porque ustedes no siguieron mis caminos, y muestran parcialidad en cuanto a la Ley.

Therefore haue I also made you to be despised, and vile before all the people, because yee kept not my wayes, but haue beene partiall in the Lawe.

10 ¿No tenemos todos un mismo Padre? ¿No nos creó un mismo ʼElohim? ¿Por qué, pues, nos portamos con deslealtad uno contra otro, y profanamos el Pacto de nuestros antepasados?

Haue we not all one father? hath not one God made vs? why doe we transgresse euery one against his brother, and breake the couenant of our fathers?

11 Judá fue infiel. En Israel y en Jerusalén se cometió repugnancia, porque Judá profanó el Santuario de Yavé que Él ama, y se casó con la hija de un ʼelohim extraño.

Iudah hath transgressed, and an abomination is committed in Israel and in Ierusalem: for Iudah hath defiled the holinesse of the Lord, which hee loued, and hath maried the daughter of a strange God.

12 Yavé elimine de las tiendas de Jacob hasta el último hombre que haga esto, tanto al testigo como al defensor y al que presenta una ofrenda a Yavé de las huestes.

The Lord will cut off the man that doeth this: both the master and the seruaunt out of the Tabernacle of Iaacob, and him that offereth an offering vnto the Lord of hostes.

13 Además ustedes hacen esto: Cubren el altar de Yavé con lágrimas, llanto y gemido, porque ya no miro sus ofrendas, ni las acepto con agrado de su mano.

And this haue ye done againe, and couered the altar of the Lord with teares, with weeping and with mourning: because the offering is no more regarded, neither receiued acceptably at your handes.

14 Ustedes preguntan: ¿Por qué? Porque Yavé fue testigo entre ti y la esposa de tu juventud, a la que fuiste infiel, aunque ella es tu compañera y la esposa de tu pacto.

Yet yee say, Wherein? Because the Lord hath beene witnesse betweene thee and the wife of thy youth, against whome thou hast transgressed: yet is shee thy companion, and the wife of thy couenant.

15 ¿No hizo Él un solo ser que tiene carne y espíritu? ¿Y qué demanda ese uno? Una descendencia consagrada a ʼElohim. Guárdense, pues, en su espíritu, y no sean desleales con la esposa de su juventud.

And did not hee make one? yet had hee abundance of spirit: and wherefore one? because he sought a godly seede: therefore keepe your selues in your spirit, and let none trespasse against the wife of his youth.

16 Porque aborrezco el repudio y al que cubre su ropa con violencia, dice Yavé de las huestes de las huestes. Así que cuiden su espíritu y no sean infieles.

If thou hatest her, put her away, sayeth the Lord God of Israel, yet he couereth the iniurie vnder his garment, saieth the Lord of hosts: therefore keepe your selues in your spirite, and transgresse not.

17 Ustedes fastidian a Yavé con sus palabras y dicen: ¿Cómo lo fastidiamos? Cuando dicen: Todo el que hace mal agrada a Yavé, y de ellos se complace. O dicen: ¿Dónde está el ʼElohim de justicia?

Yee haue wearied the Lord with your woordes: yet yee say, Wherein haue we wearied him? When ye say, Euery one that doeth euill, is good in the sight of the Lord, and he deliteth in them. Or where is the God of iudgement?
