Levítico 5

1 Si alguno es llamado a testificar porque fue testigo de algo que vio o supo, y no lo denunció, comete pecado y es culpable.

And if any person sin, because he heareth the voice of adjuration, and he is a witness, since he hath either seen or knoweth something; if he do not tell it, and thus bear his iniquity;

2 Si alguien toca cualquier cosa impura, ya sea el cadáver de una bestia impura, el cadáver de animal impuro o el cadáver de un reptil impuro, aunque no lo sepa, será impuro y culpable.

Or if there be a person who toucheth any unclean thing, whether it be the carcass of an unclean beast, or the carcass of unclean cattle, or the carcass of an unclean creeping thing, and it escape his recollection; but [he becometh aware that] he is unclean, and hath [thus] incurred guilt;

3 O si toca alguna impureza humana, de cualquier impureza con la cual se contamine, sin darse cuenta, y después lo sabe, es culpable.

Or if he touch the uncleanness of man, whatsoever uncleanness of the kind it be by which he can be defiled, and it escape his recollection; but he becometh aware of it, and [that] he hath [thus] incurred guilt;

4 Si alguien jura a la ligera con sus labios, para mal o para bien, en cualquier cosa en la cual el hombre acostumbra pronunciar juramento, y no se da cuenta, pero luego se percata, es culpable por cualquiera de estas cosas.

Or if any person swear, by pronouncing with his lips to do evil, or to do good [to himself], in whatsoever it be that a man pronounceth with an oath, and it escape his recollection; but he becometh aware of it that he hath incurred guilt by any one of these:

5 Cuando alguno peque en alguna de estas cosas, confesará aquello en lo cual pecó.

And it shall be, if he have incurred guilt by any one of these [things, ] that he shall confess that concerning which he hath sinned;

6 Para sacrificio que apacigua por su pecado presentará ante Yavé una hembra del rebaño, sea oveja o cabra, como sacrificio por el pecado, y el sacerdote le hará sacrificio que apacigua por su pecado.

And he shall bring his trespass-offering unto the Lord for his sin which he hath committed, a female from the flocks, a sheep or a goat, for a sin-offering; and the priest shall make an atonement for him concerning his sin.

7 Pero si no tiene suficiente para ofrecer una oveja, entonces presentará por su culpa dos tórtolas o dos palominos a Yavé: uno como sacrificio por el pecado y otro para holocausto.

And if his means be not sufficient for a sheep, then shall he bring as his offering [for the trespass] which he hath committed, two turtle-doves, or two young pigeons, unto the Lord; one for a sin-offering, and the other for a burnt-offering.

8 Los llevará al sacerdote. Éste presentará primero el que es sacrificio por el pecado, y de una uñada le desconectará la cabeza del cuello, pero no la separará.

And he shall bring them unto the priest, and he shall offer that which is for the sin-offering first, and pinch off its head by the back of its neck, but shall not divide it asunder:

9 Rociará parte de la sangre del sacrificio por el pecado sobre la pared del altar, y exprimirá el resto de la sangre al pie del altar. Es ofrenda por el pecado.

And he shall sprinkle some of the blood of the sin-offering upon the wall of the altar: and the rest of the blood shall be wrung out at the bottom of the altar; it is a sin-offering.

10 Con el segundo hará holocausto según lo establecido, y el sacerdote hará sacrificio que apacigua a favor de él, por la falta con la cual pecó, y será perdonado.

And the second shall he prepare as a burnt-offering, according to the prescribed order; and the priest shall make an atonement for him for his sin which he hath committed, and it shall be forgiven unto him.

11 Si no tiene lo suficiente para dos tórtolas o dos palominos, entonces, el que pecó presentará como ofrenda suya 2,2 gramos de flor de harina para el sacrificio que apacigua. No le echará aceite ni le pondrá incienso, porque es ofrenda por el pecado.

But if his means be not sufficient for two turtle-doves, or two young pigeons, then shall he bring as his offering for that which he hath sinned, the tenth part of an ephah of fine flour for a sin-offering; he shall not put upon it any oil, nor shall he put thereupon any frankincense; for it is a sin-offering.

12 La presentará al sacerdote, quien tomará de ella su puñado como memorial y la hará arder en el altar como ofrenda quemada a Yavé. Es ofrenda por el pecado.

And he shall bring it to the priest; and the priest shall take from it his handful, as its memorial, and burn it on the altar, upon the fire-offerings of the Lord: it is a sin-offering.

13 El sacerdote hará sacrificio que apacigua a favor de él por su falta con la cual pecó en alguna de estas cosas, y será perdonado. El resto será para el sacerdote, como en el caso de la ofrenda vegetal.

And the priest shall make an atonement for him concerning his sin that he hath committed in one of these, and it shall be forgiven unto him; and it shall belong to the priest, as the meat-offering.

14 Entonces Yavé habló a Moisés:

And the Lord spoke unto Moses, saying,

15 Si alguno comete una falta y peca por ignorancia con respecto a las cosas consagradas a Yavé, presentará a Yavé como sacrificio suyo por la culpa un carnero del rebaño sin defecto, evaluado en siclos de plata, según el siclo del Santuario, como sacrificio por el pecado.

If any person commit a trespass, and sin through ignorance, against the holy things of the Lord: then shall he bring as his trespass-offering unto the Lord a ram without blemish out of the flocks, in value of two shekels of silver, after the shekel of the sanctuary, for a trespass-offering.

16 Restituirá además lo que dañó de las cosas consagradas y añadirá un quinto sobre ello, lo cual dará al sacerdote. Éste hará sacrificio que apacigua a favor de él por medio del carnero del sacrificio por el pecado, y será perdonado.

And that, in which he hath sinned against the holy thing, shall he pay, and shall add its fifth part thereto, and give it unto the priest; and the priest shall make an atonement for him with the ram of the trespass-offering, and it shall be forgiven unto him.

17 Si alguno peca y quebranta cualquiera de los Mandamientos de Yavé con respecto a cosas que no se deben hacer, aunque no se dé cuenta, será responsable y pagará su falta.

And if any person sin, and commit any one of the prohibitions of the Lord which ought not to be done; and he know not whether he have incurred guilt, and so bear his iniquity:

18 Llevará un carnero del rebaño sin defecto, según tu estimación, como sacrificio por el pecado. El sacerdote hará por él sacrificio que apacigua por la falta que cometió sin darse cuenta, y será perdonado.

Then shall he bring a ram without blemish out of the flocks, of the usual value, for a trespass-offering, unto the priest: and the priest shall make an atonement for him concerning his sin of ignorance, wherein he hath erred and knoweth it not, and it shall be forgiven unto him.

19 Es un sacrificio por la culpa. Ciertamente es culpable ante Yavé.

It is a trespass-offering: he hath in trespassing trespassed against the Lord.
